Chapter 9 - New System Mission and Reward

Author Note:

Greetings to my lovely readers. I got into an accident and ended up in the hospital a few days into the new year. A great way to start a new year with a bang, huh.

Anyways, I am back now, though not fully healed. So I will be posting 3 chapters per week instead of orignal 7 from now. Thank you for your support. Without any further ado, let's move on to the story xD

-----------------------------------------------------------------

[Ding!! Detecting Host Intentions. Creating a New Mission...]

[Congratulations, Host!! You have finally begun your journey for the Main Mission.]

[Main Mission: Become The Greatest Hero Of All Time!! Plus Ultra!!!]

[Main Mission 1: I Am Going To Be A Hero!!!]

[Main Mission 1: Heroes Are Harbinger Of Justice!! And True Justice Never Fights Alone!! The Whole World Fights With Them!!!]

[Mission Objective: Create your own Hero Division and recruit at least 5 people who have the qualities to be a Hero!!]

[Bonus: Lottery Draw (Gold) awarded for mission activation!!]

Raiden was stunned, looking at the mission screen in front of him. This Main Mission came out of nowhere.

"Hey System, what is this Main Quest? You give out quests like that? What didn't I know about this before now?" Raiden questioned with a baffled look on his face.

[Of course, I give out quests. Without me, your dumb ass would be lost in this world. If all I had to do was give you One For All, what other job does an esteemed System like me have?? To argue with you every day?? I'm not that free~]

Raiden was speechless. It seemed like this bullshit system was making...sense? Not that he would ever admit it.

"And you waited until now to tell me about it? Such a useless system. Now, tell me what this Main Mission and questline stuff is? Also, what's with the lottery? You support and endorse gambling, don't you? As expected for a system without morals. What's next? Gacha Pulls? Tell me, do you work for Hoyoverse or something? Maybe EA??"

[Oi, don't you dare to slander a reputed system like me!! I don't take part in such malpractices. If you don't want the reward, I'll just take it away from you. A good-for-nothing like you doesn't deserve it anyway.]

"Who said I don't want it? I definitely want it. I earned it with my own abilities. Truck-sama chose ME for isekai. That's because of my own merit. If you are so capable, go reincarnate instead."

"Anyways, enough about that. Tell me about the Main Mission thingy. What is it? Is this like the Main Mission from a game? Does it mean there are Side Missions too?" Raiden asked.

[Something like that. You have to understand something. The System that you unlocked, your powers, as well as the Main Mission, all stem from your first heartfelt desire you had when you first came to this world. As crooked as you may be, you still have some redeeming qualities. Like you wanting to be a Hero and saving others.]

"Wow, is that praise I hear from you, system?" Raiden teased him.

[You make me speechless. Is that all you took away from what I've just said? The fault is mine, for trying to hold an intellectual conversation with a red-haired baboon.

Let me put it in a way your simple mind can comprehend. In video games, there are Main Mission with multiple small missions, such as defeating the demon king and saving the princess. And there are some Side Missions along the way, like fetching 3 eggs for the neighbourhood grandma. It's like that. Each one rewards you. The bigger the quest, the better. Main Mission gives you the best awards.]

"I think I understand. Main Mission and Side Missions. Got it. I'm even more confident now in my plan. Just watch and learn, you stupid system. By the way, what's the prize for completing the first Main Quest?" Raiden asked with a grin.

[The reward? You don't deserve to know.]

"What kind of bullshit is that?? Fine, don't tell me. Give me my reward instead. I remember you talked about it. Let me draw the lottery." Raiden said with a look of resignation.

He knew there was no point in arguing with it. If he did, he was just asking to get insulted instead.

[You want to draw the Lottery(Gold)?]

"Gold? Are there different tiers to it?"

[Of course, there is a difference. In ascending order, it's White, Purple, Black, Red and Golden. The higher the level, the better the reward you can draw from it.]

"So many different tiers, and you still dare to say you don't work in a company like Ubisoft? Bullshit. Anyways, draw a lottery for your daddy." Raiden said with a smug tone.

[Ding!! Drawing one Lottery(Gold) for my disobedient son....]

A big golden wheel appeared in front of Raiden, looking extremely gaudy with a lot of flashing lights and RGB, almost blinding him. On top of it, "LOTTERY!!!!" was written in big words.

Soon, the wheel started to spin. It was slow at first, before picking up speed and spinning faster than his eyes could see. By the time he got used to looking at it, the wheel slowed down considerably, coming to a halt.

The classic casino music started playing, the one that played every time someone called a jackpot.

[Congratulations, you have successfully drawn the reward 'Turtle Style Martial Arts (Goku Version, Degraded){Red}]

"Whoa, Goku's martial arts style? The rewards are that GOAT'ed? Can I fire Kamehameha with it?? Also, why does it say Degraded?" Raiden was excited. And he had every reason to be. For everyone who grew up in his generation, DBZ was the first anime they watched while growing up. He wanted to have a body like Goku.

Too bad he was a lazy arse and could not spend enough time in the gym. He lacked that willpower. Not in this life, though.

[Real Goku's martial arts are above Golden Tier, be grateful you even got the Red version. I think you don't even deserve it anyway. You should have gotten something like Yamcha ver or something. Now do you want to accept this reward?]

"Hey, I deserve at least Piccolo Version or something!! Don't underestimate me, you stupid system!! Anyway, I accept the award."

[Distributing Reward...]

Raiden felt an overload of information rush into his brain as he was taken into a different realm.

It felt like he was transferred into the body of young Goku when he joined Turtle Martial Arts School. Then, the world started to move at 525,600 times the speed.

He quickly saw Goku going on an adventure with Bulma, collecting the Dragon Balls and defeating the Red Ribbon Army. He felt the desperation beat Demon King Piccolo and save the world.

He felt the happiness of getting married and hanging out with Gohan, fighting Saiyans, dying and coming alive again. He felt the anger after seeing Krillin get killed, the sensation of absolute power that came from becoming a Super Saiyan, and the happiness of killing Freeza.

He remembered dying at the Cell Games to protect the Earth once more and his trust in his son Gohan.

He felt his fight with Majin Boo, and finally ending it all with that one final Spirit Bomb, where the whole world stood with him.

Gasp.

When he opened his eyes again, he was still sitting in the same spot, his body slumped over the table.

Only 25 minutes passed in real life when he woke up. He felt disoriented.

It felt like he'd become Goku, living each fight, each training session, feeling every technique carved into muscle memory through years of brutal practice. It was all blurry since it all moved at superfast speed. But those years of experience of fighting were carved into his body.

Now, all he had to do was make these life experiences his own.
