Chapter 21 - You Stab Me, I Stab You, It’s Only Fair

The moon hung high in the sky, casting a cold, clear light over the old dirt road. The wind blowing against them carried the distinct, salty scent of the sea.

"I say, damn it, Simu, you're not planning to settle this whole thing for them just because you ate one of their roasted suckling pigs, are you?"

Hidan followed behind Simu, asking suspiciously.

Hearing this, Simu smiled slightly and asked back, "Do I look like that kind of person to you?"

Hidan curled his lip. "True. You don't exactly look like a good person either."

Despite this, he was still somewhat confused.

"If you aren't planning to help, why did you intentionally leave that Jashin necklace at the old man's house?"

Simu raised an eyebrow, looking at Hidan with genuine surprise. "I didn't expect that with your IQ, you'd actually realize I left the necklace on purpose."

"Bastard Simu, my observational skills are top-tier!"

Hidan spoke with great confidence before pressing for an answer. "So why exactly did you do it?"

With his small brain, he truly couldn't fathom Simu's reasoning.

Simu smoothed his hair, which had been ruffled by the sea breeze, and pushed up his glasses. He spoke with interest, "I'm just curious if that child will have the courage to try his luck at the Sakamoto Company after getting the necklace."

"Curious?"

Hidan tilted his head, seemingly finding it difficult to understand Simu's way of thinking. He then placed his hands behind his head and said with utter disappointment, "That kind of thinking is so boring. It would be better to just kill a few people at random to sacrifice to Lord Jashin."

Simu said nothing. Whether that little fellow Mori Shiraishi came or not was merely a trivial matter to him.

The distance from the Shiraishi house to the seaside pier was not far. Although it was very dark, Simu was guided by hundreds of ravens and tens of thousands of black beetles. He soon led Hidan to their destination.

The Sakamoto Company.

It was a luxurious and massive cruise ship. In stark contrast to this vessel were the old fishing boats tied to the pier with iron chains.

This was undoubtedly the work of the Sakamoto Company. To avoid interfering with the operation of the floating casino, they had not only kidnapped the dissenting fishermen but had even impounded their boats.

Facing such a situation, the villagers had no recourse. After all, the Shinobi World did not have the robust laws of Simu's previous life, let alone law enforcement agencies to protect ordinary residents.

If they wanted to drive away the Sakamoto Company, they had only two choices.

First, they could rely on their own strength to resist the company to the end. However, this option seemed to have collapsed once Mori Shiraishi's father was captured.

Second, they could pool their money together and send a representative to a nearby ninja village to post a bounty mission. Unfortunately, this small fishing village simply could not produce that much money.

Therefore, they could only watch helplessly as the Sakamoto Company cut off their livelihood.

Simu did not have much of a reaction to this. In the Shinobi World, this was a normal occurrence that happened countless times every day.

In the past, he might have felt a sense of righteous indignation. But things were different now. He was no longer human!

"Who are you?"

On the pier, several thugs from the Sakamoto Company discovered the two of them.

Hidan rubbed his neck and said impatiently, "This great one's name is Hidan. Hurry up and call that Sakamoto guy out to see me."

Simu, standing to the side, wore an "as expected" expression. This guy managed to draw aggro no matter where he went.

Sure enough, hearing Hidan's arrogant reply, the four thugs' expressions immediately darkened.

"You think you can just see our boss whenever you want?"

With that, they drew their weapons.

"What's the plan?"

Hidan glanced at Simu. Simu shrugged. "Whatever you want."

The next second, Hidan charged out. Almost instantly, he appeared before them.

And then...

He was run through the abdomen by a sword.

"Ugh..."

The thug stared at Hidan, whom he had just stabbed, looking somewhat dazed. This guy was so fast; he had only meant to swing his blade to force him back, and the guy had just run right into it?

However, something even more bizarre occurred. The man who had been impaled through the stomach raised his head and flashed a grisly smile.

"Are you ready to accept Lord Jashin's judgment?"

Hidan grinned, reaching out to grip the blade that was piercing his gut.

"Are you kidding me!"

Faced with such a macabre scene, the thug instinctively tried to pull his sword back and retreat. Yet, no matter how much strength he used, the blade remained firmly clamped in Hidan's hand. With no other choice, he abandoned the long sword and scrambled backward.

As he retreated, Hidan pulled the sword out and, with a backhand thrust, impaled the enemy before him! Pungent blood erupted like a fountain.

The other three thugs were stunned.

Is this how you fight?!

But Hidan clearly wasn't satisfied yet. With a sudden burst, he grabbed another thug by the neck and hoisted him up.

"With this level of strength, there's no value in a sacrifice at all."

He spoke with a sense of boredom before snapping the man's neck.

The remaining two felt a chill down their spines, but they made their choice. Two long swords attacked simultaneously from the left and right, hacking heavily into Hidan's waist!

"Pfft!"

A spray of blood erupted from the wounds. Hidan let go, allowing the corpse in his hand to thud onto the ground as he complained peevishly:

"Too weak! Way too weak!"

His eyes actually glinted with a hint of crimson in the night. A pitch-black spear slid from beneath his trench coat. In an instant, he ran the enemies through, settling them easily.

This intense combat naturally drew the attention of the other thugs on the cruise ship. Even their target, one of the Jashin Religion's partners, Mr. Sakamoto himself, appeared on the scene.

Mr. Sakamoto emerged surrounded by a large group of bodyguards. He looked at the blood-soaked ground, frowned slightly, and asked, "The two of you are from the Jashin Religion, I assume?"

Only the lunatics of the Jashin Religion would do something like this.

Simu nodded. "You must be Mr. Sakamoto. We have come under the orders of the Leader to complete the mission you requested."

Sakamoto looked at the four thugs who had been crushed like chickens on the ground and let out a sharp breath.

"Are you sure you're here to complete the mission?"

Complete my requested mission by taking out my men first?

Facing Mr. Sakamoto's question, Simu answered quite calmly, "This must be a misunderstanding."

"Your subordinates didn't seem to give us a chance to introduce ourselves before they launched an attack."

"They stabbed my partner once, and my partner simply stabbed back. It's only fair."
