Chapter 8 - Arc 1:Kamiya Tokiyama. Chapter 7: The battles of Angels Part 2

Undine merely smiled. "I am simply obtaining compensation, do you know how many materials it took to create a corpse angel? If we ignore the soul of the Outer World era used in creating the spirit origin it would still be a large price."

The Six Chained did not offer a rebuttal. Instead, the golden eye in its chest contracted until it was nothing but a pinprick of light, and the six massive chains pinning her to the sky began to glow with a heat that turned the black water to steam instantly.

"The price of a soul is not for you to weigh," the Six Chained spoke, it's voice like grinding metal. "I shall excise the debt from your feathers."

The chains bounding it's arms shattered and within a single movement it plunged both of them into its chests, it's eyes rippling like the surface of a pond.

The Six Chained pulled back and the shape of a gargantuan weapon began to take shape, the hilt was white, looking as if it was made from pure bone.

The blade was a silver and golden abomination that was made from flesh, it had countless small eyes all moving around. While upside down The Six Chained held the sword and pointed it at Undine.

Undine stared at the weapon with wide eyes before she exploded into blue mist and the pillar of black water she was standing in fell instantly.

But that was not enough to truly kill the spirit of water, within mere moments the Undine reformed in the air with a blank expression adored on her face. This time she was not holding her harp but a simple bow made from water, aimed directly at the gargantuan Six Chained.

But that was not her aim, all around the six Chained, similar Undines appeared numbering in nine hundred and ninety eight all aiming their bows at the six Chained.

Their figures many and they were all in the formation of a strange shape, the air around the six Chained shuddered as the Undines pulled back their bows.

A translucent cyan arrow began to form between them painting the proximity of the six Chained in a strange colour.

With it's sword in it's arm the six Chained merely glanced at the numerous figures before focusing on a single one who was still holding the harp.

The Undine spoke gently. "My existence is merely a creation to collect compensation, I do not really care what happens to me as long as I gain compensation, though it may not be much but stealing a sliver of your true bodies blood and vital essence is enough to create milions of lesser spirits for Undine."

She struck all the strings of her harp.

The Inverted Golden City far away shuddered and blinked, for a moment the world was pressed down by an incomprehensible pressure before being suppressed entirely.

"Goodbye and till we meet again Six." As Undine said that all the other clones released their arrows.

The sky fractured.

The nine hundred and ninety-eight arrows didn't fly through the air; they acted as needles, stitching the fabric of space itself. As they converged, they formed a geometric cage of cyan light—a Crystalline Abyss—that locked the Six Chained in a moment of frozen time.

The Six Chained roared, a sound that bypassed ears and vibrated directly into the marrow of anyone within miles. The gargantuan sword of bone and eye-flesh swept in a desperate arc, the blade's eyes weeping golden ichor as it tried to cleave through the conceptual trap. But Undine's final chord on the harp was the key.

The Inverted Golden City's shudder was a "Blink" of reality. In that millisecond, the laws of physics were suspended.

The cyan arrows reached the Six Chained's true form and, instead of piercing, they dissolved. They became a digestive fluid of pure spirit energy. The Supreme Fallen Angel's featureless skin began to peel away in shimmering golden flakes—vital essence and blood being harvested by the millions of microscopic "mouths" Undine had hidden within the melody.

"How dare you... scavenge... from the King's Heart!" The Six Chained's voice was distorted, fading as the blue mist of Undine's essence forcibly dragged the harvested divinity back into the spirit realm.

With a final, deafening crack, the golden light imploded. The Six Chained, wounded and depleted, was forcibly recoiled back toward the higher planes, its chains snapping upward like whipped serpents. The sky, once bathed in gold and blue, was left gray, scarred, and weeping a rain of warm, golden blood.

Kamiya did not understand what happened, if he were to count he would have realised that only three minutes passed through that entire confrontation.

As he was contemplating, a large drop of golden blood fell before them and Nuzres suddenly became energetic. Her glassy gray eyes returned to normal and she immediately broke out of Kamiyas arm and went towards the drop of blood. "This is a wonderful harvest, it is quite rare for an Angel to bleed, if i devour this i should be able to evolve."

As if attracted to her, the golden blood went close to her and began to seep into her skin.

As the golden ichor of a Supreme Fallen Angel seeped into Nuzres' skin, the water around her began to boil, though she didn't seem to feel the heat. Her small frame twitched, and for a moment, her silhouette flickered—growing taller, then shorter, then sprouting ghostly appendages that resembled the very chains that had just vanished from the sky.

"Nuzres? What are you doing?" Kamiya asked, shielding his eyes from the sudden radiance emanating from her.

