"So let me repeat this to make sure I got all the details correct. You found a weird-looking fruit in your room, which you ate promptly. But the taste was so disgusting, you ended up banging your fist on the table, and that somehow brought down the whole building?? And it also busted up your hand so bad that it was barely usable?"
A middle-aged man wearing a white doctor's lab coat asked speechlessly.
"That's right. That's exactly how it happened." Raiden, who was completely wrapped in bandages, with his right arm being in especially thick bindings, nodded with as much force as he could muster.
"What kinda fool do you take me for, boy?! Why would a Devil Fruit appear in your room out of nowhere?!" The doctor yelled at him in an exasperated voice.
"What fruit?? Are you talking about that disgusting fruit? With a taste so bad, no wonder it's called a Devil Fruit. Only a fool would eat it willingly. As for how it got there, how would I know?" Raiden kept talking nonsense with a straight face.
He had no other choice. After all, he couldn't really explain where he got such supernatural powers from anyway. He was still feeling the aftereffects of that punch until now. His right arm hurt like a bitch.
No wonder Deku kept crying throughout the show. After experiencing this pain once, he had no desire to experience something like that ever again.
The doctor, who tried to get more information out of him, was starting to feel tired. He waved his hand weakly towards him and exited the room without saying anything, leaving Raiden alone.
[Host, you realise you just lied to a Marine medical officer? That's technically a crime.]
"Shut up. What was I supposed to say? 'Oh, I inherited superpowers from an anime character? They'd think I'm insane." Raiden replied with a roll of his eyes.
[You don't need to worry about it. They already think you are insane. ]
"I said SHUT UP."

Marineford Headquarters, Fleet Admiral Room
"Have you figured out what kind of Devil Fruit that boy ate yet?" A strong man sat in the central seat, with big and wild afro hair and a small goatee on his chin. He was wearing small, round glasses as he questioned his subordinates, who were frantically looking through the book.
"Replying to Fleet Admiral, we have searched through all the records and books containing information about Devil Fruits three times. We are yet to find any exact match or anything even remotely similar to what that boy exhibited." An average looking Marine replied weakly.
"Alright, you are dismissed." Sengoku waved his hand, rubbing his head as an ever-growing headache set in as he looked at two documents on his desk.
One document contained detailed information about Raiden, from his parents to whatever he did in his life until now. The next document, however, just contained one picture, of a massive crater that spanned hundreds of metres wide and deep.
That's right, Raiden's punch didn't just destroy the building, it levelled the whole block, destroying all buildings within it. It was a good thing that all new recruits were in training and not at home, or there would have been massive casualties.
The culprit himself was sleeping blissfully unaware, while the Fleet Admiral got a headache while thinking about how to treat him.
The more he thought about it, the angrier he felt. He slammed his desk hard.
"Waste, such a massive waste. A fruit that powerful should have been given to someone like Garp; if we did, we would have already conquered those Four Emperors by now." He opened his drawer and took out a Senbei (Japanese Rice Crackers) packet before chomping on it forcefully to calm himself down.
"Let it go, Sengoku. Just be happy the boy is not a pirate. If he were one, we would have a much bigger headache. Think of him as a future Marine Admiral. Our future would be much more secure with him. He is a second-generation Marine after all."
A graceful and serene voice spoke from the side, where an old woman sat drinking tea from a ceramic cup. Her grey hair was tied in a neat bun, sunglasses perched on her forehead, and she wore teal coloured two pearl earrings.
She was the Chief Advisor and Major Decision Maker of the whole Marines.
"You are right, Tsuru, I just can't help but feel it's such a waste. Now we need to lock down all information about this incident. From what we know, he can't fully control his Devil Fruit powers and got himself injured instead. Just say Garp threw a punch in anger or something, and we wanted to remodel the quarters of the new Marine recruits. But don't let him find out how much destruction he caused. He doesn't seem ready for it yet."
After finishing the whole packet and drinking water, Sengoku collected himself and started issuing orders to a Den Den Mushi.
"You know as well as I do, all Devil Fruits have a soul of their own. They choose their user as much as we choose them. Luck is also part of your strength. The boy was lucky the fruit chose him. As for the future, given his not-so-stellar performance at the camp, we wanted to send him to East Blue for posting. But now, I think he should go to Zephyr-sensei classes instead. It will be a waste leaving such potential untapped." With a smile on her face, Tsuru replied calmly while focusing on the file in front of her.
It featured the interview Raiden gave when he joined the Marines, and the words 'I want to be a Hero!!' were underlined with a red marker, with the word 'Hero' circled in red.
'The future of Marines is bright indeed. Maybe I'll send my granddaughter to the camp too. She needs like-minded peers to move forward.' With that thought in mind, Tsuru nodded to herself once more while she kept smiling.
Sengoku, who was watching all this from the side, started thinking to himself, 'This old woman Tsuru has already started getting senile, smiling to herself all day long. Maybe I should suggest retirement to her? Nah, she'll probably hang me out to dry instead.'

Meanwhile, Raiden lay in his hospital bed, bored out of his mind. He was just about to start his daily bickering session with the System when—
BANG!
"Yo, I heard a wannabe Hero got caught under a falling building. I came to see how pathetic he looks now."
