Chapter 22 - The Scroll

"That damn Tamer!"

Teach's heart sank further. Moreover, his Devil Fruit ability development was still shallow, and completely insufficient to attack such heights. So, he gave up trying and only focused on escaping.

However, before long, his heart felt cold.

From behind, the dull sound of a ship's whistle was heard.

A large ship approached at higher speed.

It was the Moby Dick!

Teach turned, and saw on the ship's bow, a towering figure standing with a naginata as tall as himself, staring at him coldly.

Shirohige—Edward Newgate!

The legendary figure of this sea had chased him!

"Teach, stop your boat immediately, I can give you a chance to explain!"

Shirohige's voice sounded, entering Teach's ears clearly.

Teach ignored it completely, and only continued fleeing.

Jozu standing on the ship's bow snorted coldly: "Shameless creature, still wanting to run in this situation!"

They all knew very well that people who ate Devil Fruits had been cursed by the sea. Besides boarding a ship, there was only the flying method, and Teach clearly didn't have this ability.

Using pure Moon Walk could only sustain oneself in the air temporarily, and its speed wasn't as fast as sailing.

"Namur!"

Shirohige slightly tilted his head to the side.

A fishman very similar to a shark came out, grinning with sharp and terrifying teeth, and laughed: "Pops, leave it to me. At sea, he won't be able to escape!"

This person was the Eighth Division Commander of the Shirohige Pirates, Namur, from the fishman race.

Namur jumped into the sea, fish fins appeared on the sea surface, quickly making white water waves and rapidly approaching Teach.

"Namur!"

Teach also saw the fish fin coming toward him. His expression became slightly bad.

He suddenly regretted eating the Devil Fruit so quickly, causing him to now be very passive, and trapped in the vast ocean, completely unable to escape.

"Teach, surrender yourself, you have no chance!"

Namur showed his figure not far away, emerging from the water, and advised: "Go and explain to Pops. What misunderstanding can't be resolved? Pops loves us very much!"

Previously, the situation was urgent. Shirohige and Thatch didn't have time to explain the details of the incident.

And Teach's impression in the crew was a good person, Namur also had a good impression of him.

Teach sneered: "Namur, are you teaching me what to do?"

Namur frowned: "I'm truly doing this for your own good. Don't be ungrateful. If I capture you back, the situation will be different!"

Teach laughed uproariously: "For my own good? I don't need it!"

Namur was very angry: "Then, don't blame me!"

After saying that, he immediately dove into the water, and his figure disappeared.

The next moment, the small boat beneath Teach trembled violently. The boat's bottom was directly lifted by great force, thrown high into the air, and shattered into pieces of planks before falling into the water.

Namur was in the air, sneering, and launched a punch toward Teach who was also thrown.

"Fish-Man Karate—Gekishin (Tremor)!"

The seawater below seemed alive, surrounding and gathering at his side. As the punch was launched, that seawater struck Teach hard.

Teach was in the air, but neither surprised nor angry. He suddenly stomped his foot hard, and his figure shot up one step.

Moon Walk!

Dodging this attack, Teach's speed suddenly increased. Thick black mist spread around his body, and grew larger, enveloping the area.

"What is this!"

Namur instinctively felt something was wrong. He turned, wanting to leave this area and return to the ocean, his domain.

But it was too late. The darkness spread faster than his descent speed. Moments later, that darkness completely enveloped him.

"Damn it!"

The commanders on the Moby Dick were shocked. They all rushed out toward Namur's direction.

But most of them didn't have means to fly in the air. Their speed was too slow. They might be late when arriving at the battlefield.

"I'll help you!"

Right at this moment, Kaiser, who stood in the corner of the ship without speaking, suddenly reached into his pocket and pulled out a scroll. He directly tore it, made hand seals and pressed it on top, then threw it toward the commanders.

"Earth Release: Light and Heavy Rock Technique (Doton: Keijūgan no Jutsu)!"

Yellow light visible to the naked eye enveloped the commanders.

All commanders were shocked. They clearly felt their bodies become lighter, and they actually counteracted earth's gravity, floating in the air from their own strength.

"What ability is this?!"

Everyone couldn't help but turn toward Kaiser.

Kaiser urged: "Don't worry about that first. If you don't go quickly, that shark will be finished!"

The commanders just realized, and hurriedly used their respective methods to explode the air and propel themselves, shooting toward Teach.

Shirohige glanced at Kaiser, smiled but not smiled: "You have many methods..."

Kaiser smiled faintly: "This is a gift given by a ninja when I passed through a ninja village. Inside is sealed reinforced ninjutsu. It's not my ability."

"Oh."

Shirohige uncommitted, and refocused on the battlefield.

Thick black mist floated in the air. No one could see what was happening inside.

The commanders arrived near the thick mist and stopped.

"Let me!"

Vista shouted. Both swords in his hands began rotating. A storm began forming around him.

"Hana Chigiri (Flower Slash)!"

A series of sharp slashes like a storm intersected and split the thick mist, breaking the darkness.

But before long, that thick mist merged back together.

"It didn't work!"

Vista frowned, "This is Logia-type power!"

The faces of everyone present changed.

They were all very clear about what Logia-type Devil Fruits represented. It was the manifestation of the strangest and most difficult to deal with power among all Devil Fruits.

"Everyone, Busoshoku Haki!"

Jozu snorted coldly. He didn't believe that Teach, who had just eaten a Devil Fruit, could withstand attacks from so many commanders.

All commanders immediately enveloped their entire bodies with Busoshoku Haki, covering their whole bodies without leaving the slightest gap.

To face Logia-types, Busoshoku Haki was the best way.

Right at this moment...

*SLAP!*

*BOOM!*

One figure fell from the thick mist, directly falling into the water.

It was Namur, who had been swallowed before.

At this moment, his entire body suffered extensive corrosion, revealing his terrifying white bones, blood flowing profusely. He was already unconscious, and seemed nearly dead.

"Namur!"

The commanders' faces looked bad. Vista had already shot down and lifted Namur up.

"Teach, you must die!"

They didn't know what Teach did before, but now, the commanders had been provoked. Killing aura soared like a storm.
