Chapter 34 - Playing Basketball with Asteroids? Take Me With You!

Standing atop the Illusory Scale Flash Steed in flight mode,

Lin Fei couldn't help but recall the xianxia dramas he used to watch before transmigrating.

Sword-riding flight—

standing on a flying sword, soaring freely through the skies.

In a certain sense, what he was doing now counted as sword-riding too.

It was just that he wasn't stepping on a sword—

he was stepping on the Illusory Scale Flash Steed.

At this moment, boosted by Lin Fei's anomalous energy, the Flash Steed's speed far exceeded what it had been when he carried Vine around.

After breaking through the atmosphere,

he even spotted a satellite orbiting Blue Star.

Compared to the others nearby, it had a different shape—and was noticeably larger.

"This wouldn't happen to be DeNo.3, would it?"

He stopped and looked at it for a few seconds, but couldn't tell anything special.

Lin Fei himself didn't think much of it.

But inside the command center of Juxia No.1, Lian Feng was nearly scared out of her wits.

She had just detected a sudden surge of anomalous energy from Lin Fei.

Instinctively, she operated DeNo.3 to check what Lin Fei was doing—

worried he might be about to repeat yesterday's stunt and blow another hole somewhere.

Then—

Lin Fei's enormous face suddenly filled the entire screen.

And not just that—

It was a lopsided angle: his left cheek close, right cheek far.

Lian Feng's hand jerked, her heart pounding, and she nearly hit the attack button.

Thankfully, she reacted in time and realized it was Lin Fei.

Otherwise, things would've gone completely off the rails.

"General… why did Lin Fei run into outer space?!"

Even so, she couldn't help complaining.

"What?!"

Not far away, Dukao—who was standing with Vine discussing the reception of Leona—froze.

He immediately rushed over.

"You're saying Lin Fei went into outer space?!"

"Look."

Lian Feng pointed at the screen.

It was still Lin Fei's huge face—

just from the opposite angle now.

Right cheek close, left cheek far.

Dukao sucked in a cold breath, feeling a headache coming on.

He turned to Vine.

"Do you have any way to contact Lin Fei?"

"…Yes."

Vine was also stunned. She subconsciously answered—then suddenly realized something.

"N-no, that's not right. That's just the phone we got him yesterday."

"He's run that far—there's no signal at all."

Vine felt her scalp go numb.

Lin Fei had been perfectly fine when she left this morning.

How long had it been since then?

And he'd already flown beyond the planet's flat-flow layer?!

At that moment, Lin Fei seemed to lose interest in DeNo.3.

He turned and flew away at extreme speed.

Dukao pressed a hand to his forehead.

No contact.

No idea what Lin Fei was planning.

All he could do was hope Lin Fei didn't cause any major incident.

After all—

Today was the day the Sunlight Civilization's main god, Leona, was arriving.

Lin Fei had no idea how many people's blood pressure he'd just spiked.

He stepped on the Illusory Scale Flash Steed, freely soaring through space.

Massive asteroids drifted past him one by one.

Ahead lay an endless sea of stars.

Behind him, the blue planet grew smaller and smaller.

This kind of scene—

Only by experiencing it firsthand, without any external aid, seeing it with one's own eyes—

could one truly feel the awe of the universe.

If he were an ordinary person,

he would've needed layer upon layer of protection just to reach outer space.

But Lin Fei needed none of that.

As a super-beast warrior with anomalous energy equivalent to 0.2 black holes,

neither the extreme cold of space nor the oxygenless vacuum posed any threat to him.

Admiring the scenery while flying onward,

he eventually put enough distance between himself and Blue Star.

As he passed through an asteroid belt,

Lin Fei slowed the Flash Steed to a stop.

He surveyed the slowly drifting rocks.

Rubbing his chin, he muttered,

"Before transmigrating, I was pretty good at both soccer and basketball."

"If I hadn't transmigrated, I'd probably have led the national team to win the World Cup after graduation."

"Come to think of it… I'm also kinda curious what sea cucumber tastes like."

With that, Lin Fei leapt off the Flash Steed and landed on a small asteroid nearby.

He stretched and warmed up, loosening his body, his thoughts wandering freely.

"Alright then—"

Behind the blue-tinted visor, his eyes flashed with light.

The corners of his mouth curled upward.

"Let's begin!"

"Ha!"

Lin Fei kicked off with one leg, delivering a powerful strike to a small asteroid roughly two hundred meters in diameter.

With anomalous energy infused into that kick—

The asteroid instantly shot off in one direction.

Right after that, Lin Fei followed up with an elbow strike, sending another nearby asteroid flying along the same trajectory.

Then another shove—

another asteroid launched.

Each of the asteroids he struck broke free from their original drift paths and flew out of the belt.

At the same time—

The Illusory Scale Flash Steed switched to autonomous mode, intercepting and positioning the asteroids.

Gradually, it gathered them together into a large square frame—

like a basketball backboard.

That wasn't all.

Like a sculptor, Lin Fei continued adjusting and arranging them, finally forming a massive circular hoop made entirely of asteroids.

"Whew—this is actually a pretty good workout."

After finishing everything, Lin Fei wiped sweat that didn't exist.

Even without perspiration, the exertion had noticeably drained his stamina.

At the same time, he could feel his anomalous energy increasing ever so slightly.

"Warning! Warning!"

"Powerful unknown energy detected!"

"What the hell—what's going on?! Is someone trying to attack the Sun Goddess with asteroids?!"

Red alerts echoed inside the cabin.

Leona stared at the screen displaying Lin Fei pushing asteroids around and couldn't help complaining.

"Wait, aren't all the planets around here lifeless?"

"Where did this guy even come from?"

"…Though that armor does look pretty cool."

"Huh?"

As the camera zoomed out, she suddenly noticed—

The direction Lin Fei was sending the asteroids wasn't toward her at all.

Instead, they were flying toward a circular stone frame formed by dozens of small asteroids.

And just as an asteroid was about to collide with the ring—

It suddenly spun in midair, changed direction at an absurd angle, and curved back—

Straight through the stone hoop.

Leona suddenly recalled something she'd seen on Blue Star—

People playing basketball on outdoor courts.

She hadn't thought much of it back then.

But now—

This wasn't basketball.

This was asteroid basketball!

Leona's eyes instantly lit up.

"Damn—this is awesome!"

"Take me with you! Take me with you!"
