Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Some time had passed, and Sack felt someone tugging at his black coat.

When he opened his eyes, Sack saw Amanda, still lying on his chest.

"What's going on?" he asked sleepily, without raising his voice.

"I think there are creatures around," she said nervously.

A few seconds later, Sack could hear snorting and footsteps outside.

It was still nighttime, and about 16 hours had passed.

Sack placed his blanket over Amanda's shoulders, covering her with two blankets.

He brought his backpack closer, opened it, and began to feel around inside. Shortly after, he turned on his cell phone to illuminate the contents of the backpack.

In the backpack were cookies, water, toast, dried fruit, dried meat, bandages, soap, and a small flashlight.

He took the flashlight and immediately turned off his cell phone.

When he turned on the flashlight, it gave off a dim light, but he considered it adequate.

He took two slices of toast and a bottle of water.

"Look in your backpack and choose some food, but not too much," he said.

Sack had read a little about dungeons, and although they were chaotic places, they all allowed the use of exit portals as long as the main monster was defeated.

...

After they both ate in silence and drank water, they hugged again, with Sack leaning against a wall in the darkness.

...

When 20 hours had passed, the sun came out again, and Sack felt somewhat relieved to see the light again.

"I want to... go to a bathroom," she said, somewhat embarrassed.

"Amanda, we can't afford to look for a bathroom. We don't even know what's in this place. Let's go out and use any room," Sack said calmly.

Amanda nodded, and they both opened the old door of the place where they had appeared.

When they stepped out into the hallway, there was a strong smell of dust. Sack opened the second room to the right of the room they had used as a shelter.

He inspected the room and said to her,

"Go in."

She nodded.

A few minutes later, she came out. He was about to go in, but she held him back.

"I'm sorry," she said, then let him go. She realized she couldn't be too capricious; she was afraid he would get bored and abandon her.

Sack went in, found a corner of the room, urinated against the wall, shook his member, put it away, and came back out.

...

After relieving themselves, they both returned to the room they had shared the night before. Sack looked out from where there was only a window frame, because there was no glass or anything.

He looked around and saw that everything seemed clear.

"What shall we do? I don't think we can just stay here," said Amanda, somewhat uncertainly.

"That's true, but where can we go? What can we do? This place is very large, and I can see a forest in the distance," thought Sack, and then he said to Amanda, "Let's wait a while to see what kind of creatures appear." ...

The hours passed, and Sack had taken advantage of the daylight to check his supplies, as had Amanda.

"If we hold back, we'll last more than a month. But we'll be weak and we'll die in the end. Another way to get out of here is to kill a level C monster and get a return crystal. But who knows what they'll do to us if we leave this place without clearing the dungeon," Sack thought.

...

The day lasted only 12 hours, and the cold night returned.

They hugged each other, covered by blankets.

"Are you scared?" she asked him.

"A little. It would be strange if I weren't, but I would go crazy if I were alone in the middle of this darkness, listening to those unpleasant sounds from outside," "Sack said and hugged Amanda a little tighter, then added, "Thank you."

"Thank you... thank you," she said, a little nervous, but she didn't mind him hugging her tighter; it even made her heart flutter a little.

Twenty hours later, the sun rose again. There was a rancid, putrid smell in the air. When Sack poked his head out through the space that allowed him to see outside, he saw grotesque zombies in numbers that easily exceeded the thousands.

Some zombies were walking up the buildings, and among the zombies were two- or three-headed zombie dogs, which were also walking up the buildings.

"Apparently, dying of dehydration or starvation was not an option," Sack concluded, then sighed as he tried to control the tingling sensation in his hands as he thought about the horrible death he was going to die.

"What rank are those dogs?" Sack wondered.

[They are beyond the range of perception.]

Sack approached Amanda, and she asked him,

"What's going on?"

"Eat and drink. We must be prepared. There is great danger outside," Sack said honestly.

Sack sat down, and after eating a packet of cookies and drinking half a bottle of water, he took the sword out of its sheath and looked at it.

The blade was silver and beautiful, the edge shining when the light hit it.

Amanda's face did not hide her fear or sadness; it was obvious that almost all the sacrifices were ordinary humans with weapons they could barely use properly. ...

Several minutes later, a snort was heard in the hallway, and a nearby door fell. Sack assumed it was the room where he and she had relieved themselves.

...

A few minutes later, the snorting sound was heard in front of the room where they were.

Amanda was curled up in a corner, holding the two backpacks in her delicate arms.

[Level E]

Outside, he saw the notification that told him the monster's level.

"If this sword is D-rank, it should be able to cut it. Attack, attack, attack, attack," Sack tried to shake off his fear and anxiety. The only things he had killed in his previous life were insects, and he did so using insecticide. It was obvious that he would be scared.
