"Two useless wastes!"
Seeing his two subordinates easily dealt with by Hidan, Miura Kikuchi couldn't help but curse under his breath. His original plan to use them to pin Hidan down had failed. Now, he was forced to face these two freaks, Hidan and Simu, directly.
However, even so, the battle-hardened Miura Kikuchi remained confident in taking down these two greenhorns. To him, an Immortal Body was not invincible; as long as he seized the right opportunity, he simply had to bind the boy.
Hidan grinned, swinging his pitch-black spear wildly. he looked like a witch performing a sacrificial dance.
"I'm going to sacrifice you, you false believer, to Lord Jashin!"
With that, Hidan suddenly launched himself forward, hurtling toward Miura Kikuchi like a cannonball. This arrogant attitude deeply provoked Miura Kikuchi.
"You're just a brat who's barely seen the world. You really think you're something special just because you have Lord Jashin's protection?"
His hands blurred in front of his chest, fingers weaving together to form one specific hand sign after another.
Not far away, Simu watched Miura Kikuchi's movements intently. This had to be the preparation phase before releasing a ninjutsu—the so-called "weaving signs." This was Simu's first time seeing an opponent use ninjutsu in actual combat, so he observed with exceptional detail.
Hidan charged in, and Miura Kikuchi seemed to have finished guiding the energy within his body through these specific hand signs. A large amount of chakra was mobilized, eventually condensing in his mouth.
"Water Style: Water Wave Jutsu!"
Miura Kikuchi took a deep breath, his belly bulging slightly. As he opened his mouth, the chakra within instantly transformed into a terrifying, surging torrent of water!
It was hard to imagine how a single person's mouth could eject so much fluid. But this was the charm of ninjutsu. By using chakra as a medium to affect reality, Simu saw it as the conversion of energy into physical matter. Ninjutsu was the converter for this process.
Regardless of the theory, the rushing water instantly crushed the shops on both sides of the street. Even Hidan, caught in mid-sprint, was swept away by the deluge.
"I'll kill... glub glub..."
Hidan struggled within the turbulent flow. Seeing the torrent rushing toward him, Simu slowly adjusted his glasses. A massive centipede tail sprouted from his back, acting like a shield to block the oncoming water.
As the chakra was exhausted, the flood finally subsided. Protected by his Bikaku · Centipede, Simu stood his ground. His only loss was a slightly dampened hem of his clothes. Hidan, however, was not so lucky. Swept away by the flood, he was slammed directly into a pile of rubble. The shops along the street were entirely destroyed, leaving countless casualties and cries of pain in the aftermath.
Of course, these tragedies meant nothing to Miura Kikuchi. After all, they were the Jashin Religion! As long as their goals were met, the lives of dozens, hundreds, or even thousands were of no consequence.
"Cough, cough! Bastard! How dare you get my clothes wet!"
Hidan rose angrily from the ruins. His meticulously styled silver slicked-back hair was now wet and matted against his scalp, which annoyed him greatly.
"An Immortal Body... truly an enviable ability."
Miura Kikuchi could not hide the look of jealousy on his face. Like the Archbishop, he couldn't understand why Lord Jashin would choose a fool like Hidan!
"Heh, a fake believer like you could never understand the glory of Lord Jashin!"
Hidan lunged from the ruins. The injuries caused by the terrifying water pressure—enough to cause multiple fractures in a normal person—had already vanished without a trace. Miura Kikuchi grew serious. With a flick of his arm, he fired four kunai. Each kunai had a paper talisman tied to the ring at the end, inscribed with dense incantations in special ink.
Hidan saw the kunai but continued his charge without dodging. To him, such attacks were useless. The moment the kunai struck Hidan's body, the Paper Bombs wrapped around them suddenly ignited, and then...
"Boom!"
Scorching flames erupted from the four talismans simultaneously. The terrifying explosion blasted a large crater into the street, and thick black smoke enveloped the battlefield.
"So, those are Paper Bombs?"
Simu's expression remained unchanged. He silently observed the flow of the battle and the various methods a ninja might use in combat.
In the center of the crater, Hidan was scorched black, the surface of his body completely carbonized. As he moved, the charcoal that used to be his skin flaked off and fell to the ground. This burning pain was something he had never experienced before.
"Jie jie jie..."
"This feeling... it's actually quite comfortable!"
Hidan let out a violent burst of laughter.
"This is how it should be! Only an opponent like this is worthy of my judgment, worthy of being sacrificed to the great Lord Jashin!"
His manic laughter stopped abruptly. He leapt from the center of the crater, black spear in hand, and descended upon Miura Kikuchi from above. Enveloped by the black smoke, this attack was incredibly sudden. Even Miura Kikuchi failed to react in time and was pierced through the chest by the pitch-black spear.
"It's over."
Hidan pulled his lips back in a cruel smile. However, Miura Kikuchi, despite being impaled, suddenly turned his head and gave Hidan a hollow, eerie grin.
In the next second, his entire body dissolved into endless water and exploded! Hidan's pupils shrank as he tried to retreat, but it was clearly too late at his current speed.
The exploding water rapidly formed a water sphere five meters in diameter, trapping Hidan entirely within!
"Glub glub glub!"
Hidan flailed his arms and legs inside, but he could only blow bubbles. No one could hear what he was saying. Simu didn't need to hear him to know what he was saying anyway—it was undoubtedly "I'll kill you" or something similar. He had grown tired of hearing it over the last three months.
Rather than what Hidan was saying, Simu was more interested in where Miura Kikuchi was. Sure enough, once Hidan was successfully trapped, Miura Kikuchi emerged from a puddle on the ground. He looked triumphantly at the raging Hidan and said with disdain, "So what if you have an Immortal Body? Trapped like this, you're nothing more than a stray dog capable only of useless rage."
Simu stroked his chin and nodded in agreement. "As expected of Senior Miura. You make an excellent point."
This made Hidan even more furious. However, his rage stopped in the next instant because Miura Kikuchi extended a palm and placed it gently on the surface of the water sphere.
"Water Style: Beheading in Water Jutsu!"
A surge of current suddenly manifested within the water, slicing the entire sphere in half! The breaking point was exactly at Hidan's neck.
In other words, Hidan had been beheaded... yet again.
Miura Kikuchi stepped on Hidan's head while the rest of the body remained bound by the water. He said coldly, "As long as your head is separated from your body, even an Immortal Body won't allow you to resist, will it?"
