Eventhough Alma was clearly just as hurt, even falling out of bed, Davin didn't care at all.
"Come on, Davin. Maybe Alma isn't conscious. I don't want to prolong this."
Davin gently returned Sofia's hug, "No, Sofia. This can't be ignored. She's gone too far. I'm going to talk to her."
Davin tried to approach Alma, but Sofia pulled him back.
"Don't, Davin. Just leave it. I don't want you to fight with her because of me. The important thing now is that I'm okay," said Sofia calmly.
Davin stared intently at Sofia, then spoke with concern. "But, Sofia, you're hurt. We have to treat your wounds."
Sofia shook her head and smiled weakly.
"It's okay, Davin. This wound is nothing compared to the pain I feel in my heart. I just want you to stay by my side."
Davin hugged Sofia tightly, feeling guilty and angry at Alma. Sofia grinned slyly in Davin's embrace, feeling that her plan was going perfectly.
Shortly after, Bryan entered the emergency room and was shocked to see Alma lying on the floor.
"Alma, what's wrong with you? You're still sick, but you tried to get out of bed?!"
Bryan rushed over, almost running, to help Alma, who was struggling to get up to sit down. Brian completely ignored Davin's cold stare.
"Alma, let me help you," Bryan said, trying to support Alma's weak body.
Alma suddenly turned her head and felt the cold aura and intense gaze from Davin. She began to remember that Davin was a very possessive man when they were dating. Especially now that he was married, even though it was only a marriage on paper, Davin only wanted to hurt her through this marriage.
Thinking about that, Alma refused Bryan's sincere offer to help her back to bed.
Alma shook her head and moved away from Bryan.
"I can get up by myself, no need to bother," Alma whispered softly.
At first, Bryan let Alma be, but when he saw that Alma was staggering and then fell back down, Bryan didn't hesitate to help Alma. He immediately carried Alma bridal style.
"You're still weak, Alma. Let me help you."
Davin almost exploded with anger when he saw his wife being carried by another man. After all, wasn't it he himself who pushed Alma away from him and was determined to hurt her feelings, but why was Davin jealous now?
Sofia noticed Davin's jealous gaze on Bryan, which made her feel gloomy.
"Davin, my hand is still hurt... it feels sore," Sofia whined spoiledly, her face grimacing in pain.
Davin was startled and looked at Sofia. The man nodded slowly.
"Come on, honey, let's get your wound checked by a doctor first."
Davin wrapped his arms around Sofia's slim waist and led her out of the room. At the exit, Davin accidentally turned his head back and saw Alma being treated by Bryan. His blood boiled with rage again. But he tried to act normal because he was with Sofia.
While Alma was being treated by Bryan, the IV needle that had come loose was carefully reinserted into Alma's arm by Bryan.
"Alma, you have a fever again. You shouldn't have gotten out of bed."
Bryan then stared intently at Alma, who was lying with her eyes closed, wondering what she was thinking. Bryan felt concerned and asked.
"Alma, I don't mean to pry, but do you have anything to do with the man who was here earlier?"
Bryan had seen what happened earlier and heard Davin blaming Alma.
Alma slowly opened her eyes and felt her mind go blank for a moment when she heard Bryan's question.
Her mind was in turmoil as she recalled Davin's attitude towards Sofia earlier, which had devastated her. Her status as Davin's wife felt completely useless if her husband chose to help another woman over his own wife.
"Do you want to know who that man was?"
Bryan sighed deeply, turned his head away, and shook it.
"If you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to answer my question. It's better to rest and sleep so you can recover quickly. I'll move you to the hospital room I've prepared especially for you soon."
Meanwhile, in front of one of the rooms at the hospital, Davin was standing with his back against the wall. He was typing a message to Billy.
