Chapter 24 - Chapter 23: The gammanian Finally Appears

Dr. Connors' regeneration laboratory is located on the twenty-first floor of the Osborn Biological Industry Building.

The entire lab was filled with a dazzling array of instruments.

Some instruments, just by their appearance, looked incredibly valuable.

However, what attracted Hawk's attention the most was the stone in a transparent box, visible through the glass in front of him.

Hawk didn't know what kind of stone it was.

But...

His intuition told him that this was what he was looking for.

Hawk's mind stirred, and he looked at Gwen beside him.

"What is that?"

"What?"

Gwen was stunned for a moment, her gaze returning from Max Dillon, who was currently repairing something, then she followed the direction of Hawk's finger, looked at it, and then looked at Hawk.

"Oh, that? Gamma rays."

"?"

Gamma...

And rays?

A question mark once again appeared above Hawk's head, and the corner of his mouth twitched: "Although my physics grades aren't as good as yours, they're not bad either. When did gamma rays become stones?"

Gwen laughed.

However...

She thought for a moment, first looking around, seemingly confirming that the other researchers' attention wasn't on them, then she lowered her voice and said to Hawk: "Do you remember the Hulk's rampage in New York City in September 2009?"

Hawk was slightly stunned, then nodded: "Of course I remember."

How could he not remember?

That day could be said to be the most memorable day since his transmigration.

Not only because his cheat was activated that day.

There was also another reason.

In short, Hawk remembered that day perfectly.

Gwen shrugged.

"Then you should know about Abomination. He mutated into that ugly monster by using the Hulk's blood."

"Hmm."

Hawk nodded again, then seemed to think of something and looked at Gwen.

"You mean, this stone is... Abomination?"

"Of course not. These stones were transported from Quantico Military Base."

Gwen chuckled and said: "The Hulk... Dr. Bruce Banner mutated because of the Gamma Lab explosion, but during the explosion, some peculiar changes seemed to have occurred. These stones were dug out from the lab where the explosion happened."

Hawk was bewildered.

"Then why did you just mention Abomination..."

"Oh."

Gwen suddenly understood and shrugged: "I thought you didn't know the Hulk was Bruce Banner, after all, you don't have a computer or a phone..."

Gwen paused there, then thought of something and looked at Hawk: "The phone I gave you last time, you haven't bought a SIM card for it yet, have you?"

Hawk took out the phone, which looked like an iPhone 4, from his pocket: "I bought one."

Gwen gave him this phone when she brought him to Osborn to start his job twenty days ago.

He didn't want it at first, but Gwen gave him an irresistible reason.

As everyone knows.

Workers need to clock in.

Osborn was no exception.

Moreover, Gwen didn't give him a chance to refuse, stuffing the phone into his hand and turning to leave.

After Hawk pulled out his phone and shook it, he brought the conversation back, looking at the stone in the glass lab that gave him a strange feeling.

"How did the stone from Quantico end up here?"

"Because Dr. Connors' experiment also has Military support."

Gwen explained.

To be precise, most of the experimental projects invested by Osborn had Military support, and some experiments were simply joint ventures with the Military.

After all, Osborn Industries has always had a very close relationship with the Military.

In the beginning, Osborn Industries was just a food factory that made herring canned goods, but when the war came, Norman Osborn, who was still very young at the time, seized the opportunity and decisively sold the herring canned goods production line to replace it with a weapon and ammunition production line.

Today, although Osborn Biological Industry no longer sells weapons, it has maintained a good cooperative relationship with the Military.

For example, Dr. Connors.

Dr. Connors' experimental project was a joint venture between Osborn and the Military, it just so happened that the lab was located here at Osborn Biological Industry.

After all, Dr. Connors used to be a Military doctor.

After listening to Gwen's explanation, Hawk nodded in understanding.

At this moment, in the lab behind the glass, a researcher was fixing a bottle of serum, whose contents were unknown, and then manipulating a robotic arm to pick up the so-called gamma stone.

"What are they doing?"

"Regenerative serum testing."

"Lizard serum?"

Dr. Connors' attempt to study lizards and find the secret of lizard limb regeneration was not a secret.

After all, Dr. Connors' papers were there for all to see.

But most people were not optimistic about it.

There were many reasons.

Hawk didn't look into it, after all, whether before or after awakening his Little Universe, he had no intention of going down the path of scientific research.

So Gwen was not surprised that Hawk knew this, and nodded: "Dr. Connors believes that combining lizard serum with gamma rays might be what he has been looking for."

Hawk nodded, then looked at the stone held by the robotic arm, and with a thought, looked at Gwen: "Can I go in and take a look?"

He wanted to confirm it.

Gwen heard him and remembered Hawk looking at papers in the library.

"You're not really interested in gamma rays that can turn people into monsters, are you?"

"No, I'm interested in the gamma rays inside this stone."

Hawk shook his head, saying that from a scientific perspective, gamma rays cannot be preserved, as they disappear once emitted.

What?

This is the Marvel Universe, not science.

Alright, then it's fine.

Gwen thought for a moment, confirming that simply taking Hawk for a closer look would not reveal Dr. Connors' experimental progress, then she nodded.

Hawk was delighted, but as he followed Gwen inside, he said to Max Dillon, who was still repairing: "Max, I'm going in to see that amazing stone."

He didn't call him Mr. Dillon, because Max didn't allow it. It seemed that because he knew Max's name, Max considered him a friend.

Hmm.

If Max's skin color was a little whiter, it would be good.

Hawk thought to himself.

Max, who was engrossed in repairs, turned around and gave a simple, honest smile: "Okay, I'll be done fixing it soon too."

Hawk said thanks, then followed Gwen, who was swiping her card, into the lab.

Just then.

As Hawk followed Gwen into the lab, when his gaze once again locked onto the gamma stone held by the robotic arm.

Instantly.

A message was transmitted from his Little Universe.

It's it.

It's it.

It's it.

gammanian!
