Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

The door fell down and the two-headed dog, standing 1.5 meters tall, leaped toward Sack.

Sack ran with his sword, stumbled, and rolled, luckily dodging the dog.

Sack quickly got to his feet, grabbed his sword, and took advantage of the fact that the dog had turned its attention to Amanda.

Cut!

Blood!

To Sack's surprise, with one cut, the sword completely severed one of the creature's hind legs, and a foul odor seeped out shortly after.

In the midst of the adrenaline rush, Sack made several more cuts before the dog turned toward him.

When the dog managed to turn around, it could only drag its hindquarters, allowing Sack to stab the tip of his sword once into the forehead of each of the two heads.

...

Sack didn't think too much about it. He placed his hand in the foul-smelling blood to hide its smell, then covered Amanda's clothes and white hair.

She didn't reply, she just took Sack's hand and they both ran out of the place.

Sack's hands were shaking, they were a little sore and he was somewhat nervous, yet he was fighting to survive.

A zombie appeared in front of them and Sack cut its head in half after swinging his sword. When they reached the stairs, there were more zombies.

Sack saw where there should have been an elevator, but it was empty, with only a steel cable hanging down.

"Take the bandages out of the backpack," Sack said cautiously.

He bandaged his hands and told Amanda to hold him.

She leaned her body against Sack's back and wrapped her delicate arms around his neck.

Sack slid down the cable, slowing his speed by squeezing the cable he held in his hands with some force.

When he reached the bottom, Sack peered out carefully and saw two exits, one clearer than the other.

He slung a backpack over his shoulder.

"We'll run that way," Sack said.

She nodded.

The two ran, Sack cutting down three zombies in the process.

As they ran,

dozens and dozens of zombies heard them and ran after them. While they were running, a rotten hand emerged from the ground and grabbed Amanda's right shoe, causing her to fall. She fell to the ground, losing her balance, and saw Sack's back moving away. She wanted to scream for help, but she didn't want to be a hindrance. She closed her eyes as she heard the zombies approaching, when suddenly she felt someone lift her up.

"What are you doing? Ask for help if you need it," said Sack, who lifted Amanda onto his shoulder and began to run, looking around until he saw a large trash container.

He opened the trash container, threw Amanda inside, and then quickly climbed in himself.

"Damn, this is exhausting," thought Sack.

The container was empty, inside there was only grayish or black dust, perhaps from trash that had decomposed over time.

Amanda hugged Sack tightly. She had been alone since her parents died, and some guys had caused her to be sent to this place for refusing to prostitute herself. They hadn't even allowed her to perform the awakening ceremony at the university ceremony.

Now in front of her was Sack, who hadn't hesitated to help her at a time when anyone else would have abandoned her.

"If those zombies open the container door, it means they have a certain degree of intelligence and don't hunt stupidly," Sack concluded, but after a while, nothing happened.

The two lay inside the container.

"Don't be quiet again, you hear me?" Sack said.

She nodded, and he stroked her white hair, now stained with the blood of the zombie dog.

"Where do you live?"

She gave him her address.

"Can I go take a shower when we get out of here?" he asked casually.

"Yes, but my apartment is small," she said.

"As long as it has a bathroom and I can take a shower, that's enough for me," he said.

...

Night fell, the zombies strangely stopped making noise, and it was cold again.

Sack placed his blanket over Amanda.

"What are you doing?" she asked, somewhat nervous and scared.

"I'll find a way out, wait here for me," he said.

"No, don't go, it's dangerous," she said.

Sack reached out his hand and caressed her cheek, then leaned in and kissed her suddenly on the lips. She didn't resist.

"I'll definitely take you to eat that vanilla ice cream," he said, and a few seconds later he opened the trash can.

...

Sack knew it. He wasn't prepared. He was weak, and the more days that passed, the weaker he would become, having to ration water and food.

"System, activate the S-rank card and show me where the strongest monsters are," Sack commanded in his mind.

[Good luck, host]

...

To Sack's surprise and benefit. He felt his senses sharpen, the darkness was no barrier, and he felt countless years of experience flowing through his mind.

Step by step.

Several four-legged and two-legged creatures, covered in darkness that made them difficult to distinguish, opened their grotesquely toothed jaws and attacked Sack.

An impassive and serene look.

Cut!

Cut!

Cut!...

Countless cuts sliced through the life of every creature that dared to threaten Sack.

A creature with the body and wings of a bat floated in the sky, but with a huge humanoid skull with horns on either side.

The creature opened its jaws and hundreds of poisonous bone needles shot out of its mouth.

Upward cut!

One cut was enough to turn each needle to dust. Taking advantage of the confusion, like an experienced swordsman, Sack jumped.

In midair, Sack swung his sword, and a powerful aura slash cut off the monster's head and sliced through several buildings at once.

...

At dawn, the smell of blood spread throughout the ruined city. Sack, who was covered in blood, set about extracting the monster cores from each creature he had killed.
