No one would think that another reality exists. If she told someone about it, it would sound like a joke. A big laugh is all she would get. A few moments later, Lisa finally understood. Her head was spinning at that moment. What she does is just close the door and return to the room, where nothing strange would happen. She sits down in the chair and just unlocks the computer, trying to distract herself to forget what happened. Because that wouldn't be easy to deal with.
She hears the door opening; the footsteps start approaching the room, and someone knocks on the door.
— Daughter! Can I come in? — Said a masculine voice behind the door.
— You can, dad — Lisa replied calmly, as if she recognized that voice.
The door opens, and it was John, with a brown sweatshirt, white t-shirt, and jeans. He approaches and sniffs Lisa's head.
— So, what are you watching? — John asks.
— The new Street Fighter that's coming out
— Lisa replied.
— I know that game; your uncle was a big fan of that game — Really? He never said anything.
— Yeah, he never talked about it because he was a pretty isolated guy — John lowers his tone of voice — So much so that we don't even know where he is today.
— Did you say something? — No, nothing; I didn't say anything.
The two look at the screen and see the trailer video for the movie "Street Fighter IV: The Renaissance of the Shogun". In the trailer, some landscape scenes are shown, along with several fights passing by, from cut to cut, along with lines from a character who seems to be the villain of the movie:
— "I want a tournament to decide the strongest warrior. Gather all the best fighters in Japan; to fight to the death, and whoever wins... Will have the right to rule all of Japan; after all, I'm getting old, and I don't want to decide the next ruler using descendants, faithful subjects, or anything like that."
And then the trailer ends with a big punch going towards the camera, and after the punch, a black screen shows the movie's logo and below, the release date: "08/24/2071".
— Wow, already?! It's coming up soon! — Lisa said, very anxious to see the movie.
— Hey, that's why I came — said John, taking his phone out of his pocket and starting to search the "Cinéfilia.com.br" website. He shows Lisa the two digital tickets.
— Would you like to accompany me to this event? — John asked.
Lisa gives John a strong hug, and he gets a little surprised, but returns the hug.
— Thanks, dad! — Lisa said, like a very happy child would respond after getting a gift.
— Come on, it's not a big deal — said John, smiling.
— You've been working too hard, so I just thought we could see it at the cinema. From the trailer, it seems like a fun movie, and it's for your age, so I won't have problems with the police... again.
— What do you mean for my age? — Lisa asked, separating from the hug.
— Didn't you notice? — John replied.
— The movie premieres on your 14th birthday.
John is walking through the city, with a black cape covering his torso, and face up to his nose, and a strong wind comes, and he gets very cold, until he sees a place that was still well-lit, it was the "cinefilia" cinema where he would go with Lisa to see the movie "Street Fighter IV: The Renaissance of the Shogun" was the view of this cinema, which made him remember the moment he bought the tickets.
— But dad, you spent a lot of money, last week I saw on the cinefilia website and the ticket was over 100 reais! — Lisa said, a little angry.
— Well... John puts his left hand behind his head — I talked to my boss, and he decided to give me a raise, and also, the release day is a holiday, so we have the whole day! How about that? Dad and daughter watching a movie at the cinema, and still having the rest of the day to hang out.
And after remembering all this, tears stream down John's eyes, and then, he opens the door, and enters the cinema.
Lisa and John are at the cinema door, and John looks at the line, and sees people pointing their cell phone at a QR Code, on a screen, and a message appears on that screen: "Move forward", and the person enters the cinema, and so it goes, but the line was huge. John and Lisa were at the very end of it. John observes the people in front of him, to see how much longer, and there were still a lot of people, John huffs with impatience, and he looks at Lisa. The girl seemed very excited, unlike John, who couldn't feel the same anxiety as the girl, and the line starts moving a little, and the two take a few steps forward, and John grabs his phone to check the time and it was six in the evening, and the movie session starts at six thirty in the evening, and ends at eight thirty at night.
— We shouldn't have come so early... — John said.
— At least we came, and we'll have plenty of time after the movie — Lisa replied.
— I'm forced to agree — John's response ends the conversation.
John looks up at the sky, and it was cloudy, but it didn't seem like it would rain, he started to feel cold, even wearing a coat. Until he starts hearing strange noises, like footsteps, but they were different, they were like a spider crawling on the wall, John looks at the people around him, and doesn't see anything, until he looks back. In a building next to the cinema, half-meter spiders, climbing the building, until the moment of the jump, and John notices and pushes Lisa to the ground, along with him, and the spiders arrive everywhere. Three of them fall on a car, scaring the driver and making him flip the car, two others fall on a person, biting him, making him have an uncontrolled behavior. He starts running towards other people with the intention of devouring them, and people start running and trying to escape from all that, many were succeeding, many weren't. John and Lisa get up and run from the place, and during this run, the city was already in chaos, people were dying, cars were crashing, a catastrophe was happening, and John loses sight of Lisa.
— LISA, WHERE ARE YOU LISA?! — John screams desperately.
John starts running everywhere looking for the girl, until he hears screams.
— DAD!!! HELP!!! — Lisa was screaming.
John follows the scream and sees Lisa, in the middle of a lot of people who were trying to escape. John runs, and stretches out his hand, Lisa does too, but the people totally desperate don't let her go with John. John manages to get close, and Lisa stretches out her hand, but Lisa disappears, and the people getting in the way don't let him find her, until John freezes, in shock, for not having been able to find her, and the street empties. John is stunned, and he starts to have a breakdown, it was too much information to process, his psychology was obviously affected, it's not easy to absorb all this. John falls to his knees, he feels angry at himself, for not having been able to do something as simple as grabbing someone's hand, and he cries silently.
"I don't remember much from that night, I only remember it was complete chaos. People were running in fear, in complete despair, from those things, those horrible things. Creatures simply hideous, and disfigured. We don't know how they were like that, where they came from, we don't know anything. I ran, and ran until I couldn't anymore, and then I heard the screams "of hers" I heard: "Daddy, Daddy, help!" For a good time, I was running after her, but I didn't find her anywhere, it seemed like I arrived late. I fell to my knees on the ground, totally paralyzed, without strength, without determination to continue, without a path to follow, I was... Collapsing, and it didn't even take five seconds that I was there that I cried. I cried, in total silence, not so the monsters wouldn't come after me, not because I wanted a moment of mourning, because I already thought she had died, but because I didn't have strength, not even to give a single scream. The world is cruel, and everyone knows that, but of all its cruelties, taking my daughter away from me, was the worst of them."
John was inside the cinema, and looks around, and he was worn out, but there were no signs of creatures, and then he continues to enter, and starts checking the rooms. He looks at three rooms, and in the last one he sees two people sitting in the chairs of the first row.
Lisa was back in the mirrored world, and she was falling, but she was holding onto a tree
branch.
— So I'm here again... — Lisa thinks.
