Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Laxus

### Chapter 29: Laxus

"Great!"

Happy and Elfman both jumped up in excitement.

"Next time, I will definitely become an S-Class mage too!"

Natsu had a look of envy on his face. He also had a reason to become S-Class; perhaps as long as he became S-Class, Igneel would return.

"Congratulations, Mira, Riku, on becoming S-Class mages. Also, Riku, thank you."

Cana was very grateful to Riku. She heard from Gildarts that she said it when she was drunk. She often got drunk, and as for what she said after getting drunk, how could she remember?

But thanks to Riku telling Gildarts, the father and daughter were able to recognize each other. Otherwise, who knows how long it would have taken.

"No need to be polite."

He had known for a long time that Cana was Gildarts' daughter; he just hadn't found the right time to tell Gildarts.

Being able to reunite Gildarts and Cana made him feel good, and it also resolved a matter on his mind.

It would be even better if Gildarts could give up on the 100-Year Quest because of this.

Fairy Tail.

"Riku and Mira both promoted to S-Class mages?!!"

"That's really amazing!"

"Wonderful! The guild has two more S-Class mages now!!"

"Riku, Mira, congratulations on promoting to S-Class mages!"

"Aren't they the strongest couple in the guild?!"

Everyone in the Fairy Tail guild congratulated Riku and Mira one after another. Having any new S-Class mage in the guild was a great joyous event.

"?! Cana is actually Gildarts' daughter?!"

Gray was a bit dumbfounded hearing this news. Cana had joined the guild earlier than him.

"That's how it is! I'm so happy!"

Gildarts ran and jumped around while hugging Cana.

"So annoying! Put me down! Think of something!"

Cana somewhat regretted acknowledging Gildarts now. Since knowing she was his daughter, he had been clinging to her constantly.

Makarov jumped onto the bar and shouted:

"To celebrate Mira and Riku successfully promoting to S-Class mages, and also for the reunion of father and daughter Gildarts and Cana!"

"Today we are going to have a big feast!!"

"OHHHHHHHH!!!"

Hearing Makarov's words, everyone in the guild shouted in excitement.

"Let's party hard today!!"

"Wooooooaaaahhhhh!! I'm fired up!!"

...

The guild started a banquet, eating, drinking, and having fun. Everyone sang and danced together, very lively. Riku also joined Natsu and the others, arms around each other's shoulders, jumping and playing.

He liked life in Fairy Tail more and more. In this world, there wasn't such heavy pressure of life, nor the need to intrigue against others. There was only the purest happiness and freedom.

The next day, Riku stepped onto the stairs leading to the second floor.

Although it was just an ordinary staircase, even a bit worn, only the guild's S-Class mages were allowed to go up.

The reason for not allowing others up was simple. On one hand, it was a privilege exclusive to S-Class mages. On the other hand, the difficulty of requests on the second floor was on a completely different level from those on the first floor.

To prevent guild members from undertaking such dangerous missions without permission, the second floor was only open to S-Class mages.

As soon as Riku reached the second floor, he saw a person sitting there.

"Yo! Riku, congratulations! Promoted to S-Class mage."

The person speaking had short blond hair, wore a leopard-print coat, had a lightning-bolt-shaped scar on his face, wore headphones over his ears, and had a cynical expression on his face. He looked like a delinquent. It was Laxus.

"Thank you."

Riku had joined Fairy Tail for a short time and had only met Laxus two or three times.

In this period, Laxus was very rebellious, and his personality was somewhat nasty. Although Riku knew Laxus cared about Fairy Tail deep down, making friends with someone who shouted all day about becoming the strongest in Fairy Tail and had terminal chunibyo... forget it, no need to make things difficult for himself.

"Riku, your strength is good. You use Lightning Magic, which I appreciate. How about joining the Thunder God Tribe and becoming my follower? I can let you be the captain of the Thunder God Tribe."

Laxus extended an invitation to Riku.

Hearing this, the corner of Riku's mouth twitched uncontrollably. To be honest, he didn't reject chunibyo, and he was somewhat chunibyo himself. But being chunibyo alone was fine; sharing chunibyo with others—that wasn't cool, that was dark history.

"Sorry! I don't like and have no interest in becoming someone else's follower."

The few members of the Thunder God Tribe worshiped Laxus, so they formed the Thunder God Tribe. But Riku didn't worship Laxus, nor did he like forming cliques.

"You dare refuse me?!"

Riku said disdainfully: "What? Can't I refuse? You are S-Class, I am also S-Class. Why should I become your follower? And what qualifications do you have to make me your follower?"

Laxus's face looked a bit ugly: "Brat, do you think becoming an S-Class mage makes you my equal? There is a huge gap in strength even between S-Class mages."

"So what? Do I have to become your follower just because I'm weaker than you? Then if I'm stronger than you, will you become my follower?"

"?!!"

Laxus raised his volume, and many people in the entire guild looked over.

"Riku and Laxus!"

"They aren't going to fight, are they?"
