Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

"Good afternoon, you are at the Awakened Association. What is your request?" asked Neira, an employee of the Awakened Association.

"I'm here to register as awakened. I woke up a few days ago," said Sack calmly.

Neira hadn't paid much attention to Sack; she had just been typing on a computer, and when he said he was going to register as awakened, she was just going to ask for his personal identification, but when she looked at him, she almost shuddered, although she tried to hide it.

"I need your ID to register you," Neira said, trying to sound professional.

Sack noticed a slight change in the way Neira was breathing.

"She seems a little nervous," Sack thought.

When Neira entered Sack's ID number, an image of Sack appeared on Neira's computer along with a message that read:

Status: dead or missing.

Cause: entered an abyssal dungeon. Someone left the abyssal dungeon.

Danger level: unidentified.

Since Neira had a younger sister and parents, she felt an instinctive fear. She didn't even know if the person in front of her was a person or a monster disguised as a human.

Neira reached for her phone, noticing Sack watching her. She prayed silently that he wouldn't notice anything strange, then made a call:

"Supervisor Selene. We have a request for awakening certification 9999."

A few minutes later, many people turned their gaze to a beautiful awakened woman with long black hair, white skin, and gray eyes, who was dressed in an elegant and formal suit consisting of a dark blue shirt, black vest and pants, black shoes, and a black tie.

She was Aleria, an A-rank swordsman-class awakened.

Aleria's body was beautiful, her breasts were large, and she did not appear to be more than 20 years old, but there were awakened ones who enjoyed longevity and youth at the highest levels.

Aleria approached Sack and asked him in a firm and formal tone to accompany her because she would be the one supervising his certification process.

...

A few minutes later, Aleria and Sack descended to the underground floors using a glass-walled elevator.

"Wow, the underground structure beneath the building is quite extensive," thought Sack as he saw that beyond the elevator there was a large area with laboratories, buildings, and even a coliseum.

When the elevator reached the end, the doors opened, and the two walked down a hallway with white lights that looked like a secret laboratory.

Sack was a little nervous. He looked at his cell phone and saw that he still had a signal.

"It's not like I can call anyone for help, but at least I can make sure I can still receive messages or calls from Amanda," Sack thought as he put his cell phone in his pocket.

...

In a room with gray walls and white lights, Sack sat in front of a metal table.

Aleria was on the other side of the metal table. When she finished reading a file, she threw the gray folder on the metal table and looked at Sack inquisitively, without letting her guard down.

"Yes, what the file says is true. But it is because of what that file says that I find the treatment I am receiving questionable. Despite having come out of the abyssal dungeon alive, I am not a criminal," Sack replied, acting with some firmness, although he was still a little nervous.

Although after using the S-rank card, Sack felt that he had undergone a change that made him braver and more determined, in the end he was still the same and did not want the scene that was going through his mind to become reality.

In his mind, Sack imagined himself surrounded by the awakened as if he were a villain, which led him to use his remaining S-rank card, unleashing chaos that would end with him becoming a criminal or a dead man.

Sack shook his head to try to erase the scene that kept repeating itself in his mind.

After hearing Aleria's words when she read the file, he realized that they had been following him.

"Hmm, I hope they don't take my cores," thought Sack, who shortly after heard his cell phone ringing.

"Sack, there are some guys in the apartment who want you to accompany them to the awakened association. What should I do?" Amanda said timidly, sounding a little scared.

"If you feel safer, leave your cell phone on and go with them. If they try anything, I won't be polite," Sack replied, looking firmly at Aleria.

He wasn't trying to act brave; he had never been overly cowardly, especially when it came to protecting his partner.

"Don't worry, we were just monitoring them to make sure they didn't exceed two weeks without checking in after the incident in the abyssal dungeon. It's the same in the case of a person becoming an awakened one," Aleria replied to calm Sack down.

...

Sack nodded and agreed with Amanda that she would keep the call active. He put his cell phone on speaker, then devoted himself to answering Aleria's questions....

Sack was taken here and there, first undergoing non-invasive medical tests to verify that he was still human, then taken to a white room where he had a CT scan, and so he spent most of the day.

When it was around 6 p.m., he was in a white hallway, sitting in a chair.

"Sack!"

Sack heard Amanda's pleasant voice approaching. She jumped into Sack's arms, he hugged her tightly, and they spun around a few times, kissed, and then sat down.

"Are you okay?" Sack asked her seriously.

"Yes, they didn't hurt me," Amanda said, calmer than before.

"That's good. I was a little worried," Sack said and kissed her on the forehead.

She hugged Sack until, a few minutes later, Aleria appeared. She approached them and said:

"Come with me. I'll take you to the awakened powers registration room."

Sack knew that when humans came to understand the dungeons and the powers of the system that each awakened possessed, they managed to create machines capable of recording the class and rank that each awakened possessed.

"System, what will appear in my record? Infinite Harem?" Sack asked, somewhat concerned.
