Nora's POV
Lena's concerned voice drifts through the hallway, breaking through the quiet of our bedroom.
I remain motionless in bed, surrounded by my familiars, having nearly surrendered to sleep after collapsing here. Only ten minutes have passed since I lay down, but my mind seems desperate to escape into unconsciousness. Sleep offers the only refuge from the chaos threatening to overwhelm me.
"She looks completely drained," James responds from somewhere in the hall. "More emotionally than physically, I think."
"What exactly happened to her down there? I can't stop worrying about it. Traveling to Hell and surviving it... that's not something people just bounce back from."
"Not for ordinary humans, no," my husband continues. "A human might suffer lasting damage from such an experience. But Nora isn't human."
"I don't just mean the physical toll," Lena's voice wavers with concern. "I'm scared for her."
