"Before you throw it, pay attention to the rotation."
"And the force has to be balanced."
Lin Fei was teaching Leona the technique for throwing and curving projectiles.
In essence, it wasn't all that different from shooting a basketball.
The key difference lay in having far finer control over the force involved.
For Lin Fei, this wasn't a problem.
But for Leona, it was genuinely difficult.
She tried throwing condensed nuclear-fusion energy several times, but every attempt went straight—no curve at all.
One time, it even exploded right in her hand, blasting her away.
"Leona, are you okay?" Lin Fei asked.
"Hmph! I refuse to believe it! I'm the glorious Light of the Sun, Goddess Leona—are you telling me there's something I can't learn?!"
Leona was covered in ash, looking a complete mess.
Thankfully, she had a god-body; otherwise, that would've ended badly.
Unconvinced, she got back up and tried again.
"Before you throw it, stabilize your energy first. Otherwise, it'll explode again for sure."
Seeing Leona cup her hands together, forming another watermelon-sized energy sphere, Lin Fei reminded her from the side.
Leona did her best to control it.
If she were just throwing rocks, it would be somewhat tricky but not a big deal for her.
But throwing nuclear-fusion energy spheres was a completely different matter.
Her problem had always been poor control over high-powered techniques—that was precisely why Pan Zhen had sealed part of her stellar-drive authorization.
Releasing small-scale nuclear fusion, or even micro solar flares, wasn't an issue.
But now she had to manage propulsion force, rotation, and energy stability all at once.
That was brutally hard for Leona.
She stared intently at the energy sphere in her hands.
Carefully lifting it above her head, just as she was about to throw—
"Beep! Incoming communication detected!"
"Accept transmission?"
Boom!
The sudden interruption made Leona lose focus.
The energy destabilized—and exploded again.
"Damn it! Who is it?!"
"Interrupting this goddess's training—now I failed again!"
Blown away by the blast, Leona slammed into a nearby asteroid, embedding herself into it.
She crawled out of the crater, brushed the dust off her head and body, and angrily flew back to her spacecraft.
The communication display showed the call was from Blue Star, in the Red Crow Stellar System.
Only then did she suddenly remember—
She was supposed to be going to Blue Star.
"Crap!"
Having too much fun with Lin Fei, plus learning techniques from him, she'd completely forgotten about it.
"Cough, cough… um, Lin Fei, come over here for a second."
"Hm? What's up?"
Lin Fei, puzzled by her strange expression, still walked over.
Leona casually draped an arm over Lin Fei's shoulder, pulling him close until their faces were nearly touching.
"Lin Fei, we're good brothers, right?"
"…Huh?"
"Well, um, this goddess has a little problem right now. Think you can help me out?"
"What kind of problem? Did you spot an enemy?"
Lin Fei put one hand on his hip, eyeing the too-close-for-comfort Leona curiously.
"That's not it. It's just…"
Leona glanced at the spacecraft screen still flashing with the incoming call, then gave an awkward smile.
"I was supposed to be heading to Blue Star, but it looks like I'm late."
"Oh—so you want me to help you come up with an excuse."
Lin Fei immediately understood.
"Yes! That's it!"
Leona nodded rapidly.
"Hah, I thought it was something serious."
"Relax—leave this kind of small thing to me."
Lin Fei patted his chest confidently, the Illusory Scale armor clinking softly.
"Good brother!"
Leona hugged Lin Fei's arm tightly, practically wanting to kiss him.
But the communication alert was still sounding, so she quickly let go and accepted the call from inside her ship.
A thirty-two-inch holographic projection lit up, showing a group of people aboard the Giant Gorge.
"Haha, Old Du—you're all here?"
Leona laughed brightly and waved.
"Well, on my way to Blue Star, I ran into a friend."
"Because this goddess is just too charming, he invited me to stop by his place for a bit."
"I originally refused, but, well… it's hard to turn down such enthusiasm, right? So I stayed for a short while…"
"I've already left and am heading to Blue Star at top speed. I was just about to message you when you contacted me."
Leona lied with a completely straight face.
She couldn't very well say she'd been playing asteroid basketball and training techniques, after all.
She was the main god of the Blazing Sun, the Sun Goddess.
Being late on her very first visit to Blue Star would be mortifying.
"Oh, right—my friend even insisted on seeing me off. He's still here with me."
"I'll introduce him to you."
"Lin Fei, come over here a bit—yeah, a little closer… that's it…"
Leona beckoned Lin Fei over and pulled him into the holographic frame.
On the Giant Gorge.
Dukao, who had been listening to Leona's nonsense, twitched violently at the corner of his eye the moment he saw Lin Fei's face.
His blood pressure shot up instantly.
He had suspected Lin Fei earlier.
But that had only been speculation.
Now it was confirmed.
From the moment he'd seen the images Pan Zhen sent, up until seeing Lin Fei again now, Dukao's blood pressure had never gone down.
Qiangwei, meanwhile, wore a strange expression.
Why wasn't this guy staying at home like a normal person?
How had he ended up hanging out with Leona in outer space?
And judging by how close they looked, their relationship seemed… unusually good.
Just that—
If she didn't know Lin Fei, she might actually believe Leona's story.
But she did know Lin Fei.
He lived in her house.
If Leona's "friend" had invited her over as a guest, then logically that "place" should've been Blue Star.
Yet they were clearly still in space.
Believing Leona's story would be absurd.
At first, she'd thought Lin Fei had kidnapped Leona.
But now it seemed… that wasn't quite the case.
Thinking back to Leona's loud, carefree personality the last time she came to Blue Star…
Qiangwei couldn't help thinking—
Had this Sun Goddess simply forgotten she was supposed to come to Blue Star?
And seeing Leona's cheerful smile on the screen, the likelihood seemed disturbingly high.
Leona pulled Lin Fei forward and began introducing him.
"This is Lin Fei. No need to talk about civilizations and all that—Lin Fei, go say hi to Old Du and the others."
"Hey, Qiangwei. Old Du. You're all here."
Leona: "?"
"Huh?"
"You never said you were from Blue Star!"
