After only a few hours, Neme had successfully cleared the entire usefullness of the 2nd floor.
Hundreds of Goblins and Kobolds had fallen to his blades, all of their mana stones being absorbed, efficiency raised further when he tested if he only needed to step on the stone to absorb it rather than bending down to grab up each and every single one.
So the only real delay was picking up monster drops themselves.
Seeing his boosted growth Neme picked up his pace further, looking to maximize his time within the dungeon before he'd need to leave to take another break to rest.
Even still dumping most of his gained stats from this dive into Strength and Agility while also dropping some occasionally into Endurance.
But just like falna adventurers even after one of his parameters reached D rank no option to level up was presented to him.
Now normally you'd just need to absorb enough excelia to meet the requirements to receive a level increase.
Though the method of gaining said excelia was up for debate.
Some claimed it would just accumulate normally as you slayed monsters, while others stated that you had to face and overcome a great challenge within the dungeon.
For example when Ais faced off solo with a floor boss in the anime, she managed to pull out the win and be allowed to rank up, but it came at a cost as she was heavily injured during that fight needing to be carried out of the dungeon and tended to by the top medics before she could accept the increase itself.
Though, knowing his own growth method and medium, Neme had a feeling he knew his own condition for ranking up.
The gods harvest Excelia from their 'children' absorbing it and enhancing their own power as gods, but if someone were to slay a god, what would happen to the accumulated Excelia?
Would it just be released into the atmosphere unleashing what it meant to be that god back to the world itself?
Or could he absorb that Excelia and by doing so achieve the requirement to rank himself up to Level 2.
As he began to carve his way into the third floor, Neme allowed his mind to wander ever so slightly.
Not enough to endanger himself, but enough to not waste time, allowing him to begin the required plot to ensure his survival.
Afterall even if he reached peak EX tier in all his stats its not like he could content with the level 4's, 5's, and 6 of the city.
That also being said he needed to determine suitable target for his first divine assassination.
As a mere level one he'd need to target a weak god, or goddess.
Since going after Loki, or Freya would be tentamount to suicide right now.
That being said he did have some morals as by far and away the weakest divine being on earth in Orario right now would have to be Goddess Hestia, but besides a bit of sloth and gluttony at Hephaestus's expense she hadnt really brought harm to humanity.
And even when she does get serious thanks to plot armour the debt her friend saddles her with make acquiring a familia all that much harder to do until the desperate protagonist shows up willing to accept any god or goddess who would have him.
So... who is a weak god or goddes who is not pure hearted and willing to go along with the divine mandate?
Well key among them would have to be, Ikelos, Set, and Thanatos Familias as far as evil gods are concerned with these three in particular choosing to side with Evilus.
Then there is Apollo the first god to lose a war game and be banished during the shows second season, meaning only after just little more than a month of Bell being an adventurer.
And lastly there was God Soma, a god so distracted with his desire to produce the perfect divine wine here on earth, to the point that he has turned his entire familia into drug addicted bandits who willingly extort, the lower ranks of their own familia members.
Who dive for treasure in the dungeon like they were starving and willing to do anything for a bite of food.
A god so lost in his own greed, that he had outright stopped even bothering to update his familia's status.
Among the many gods in Orario, Soma familia has got to be the overall weakest fitting the criteria for Neme.
Hell he might be able to buy off the familia members with Valis to allow him to just walk up and slay soma on the spot hahaha.
Sadly neme was not able to fully clear the third floor before exhaustion finally settled in on him once more.
Deciding to end his second dive and resurface to restock on his consumed supplies, all while getting some fresh food to eat and a new bed to rest his weary head in.
Thankfully for Neme with the pace he was going, even if he took seven hours off to eat and sleep he'd be more than capable of contending with the level ones, and two's that made up the Soma familia by the time his deadline was up.
All that would take after that was working up the nerve itself of slaying a real person... or in this case god.
As a peak level 1, Neme would still need to plan his attack all while getting in the proper mindset to slay a living thing.
Dungeon monsters had caused him to feel wronged at first but his mentality that this was just a game saved him from initial depression, but if it came to real flesh and blood.
That would surely affect him, almost enough to make him want to waste a few hours outside the city to slay some regular animals to develop a taste for blood to get over his aversion early before the deed needed to be done.
Thankfully the return to the entrance of the dungeon was successful, and he was able to leave just as the first waves of adventurers started to enter, with the rising sun signalling the start of a brand new day.
