The trial arena was not stone—
It was karma itself.
A circular domain activated, suppressing outside interference. The rules appeared in burning text.
"One representative.
No killing.
Victory by submission."
The High Council pointed.
"Kenji."
Ryo stepped forward.
"Let me—"
Kenji stopped him.
"This one's mine."
From the opposite gate, a man entered slowly.
Tall.
Scarred.
Wearing royal insignia.
"A Royal Enforcer," Aiko whispered.
"High A Rank… close to S."
The enforcer cracked his neck.
"I don't enjoy this. But orders are orders."
The signal sounded.
The enforcer attacked first—Wind-enhanced steps, lightning-coated fists. The strike was meant to end it fast.
Kenji blocked.
Bare-handed.
The impact shattered the arena floor.
Gasps echoed.
Kenji didn't counterattack.
He redirected.
Every move he made wasn't violent—it was efficient.
The enforcer's attacks slowed.
Confusion crossed his face.
"You're holding back…?"
Kenji answered quietly.
"This is judgment. Not execution."
He stepped inside the guard.
One precise strike.
The enforcer collapsed—conscious, but defeated.
Silence.
The High Council stood frozen.
Royal General Kim narrowed his eyes.
Chairman Daku smiled faintly.
King Itsuki leaned forward.
"So," the king said,
"You reject our cruelty—but obey our law."
Kenji looked up.
"I reject laws that break people," he said.
"But I'll face any trial honestly."
The king laughed once—low and thoughtful.
"Dangerous words," he said.
"…But honest."
He raised his hand.
"The team remains in the Kingdom."
Murmurs exploded across the hall.
Yumi felt her heart race.
But deep underground—
Far from the throne—
A presence stirred.
"So the king noticed him," a voice whispered.
"No matter."
"Soon… the law itself will burn."
