Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Sister Vill-V, Sister Klein

After leaving the restaurant, Vya held Elysia's hand as they walked slowly. She found herself thinking about that sister named Vill-V… She couldn't quite understand it—why wasn't the light around Sister Vill-V just a single, simple color?

Even if there were multiple hues, they should have been similar shades, right? But Vill-V's light was special, and it even seemed to be splitting apart…

And those lights would separate and then merge back together…

How strange…

But she soon shook her head. No overthinking, Vya~

After all, the happiest times were right now, being with her sisters.

Of course, joyful moments always felt too brief.

Soon, Eden's car pulled up in front of them.

"Alright, Elysia, do you need me to give you two a ride back?"

She stood by the car door, smiling gently at Elysia and Vya.

"No need~♪ We can make our own way back."

"Mmm, alright then. Until next time, my dear Elysia."

"Goodbye~♪ My dear Eden, see you next time~"

Elysia waved her hand.

"Goodbye, Sister Eden~!"

Vya said with a smile.

Eden leaned down and gently patted Vya's head. "Goodbye, little Vya. How about I show you some new clothes next time?"

She was quite fond of this child—Vya was very endearing.

"Yay! Thank you, Sister Eden!" Vya's eyes instantly lit up.

Eden got into the car and drove away.

Elysia took Vya's small hand. "Alright~♪, time for us to head back too~"

"Mhm!"

Meanwhile, back in the restaurant, Vill-V was speaking with the manager. Manager Catherine seemed reluctant to let her go.

"Vill-V, are you really sure you won't stay? With your talent, you'd quickly be able to…"

"I'm truly sorry, Ms. Catherine. Thank you for your kindness all this time, but I really do have important matters to attend to."

Vill-V looked somewhat apologetic.

Catherine sighed. "I see… Well, you're always welcome back anytime you wish."

"Yes, thank you for your appreciation."

This time, Vill-V had worked here under her real name. Perhaps after using so many aliases and identities, it felt nice to occasionally be her true self.

After stepping out of the restaurant, Vill-V stood by the roadside, lost in thought.

It was true—there had been quite a few troublesome matters lately.

Ever since she'd borrowed the name of that Dr. Mobius to look into some things…

Vill-V knew she was being watched, even though that organization called MOTH hadn't come knocking yet.

Though she felt she could even take the initiative herself.

Staying here had only been a temporary measure anyway. All in all, it was time to move on.

Her ending up at this restaurant had been almost accidental. And without even realizing it, her cooking skills had reached this level.

She'd only learned a little bit—how had she become a master chef? It really was puzzling.

"Tsk tsk…"

"Where to next?"

Vill-V switched to another identity and appearance, looking at the micro-computer in her hand.

"The Back Alley…"

A slight smile touched Vill-V's lips.

On the other side, Vya and Elysia smoothly returned to MOTH headquarters.

The holiday break passed quickly.

"Did you have fun, Vya?"

"So much fun!"

"Well… Sister has to go take care of some things now. Could you go find Sister Mobius?" Elysia gently pinched Vya's little cheek.

"Okay!"

And so Vya set off. Watching her leave, Elysia smiled. She felt completely at ease.

Vya had been to the First Laboratory many times already. With her enhanced memory, she remembered the way clearly.

Besides, thanks to Elysia's enthusiastic promotion, almost all the regular personnel in the base knew she had a little sister now.

On the way to the laboratory, people came and went. Many recognized her and greeted her.

As she walked on, the crowd gradually thinned…

A familiar light appeared in Vya's vision.

A pale blue one… Sister Blanca!

Next to her was a very faint, pale green light, so faint it was almost white…

"Sister Blanca~!"

Vya called out happily, running toward them.

Blanca and the young woman beside her stopped, looking surprised at the approaching Vya.

"Vya? What are you doing here?"

Blanca asked.

"Sister told me to go find Sister Mobius."

Vya answered honestly.

"Oh, I see…" Blanca nodded.

She'd already heard that Elysia often took Vya to see Dr. Mobius…

Not surprising. Knowing Elysia's personality, she'd definitely want to show Vya off in front of Dr. Mobius.

So, going back and forth like that, they'd naturally become familiar. It made sense.

After all, Mobius did seem to like children quite a bit—like her own daughter, Griseo…

"…Where's Elysia?"

Blanca asked.

"Sister said she has things to do."

"Well, that works out. I'm heading to Dr. Mobius's place too. Let's go together."

"Okay~"

Vya agreed obediently, then looked curiously at the unfamiliar young woman beside Blanca.

"Who is this sister?"

Vya tilted her head and asked.

Hearing this, the green-haired young woman seemed momentarily taken aback.

Blanca quickly introduced her. "Oh, let me introduce you. …This is Klein. If all goes well, she'll be Dr. Mobius's new assistant."

"New assistant? Someone who helps Sister Mobius?"

Vya asked, looking at Klein.

"That's right, exactly."

Blanca turned to Klein.

"This child is Vya. She only arrived here recently. She's a very well-behaved child."

"Mm, I see…" Klein replied softly.

"Hello, Sister Klein!"

Vya stepped forward, happily extending her small hand.

"Ah… hello, Vya."

Klein reached out and shook Vya's little hand, still seeming a bit reserved.

And so, the two became acquainted.

"Alright, let's go."

Blanca then led the two toward the First Laboratory.

Blanca walked ahead, with Klein and Vya following behind. Vya occasionally stole curious glances at Klein, thinking this newly-met sister, though quiet and seeming a bit spaced-out, was probably very kind.

Blanca opened the laboratory door.

Inside, Mobius was as busy as ever. It seemed she was still a bit overwhelmed working alone—so an assistant + free labor + stand-in was quite necessary.

"Doctor, it's me, Blanca."

Blanca addressed the busy figure. She actually felt quite sorry for Mobius. After all this time working together, she knew about the gentleness within Mobius's heart, and even that somewhat girlish side of her…

So even though she'd moved to work elsewhere, she still came back to visit.

"And me, Sister Mobius! And Vya!" Vya called out happily to Mobius. In her heart now, Mobius was also a very important sister to her~

Klein remained silent in the back, unsure of what to say…
