Nora's POV
"James, stop!" I shout, shooting to my feet with such force that my belly collides with the table edge. The sharp pain makes me wince, but I push through it and keep moving. "You cannot step outside!"
"I'll rip them to shreds before they can even think about using fire," he growls, his voice dripping with menace. "They should know better than to set foot on Vivian Hill property."
He's absolutely right about that. Since I can't match his speed, I slow my pace and press one hand against my stomach, waiting for the others to join me in the hallway so we can move into the foyer as a group.
"I had a direct conversation with their alpha," Charlette states with perfect composure. "She gave me her word that we wouldn't face any further complications. This is witch territory, and every supernatural creature in the area knows that." She extends her hands forward, using her magic to push James back from the door. He stumbles slightly and makes a sound of irritation.