The lead Water Spirit hissed, backing away with her hands raised in a defensive gesture. "Quiet, fool! She is consuming the Divine Residue. If she survives the rejection of that blood, she will become something far more dangerous than a simple 'Hellspawn.'..well maybe, the ranks of Hellspawns aren't stable"

Kamiya watched in a mix of awe and horror. He realized then that Nuzres wasn't just his "attendant"—she was a scavenger of the highest order. She had unintentionally triggered a conflict between two titans just to feast on the scraps.

Just as he was about speak out, the underwater city shuddered and am earthquake began to shake the river bed. Kamiya did not wait for Nuzres to finish her transformation, he grabbed her arm and turned to the lead Spirit. "Get us out of here or your spirit queen is going to die with me?."

The lead spirit clicked her tongue. "Shut up you useless Divine King, I would have done that without you telling me, now follow me."

//Useless, hey aren't I carrying the hope of the spirit race?!!// Kamiya thought with outrage but he still shut up and followed after spirit though he does not know how we was gliding in the water and he did not want to question it.

The three swam through the river currents as the seabed began to collapse, deep and large crevices began to appear and the canyon where the river resided began to rupture, sending out bits and pieces of large rocks that tumbled down into the River.

Kamiya stumbled as he dodged a few, some even at the brink of landing straight stop his body and even Nuzres but Kamiya was holding onto her hand hardly, his arm felt like burning despite being in water.

The lead spirit was swimming naturally as a water spirit could, she naturally and gracefully avoided the falling rocks.

This kept going in for thirty minutes before the apocalyptic sounds ceased, they were finally out of the clear.

"There is a Village at the end of this river so I'll drop you guys there." There was no warmth within the spirits words, currently she was holding back on killing Kamiya and Nuzres since it was their fault her city was destroyed.

Now she has to go create another spirit well and wait for her other kin to resurrect since they surely have not survived the physical bodies getting crushed.

But these two also brought about a benefit to their polluted river, the drops of blood of an angel could help evolve the water spirits living there and even give birth to more talented ones.

She has suffered a loss but also gained something so she wasn't all that mad and besides the boy did promise to help revive the spirit queen and making enemies with a Fallen God.

Kamiya gave the lead spirit a blank expression. "Thanks for helping us in guess, even though you did try to kill us at first too, my name is Kamiya Tokiyama by the way so do not call me little King please."

The spirit crossed her arms on her chest and sighed a bit, she was not the type to answer to someone introducing their names as she has literally killed the ones that did bur seeing as he is here ally she might as well put her pride elsewhere. "Whatever, You can call me Hydra, I am the eternal leader of all water spirits but at the same time not really, the angel that fought with the divine court king is the current 'Queen' of water spirits. If you need my help you can summon me by calling upon my name near a body of water."

Kamiya looked at the spirit incredulously, why didn't he tell him that when he was about to leave the bridge before.

Noticing his gaze, Hydra rolled her eyes and pointed at Nuzres. "At first I thought you would be fine dealing with the spirit goddess finding you but after witnessing that entire situation, in have realised that you are clearly weak and lack any offensive abilities and since the spirit goddess failed with an angel, she will send a Hero after you and lending you my powers is not a bad deal."

Kamiya was speechless at her words, sure he was weak but why was she saying it like he was going to be weak forever, well sure he was but he was too prideful to say it out loud.

He did not reply to her and continued following after while Nuzres hands seemed to have melted onto his, soon they reached the end of the river.

Hydra waved at them and the water shifted until it carried them out the water and placed them upon land, Hydra peeked out of the water to make sure they weren't in danger and then silently went back.

Kamiya stood still on the grassy land, his clothes were undoubtedly wet, he turned to look at Nuzres and immediately froze.

She was staring at him with her head tilted, he couldn't see her eyes because they were covered by some kind of black metallic looking face guard that had three interswitched spikes.

Her hands now felt melted to his literal skin as he could not let go of her, her clothes have changed too and resembled a long white and gold embroidered short dress with chains hanging on the fabric.

"Heheheh~ Kamiya....it seems you want to refine me this early, you're authority is still weak to do that." She giggled and covered her mouth with her other arm as she spoke.

Kamiya strained a smile. "Nuzres, I know you're joking but can you please let go of my arm, i am still trying to figure out my thoughts."

Nuzres thought for a moment and let him go, their arms separating from each other. Kamiya rubbed the separated arm and closed observed Nuzres. "So you've evolved successfully?."

Nuzress nodded and flicked the face guard, it instantly dissolved into dust and entered her satchel. With a dazzling smile and her jade like eyes which not had a green slit glowed with excitement. "Yes Kamiya, I also obtained the ability of 'Arresting' and 'Imprisoning'."

Kamiya raised his brows at the change of tone she displayed but he ignored it and decided to ask her later, he turned around and observed the forest behind him and as he did he clutched his head in pain as strange images began to appear in his mind.
