Battler Season 3
The mission zone was sealed.
No civilians.
No witnesses.
Only broken buildings and the stench of blood.
Royal observers watched from afar.
"This will show us his loyalty," one council elder said.
Inside the zone—
Kenji raised his hand.
"Formation Alpha."
Toya moved first, barrier expanding.
Aiko stayed behind, senses wide open.
Ryo cracked his neck, eyes blazing.
Eviler attacks came instantly.
Fast.
Coordinated.
Too coordinated.
"These aren't random," Ryo shouted.
"They're trained!"
Kenji realized it instantly.
"They're being funded."
The fight was brutal.
Toya's barrier cracked.
Aiko pushed healing to the limit.
Ryo took hit after hit—refusing to fall.
Kenji stepped forward.
Fire ignited around his fists.
But he restrained it.
If I go too far… they'll label me a threat.
Suddenly—
A hidden sniper fired.
Straight at Aiko.
Kenji moved without thinking.
The shot pierced his shoulder.
Blood hit the ground.
Aiko screamed,
"Kenji!"
The Evilers froze.
They hadn't expected that.
Kenji stood upright—pain burning—but eyes calm.
"This is why your system fails," he said quietly.
"You count strength."
His fire flared—controlled, precise.
"You don't count choice."
In seconds—
The Evilers were down.
Alive.
Broken.
Silence followed.
From afar—
Chairman Daku closed his eyes.
"He chose restraint," Daku murmured.
"Not efficiency."
Royal General Kim spoke slowly.
"That makes him dangerous."
King Itsuki said nothing.
He only watched Kenji bleed.
Later, as healers treated him—
Ryo slammed a fist into the wall.
"They used us!"
Kenji nodded.
"Yes."
Toya looked at him seriously.
"And you still held back."
Kenji answered quietly.
"Because the moment I stop holding back…"
He looked toward the palace.
"…this Kingdom will see me as an enemy."
Far above—
A dark presence observed the battlefield aftermath.
"So this is the man," the voice whispered.
A smile formed.
"Break the crown…
or become it."
