Chapter 17 - 17 Who was that girl…?

"Who was that girl…?"

After Tina left, Mahendra ji finally calmed down a little. He looked at Shubham and asked,

"Tell me, who was that girl? Did we thank her properly?"

"Yes, sir. We have already given her a blank cheque," Yug replied.

While talking about Nidhi, clear respect could be seen in his eyes. He continued,

"Who would have thought that a teenage girl could be such an excellent doctor?

No one expected it. She was just passing by when she found out about your condition.

She went against everyone's opinion and saved your life.

If she hadn't been there, no one knows what those doctors might have done.

She is extremely capable."

In Mahendra ji's mind, a faint image of an innocent face appeared.

Even though he was unconscious at that time, he had opened his eyes for a moment.

He had seen Nidhi's face—blurred, yet gentle.

He had heard her soft voice.

Unfortunately, the girl was very young, and Shubham's engagement with Mansi had already been fixed.

Otherwise, having such a sweet daughter-in-law wouldn't be a bad thing at all.

"Did you take her contact number?" Mahendra ji asked quickly.

"I want to personally meet her and thank her."

Hearing this, Yug was shocked and looked at Shubham.

After all, Shubham had taken Nidhi's number yesterday.

"You will not trouble her," Shubham said firmly.

"I just want to thank my life saver," Mahendra ji replied.

In his heart, he was thinking—so many doctors failed to save him, yet that young girl saved him even at such a critical stage.

She was truly talented.

At such a young age, doing something like this was praiseworthy.

"If only I could fix her as my grandson's match," he thought,

"she would have been the daughter-in-law of my house."

"Tell me, do you have her number?" Mahendra ji asked again.

"You must bring her to meet me. This is my order."

Mahendra ji tried his best to force the situation.

Finally, Shubham gave in.

"Whether she comes or not depends on her. I can't force her.

But I'll talk to her."

Mahendra ji's plan finally succeeded.

"Of course," he said happily.

"If she doesn't come, it will only be because of my useless and dangerous grandson's cold attitude."

As Shubham was about to leave, Mahendra ji quickly said,

"Wait."

After thinking for a moment, he added,

"When you talk to her, talk nicely. Be polite. Don't scare her, understand?

She might become my future daughter-in-law."

Hearing this, Shubham thought to himself,

"What nonsense does he say about me?

Do I not know how to talk properly?

Do I really need lessons from someone else?"

At the same time, Yug said,

"Big Boss, please don't say anything to sir.

If he gets angry, he'll surely send me to the Africa project."

"It doesn't matter," Mahendra ji said seriously.

"But talk to her nicely. Don't be rude."

He was afraid that his grandson's attitude might scare the girl.

Meanwhile, at Singhania Mansion

Raghav ji and Kavita ji placed many different dishes in front of both girls.

"Look, the chef has made fresh tea with fries," Kavita ji said.

"Nidhi, this is for you. Be careful, it's hot."

"Mansi, you were away for a month because of school," Raghav ji said.

"Look how thin you've become. Eat properly."

Hearing this, Mansi smiled sweetly and replied,

"Mom, Dad, don't worry about me. Give more to my sister.

I've been eating all this since childhood anyway."

Kavita ji laughed. She felt that Mansi was very understanding.

She thought Mansi wasn't jealous or angry about Nidhi's sudden arrival.

Instead, she was taking care of her like a real sister.

Things didn't seem as difficult as she had imagined.

"Dad, here is your black tea," Mansi said, standing up and serving Raghav ji.

"You like it with pastry."

She served Kavita ji as well.

"Enjoy."

Raghav ji and Kavita ji didn't expect Mansi to be so mature.

They smiled and took a sip.

Watching them, Mansi smiled as if she had won a battle.

Then she glanced at Nidhi and thought,

"What difference does it make if Nidhi is their biological daughter?

No one knows my parents' food habits better than me."

But Nidhi, who had grown up among two-faced people, understood Mansi's small actions very well.

Still, her eyes were calm as she quietly enjoyed her food.

While talking sweetly to her parents, Mansi suddenly looked at Nidhi and said,

"Nidhi, sorry… I don't know what you like.

Should I serve you coffee?"

Seeing her good behavior, Raghav ji and Kavita ji admired her even more.

Nidhi didn't reply immediately. She just blinked softly.

Mansi started pouring coffee.

"You're taking good care of your sister," Raghav ji said warmly.

From the corner of her eye, Mansi noticed that Nidhi was wearing a white chiffon dress.

The fabric looked soft and delicate.

She thought, What if the coffee spills on her?

But Nidhi had already sensed her intention.

As Mansi poured coffee, Nidhi calmly said,

"Don't pour too much."

Mansi didn't expect Nidhi to understand her so quickly.

She clenched her teeth and pretended not to hear.

This time, Nidhi spoke a little louder,

"That's enough. Thank you."

Mansi smiled awkwardly.

"Nidhi, you're very careful.

I've been making tea for Mom and Dad for years and never spilled it.

Are you afraid I'll burn you?"

Nidhi looked at Mansi calmly, then smiled back.

"I noticed you already filled Mom and Dad's cups more than needed.

So I stopped you. I only wanted this much."

Nidhi's behavior was gentle and respectful.

"You don't need to be so formal at home," Kavita ji said kindly.

She hadn't expected Nidhi to be so well-mannered.

Mansi's behavior felt a little strange, but Kavita ji assumed her intentions were good and ignored it.

Raghav ji laughed to lighten the mood.

"Nidhi, Mansi… your results will be out soon.

Have you both decided which university you want to go to?"

He placed his tea cup down and looked at both girls lovingly.

Mansi answered quickly,

"I'll study at Mumbai University."

"But I remember you didn't want to stay here," Raghav ji said in surprise.

Hearing this, Nidhi also looked at Mansi.

She already understood what was going on in Mansi's mind.

Mansi smiled confidently.

"Many classmates said the entrance is difficult, but when I saw the papers, they didn't seem that hard.

I'm confident I'll get admission easily."

She held Kavita ji's hand and said innocently,

"I want to stay here with you all."

Raghav ji smiled.

"Since childhood, we've never worried about your studies, dear."
