Chapter 5: The Glass Fortress 🏢🔥
Jisong stared at the scholarship letter in his hand, his fingers trembling—not out of joy, but out of confusion and a strange sense of being controlled. 📜💢
"I didn't ask for this," he muttered. He knew he needed the money, but he didn't want to be a charity case for a man he barely knew.
With a heart full of nervous courage, Jisong took a bus to the JS Group Headquarters. Standing in front of the massive glass skyscraper, he felt like an ant. 🐜🏙️
Inside the Lion's Den 🦁💼
The lobby was filled with people in expensive suits. Jisong, in his simple hoodie and jeans, looked completely out of place. 👟
Receptionist:"Do you have an appointment, sir?"
Jisong (firmly):"No. But I need to speak with Song Yeonjun. Tell him it's Park Jisong."
The receptionist's eyes widened. Moments later, Jisong was being led into a private elevator. ⬆️✨
The doors opened to the top floor. The office was silent, smelling of expensive sandalwood and cold air conditioning. Yeonjun was sitting behind his desk, looking like a king on his throne. 👑
Yeonjun (without looking up):"You're late. I expected you an hour ago."
Jisong (slamming the letter on the desk):"Why did you do this? I never applied for any scholarship! I don't want your money!" 💥
Yeonjun finally looked up. His gaze was heavy, making the air in the room feel thick. He stood up slowly, walking around the desk until he was standing right in front of Jisong. He was so tall that Jisong had to tilt his head back. 📏👀
Yeonjun:"You're struggling to pay your rent, you skip lunch to save money, and your shoes are worn out. Is your 'pride' more important than your future?"
Jisong:"How do you know all that?! Stop following me! Stop interfering in my life!" 😠
Jisong turned to leave, but Yeonjun's hand shot out, grabbing Jisong's wrist and pulling him back. The touch was firm but surprisingly warm. 🤝🔥 Jisong's heart began to race—not from anger this time, but from a strange electricity.
Yeonjun (whispering near his ear):"I'm not interfering, Jisong. I'm reclaiming what belongs to me." 🤫✨
Jisong's breath hitched. "What... what are you talking about?"
Yeonjun let go of his wrist and stepped back, a dark, mysterious smirk playing on his lips. 😌
Yeonjun:"Go back to class. The money stays. If you want to pay me back... work for me."
The Twist 🌪️
Jisong walked out of the building with his head spinning. Work for him? As what?
Just as he reached the street, his phone buzzed. It was a text from an unknown number:
"Don't get too close to him, Jisong. He isn't the savior you think he is." 📩⚠️
