Chapter 2 - THE ORIGIN

The nearest hospital to their home looked like an abandoned warehouse.

"The Hospital" was boldly written on it although the 'O' and 'l' were missing.

The family walked in, the depressing nature was giving everyone a bad vibe.

Finally they stepped into the hospital, greeted by the coolness although they didn't spot any air conditioners.

As they walked, something slapped Arnold on the face.

'If I allow Victoria to die, it will be as though I am the one who killed her and so, will earn her type'.

The plan was a bit far-fetched but it worked for Arnold.

In a daze he stepped ahead of Favour and stood beside Williams witnessing the energy used to carry Victoria throughout their journey.

He knew his plan wouldn't work with Williams following Victoria everywhere she went, so he had to come up with an idea to get rid of Williams.

Finally, they reached an empty nursing room and walked in.

It looked gloomy with poor lighting.

The stench was revolting and the scene was unbelievable.

"How did we end up here", Williams thought to himself.

In a gasp, Arnold snapped out of the daze.

Like a dream almost everything he had done was forgotten although he didn't forget the intent of killing Victoria.

Stretch marks spread across his face.

'What was I thinking? How could I go to such feets', his stomach turned imagining the terrible thoughts he dwelled on.

Finally, Favour arrived at the scene.

Arnold still felt as though such a feet wouldn't be that difficult to accomplish, considering the current state of Victoria.

Williams carefully dropped Victoria on the rusted bed as the state of the bed looked rather underwhelming.

Williams had worry spread across his face.

He had never thought of his wife to be at the hospital due to gaining a new ability.

Arnold, on the other hand, stayed at the back of the pack.

He tucked his arms in his pockets as he looked away from Victoria.

He was never grateful ever since he got adopted.

The sudden loss of his parents was devastating. He had never seemed to gain happiness ever since.

Arnold stared at Williams faintly hearing his conversation with the other doctor.

"She just had a sudden coma", Williams tried to explain to the doctor.

The doctors clothes were ragged and dirty. His voiced cracking as though he had been shouting all day and his body odour was uncalled for.

Arnold looked at the hospital and the environment.

'Is this really the best they could do?'.

Finally, Williams came back after talking to the doctor for about ten minutes.

"Lets head over to the waiting room and wait for your mom there", Williams then directed his gaze towards the room he was gesturing to.

Arnold rolled over his eyes and followed along.

Williams is a bit overprotective.

He heights about 5ft 6inches but possesses a rather non-risky attitude.

He prefers to play it safe.

One of the reasons why he vowed to rarely use his abilities in public.

Arnold, though hated the attitude of Williams.

He had an ego. One that could not be quenched.

Some may say, faith led to his inability to get a sacred type.

His attitude didn't go well with that of neither Victoria nor Williams.

Williams sometimes noticed the sudden eargency of Arnold but told him it wasn't something to rush.

Sometimes patience gets you the best results.

Arnold hated to hear this.

He wanted powers and he wanted them fast. Any type would do for him as long as it had cool abilities.

Williams often told Favour that his powers were handed on to him by his parents in a greenish orb containing all the constellations.

This wasn't too far from the truth. His powers were handed down to him as a gene.

The fractal type is almost as common as the Salem type which makes most people believe they possess the same power.

In the case of Williams and Victoria, the distinction was pretty clear.

Williams seemed more capable and able to deal with his powers while Victoria looked weak and defenseless. Attributes not found in the Salem type.

Williams may have a strong mind and body but he lacked a strong heart.

Loved ones, property and many other thing made him feel regretful when he shouldn't.

Arnold didn't consider the odds. He knew that these powers belonged to him and not his parents.

His aunt too weak, her husband too fragile.

'None of them deserve it', Arnold thought as he looked over his shoulder to face Williams.

They arrived at the waiting room and were let in.

It is the most beautiful room in the department.

Decorative lights and a standing fan seemed like the best thing that this hospital could afford.

Although Williams hated it too, he had no other choice.

The next hospital wasn't for miles and he was running out of energy. Plus, it was getting pretty late and they needed somewhere to stay.

In a cellular level of the coma experienced by Victoria, the abilities caused an unfair reaction in the body of Victoria causing her to faint.

Just like the spark of a light bulb in the midday sun - sudden and without control.

It caused her body to lose control which led to her fainting.

This was a lot for Williams to take in but for Arnold, it felt like every normal day.

His both parents, he described as legacy and losing them, set the stage for emotionless living.

Once it got a bit later, Arnold, Favour and Williams bid Victoria goodbye and hoped her a speedy recovery.

"Bye mommy, hope you get better", Favour faintly added with warm tears flowing down after her mother had woken up.

"She would have to stay here for three more days. We noticed a sudden seizure in the movements of her cells which if not treated possibly, could lead to death", the doctor roared at Williams.

"Don't worry, she will be fine".

Williams tried to wipe the frown off his face firmly holding onto the doctors words.

'Honestly, I don't even know why we came here and why we would ever believe that doctor', Arnold glanced as he left the room, his boots leaving a sound at every step.

The floors were unbearable like puke used as mopping water and only Arnold seemed to have noticed it.

His ignorance was indulged with his huge ego. Possibly even more than he could handle.

Arnold walked down to the car and laid by the side of it.

Winessing the eye gripping sight of eye lasers couldn't leave Arnold's mind.

"Imagine how cool I would be with a sacred type", Arnold then thought to himself eyes glimmering through the infinite stars in the night sky.

Although with all that happened, one thing was made clear, 'Cell capacity equals type evolution'.
