"Take me with you! Take me with you!"
"Goddess wants to play too!"
Leona's eyes were practically shining.
She had just escaped those dry, dull, utterly unbearable days in the Sunlight Palace, and the moment she came out, she ran into something this interesting.
Playing basketball with asteroids—
whoever came up with this idea was an absolute genius!
Without hesitation, she made a few simple adjustments to her spacecraft, changed direction, and flew straight toward Lin Fei.
"Hm?"
Lin Fei quickly noticed the spacecraft approaching him.
After all, in this region of space, there was only him, the drifting asteroids, and nothing else.
Standing on the Illusory Scale Flash Steed, hands on his hips, he watched the spacecraft fly over.
"Why is it coming toward me?"
The spacecraft slowed from fast to slow, stopping not far in front of Lin Fei.
"Switching to autopilot."
The hatch on top of the craft opened, and Leona jumped out.
"Oh—seeing you play alone looked boring. Let me join."
Lin Fei: "?"
He tilted his head slightly, silently wondering what this girl was talking about.
But as he looked at her more closely, he recognized her identity.
This wasn't the Sun Goddess Leona?
Wasn't Vine and Dukao supposed to be receiving her today?
Why had she run over here instead?
"I can't hear you."
Lin Fei spoke up, using anomalous energy as a medium to transmit sound through space.
"Ah—sorry, sorry. I forgot we're in space."
Leona froze for a moment, then awkwardly scratched her cheek.
Seeing Lin Fei's unmoving expression, she'd thought he couldn't understand her.
Turns out she'd simply forgotten herself.
After all, growing up, she'd only left the Sunlight Civilization once, and she'd never truly entered open space—only stayed inside spacecraft cabins.
This time, she used dark energy as a medium.
Lin Fei immediately heard her voice.
"I said—seeing you play alone, let me join."
"Sure."
Seeing how outgoing and familiar Leona was acting, Lin Fei didn't refuse.
Playing alone was a bit boring.
"Haha, you're a pretty decent guy."
Leona laughed happily.
She looked toward the asteroid-made hoop and backboard.
"Seriously, how did you even think of using asteroids as balls in space? That's straight-up genius."
"You've got that wrong."
"Oh?"
"Genius is just seeing the threshold to my door."
Lin Fei flicked the Illusory Scale head armor on his forehead with a finger.
"Damn, that's cool! Goddess loves that line!"
Leona's eyes sparkled.
Lin Fei's words perfectly matched her chuunibyou tendencies.
"Come on, come on—let's play!"
Leona's attitude toward Lin Fei instantly warmed.
"So I'll be the goalie first. You attack."
Lin Fei pointed at the asteroid goal, then at the floating rocks in the belt.
"Twenty shots each. If the asteroid goes through the goal, it counts."
"Alright! Then this goddess will go first."
Leona didn't stand on ceremony, her expression eager to try.
"Be careful."
"Trying to break through my goal won't be that easy."
Lin Fei stepped onto the Illusory Scale Flash Steed and positioned himself in front of the asteroid goal, hands on his hips.
"Heh—this goddess is strong, you know. Watch this—one shot, soul-piercing strike!"
Leona gathered power, confidence written all over her stunning face.
Stellar energy converged on her leg, and she kicked hard.
Boom!
"Huh?"
Under Leona's stunned expression, the asteroid she kicked didn't fly forward at high speed, pass Lin Fei, and enter the goal.
Instead—
It exploded on the spot.
Lin Fei's expression behind his visor also turned a little awkward.
He'd been fully prepared to react the instant the asteroid flew toward him.
And then…
It just exploded?
"Cough—wait, wait. That was a mistake. A mistake!"
Leona finally snapped back to her senses, her face turning bright red.
This was just too embarrassing.
"It's fine. Everyone makes mistakes."
"Cough—then I'll continue."
"This time I definitely won't mess up!"
Leona adjusted her energy output.
Her raw strength was enormous.
As a god-body capable of manually manipulating nuclear fusion, the energy inside her was like an oversized power bank—practically inexhaustible.
But brute force wasn't her forte.
Even in zero gravity, pushing a hundred-meter-wide asteroid to extreme speed still required considerable force.
So this time, she activated stellar-energy drive technology.
Boom!
Energy exploded between Leona's foot and the asteroid.
This time, the asteroid didn't shatter.
Instead, it shot toward Lin Fei at extreme speed.
"Nice one!"
Lin Fei's anomalous energy instantly surged into his leg.
He leapt high, his right leg glowing faint red, and kicked the oncoming asteroid head-on—
Smashing it to pieces.
Fragments flew in all directions.
The Illusory Scale Flash Steed caught Lin Fei and returned him to the center of the goal.
"Not bad—you actually blocked this goddess's attack."
"Heh, small potatoes."
"Then again!"
Leona grew more and more excited.
Back in the Sunlight Palace, where would she ever get a chance to play this wildly?
If she stayed there any longer, she felt like she'd rust away.
Now, she felt energy coursing through her entire body.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Asteroids were kicked one after another.
Fragments shattered under Lin Fei's fists and feet.
Very quickly, all twenty shots were used up.
"This goddess scored five goals—not bad, right?"
Looking at her results, Leona nodded in satisfaction.
In truth, Lin Fei had let her have it.
With Leona's straight-line kicks, he could've blocked every single one.
But this was just for fun.
If she didn't score even once, there'd be no game experience at all.
Leona stepped back onto her autopiloted spacecraft, switching positions with Lin Fei.
"This time I'll guard. Come at me!"
"I'll show you this goddess's goalkeeping skills."
"Then watch closely."
Lin Fei spun in midair and delivered a roundhouse kick.
A hundred-meter-wide asteroid shot toward Leona at high speed, spinning violently.
"Straight at me? That's too easy—are you letting me win?"
Leona raised her hand, ready to crush it with nuclear fusion—
"Oh? Is that so?"
Lin Fei's lips curled slightly.
"Wha—?!"
Leona's eyes suddenly widened.
The asteroid, which had been flying straight at her, abruptly curved upward mid-flight—
Completely bypassing her—
Passing straight through the goal behind her.
"Coach, I want to learn that!"
…
Not far away.
Hao Shen, hidden in the shadows, watched Lin Fei and Leona happily playing asteroid basketball, utterly dumbfounded.
Wasn't Goddess Leona supposed to be heading to Blue Star?
How did she end up fooling around with this unknown god-body halfway there?
And this god-body…
He felt deeply uneasy.
Especially the energy he used—
Hao Shen couldn't identify what kind it was at all.
Yet it gave him an intense sense of threat.
Suddenly, Hao Shen's pupils shrank.
One of the asteroids Lin Fei had kicked—
The one Leona failed to block—
Traced a curved arc and flew straight toward him!
