Chapter 16 - Blooming Blood Flowers

"Give these two a proper lesson," Miura Kikuchi said, his face as cold as frost.

However, the two Jashin Religion followers beside him hesitated.

"Well... Lord Miura, Hidan and Simu are the Divine Sons of our Jashin Religion, after all. Isn't doing this a bit inappropriate?"

Miura Kikuchi shot them a glacial look, his tone as biting as snowmelt. "It seems you intend to defy my orders?"

At these words, the two followers immediately stiffened. Although Simu and Hidan were terrifying, Miura Kikuchi had operated within the Jashin Religion for many years and was equally fearsome. Offending Hidan resulted in a mere death, but if they offended Miura Kikuchi, he could make them wish they were dead. At least, that was how it appeared to them.

Faced with such a threat, the two cultists could only grit their teeth and look toward Hidan and Simu. "Forgive us, Divine Sons," they said.

Hidan licked his increasingly crimson lips, a hint of excitement coloring his voice. He didn't care whether these guys were being forced or not. If he wasn't worried about Simu's objection, he would have killed off the entire Jashin Religion long ago. In Hidan's eyes, this group didn't truly believe in Lord Jashin, or their faith simply wasn't devout enough! Otherwise, why hadn't Lord Jashin granted them a blessing?

As the spokesman for Lord Jashin in the Shinobi World, Hidan felt it was his responsibility and duty to eliminate all these unfaithful wretches!

"Attack together!" the two followers shouted to encourage each other. They drew their long blades and charged.

"Here they come, here they come!" Hidan grew more excited as they closed in. He pulled a black spear from his trench coat to meet them.

"Careful, he has an Immortal Body. Don't trade wounds with him; we must find a way to bind him!" the two followers shouted, coordinating their strategy.

This was the disadvantage of leaked intelligence. An ordinary person might have rushed in to attack Hidan directly. However, the members of the Jashin Religion knew that general attacks were useless against him. The only way to shut him down was to restrain him. Or, like Simu, to cut Hidan's head off!

With this in mind, they decisively chose to wear him down from a distance. Five or six shuriken flew out from beneath their black trench coats, attempting to distract him. Hidan did not hesitate. His legs exploded with terrifying power, propelling his body toward the enemies at high speed. As for the incoming attacks, they meant nothing to a man with an Immortal Body!

Sure enough, the shuriken tore through Hidan's trench coat, leaving deep gashes in his flesh. Yet, his speed didn't falter in the slightest! If anything, the pain made Hidan more excited and powerful.

"This kind of attack is nothing to me!" he roared, suddenly leaping high into the air.

Over the past three months under Simu's tutelage, Hidan had undergone a complete transformation. He unleashed unimaginable speed, descending like a dark shadow. His sharp black spear pointed straight at their hearts!

The two followers jumped aside, their hearts racing.

"So fast!"

"When did this guy improve to this level?"

At the Jashin Religion headquarters, every time they saw Hidan, he was being beheaded by a single strike from Simu. This gave them the impression that Hidan only survived by sheer luck thanks to his Immortal Body. They hadn't expected his Taijutsu to be this formidable.

Miura Kikuchi was equally surprised.

Although he spent most of his time away, he was still aware of the situation at headquarters and the abilities of the two Divine Sons. In his view, Hidan was just a lawless brat relying on an Immortal Body. He figured the two followers could keep Hidan occupied while his only true opponent was the restrained Simu.

Unexpectedly, Hidan's strength exceeded his estimates. If Simu and Hidan attacked together, things might truly become difficult to handle. Thinking of this, Miura Kikuchi turned his gaze toward Simu.

Simu seemed to feel his gaze. He looked up, pushed his glasses, and offered a slight smile.

Damn him... is he still acting all calm and indifferent at a time like this?

Miura Kikuchi felt extremely annoyed, but the battlefield was completely one-sided. Hidan, failing his first strike, lunged at the two again. His fighting style was simple: suicidal! He completely discarded defense, leaving all his vitals open for the enemy to attack. All he cared about was swinging his spear to wound his foes.

"We stand no chance fighting like this!" Under Hidan's mad-dog style, the two followers struggled just to stay upright.

Finally, while they were speaking, Hidan lunged in front of them. "Jie jie jie! Die!"

A heavy spear thrust fell with immense force, grinding against a parrying blade and sending out brilliant sparks. Hidan threw his whole weight into it. Though the spear was deflected, the sheer power caused the follower to stumble. Hidan seized the chance and swung again, aiming for the heart.

The other follower could only desperately swing his blade, hacking heavily into Hidan's back. Blood sprayed instantly!

Such a fatal wound for a normal person was no threat to Hidan. With a crazed expression, he raised both hands and delivered a powerful thrust that ended the first follower's life. Amidst the spray of blood, he turned to the other follower and flashed a demonic grin.

This terrifying sight caused the second follower to stumble back two steps. In that instant, Hidan was already upon him, reaching out to lock him in a bear hug.

"Damn it!" By the time the follower reacted, Hidan held him firmly.

His face turned deathly pale as Hidan whispered in his ear, "Enjoy death with me!"

"You bastard, what are you doing? Let go of me!" His eyes were filled with terror as he struggled frantically, but it was useless.

Hidan, holding him tight, let out a mad and raspy laugh. He raised the spear with both hands and drove it violently through his own back! The sharp, powerful spear pierced through both bodies, pinning Hidan and the follower together!

Two blood flowers bloomed simultaneously. The follower's head slumped as he died instantly. Hidan threw his head back and let out a roar of pure satisfaction.

This scene made the townsfolk watching from the shadows feel their scalps tingle with cold terror!

After a brief release, Hidan pulled the spear out of the two bodies. "These guys aren't even worthy of being sacrificed to Lord Jashin," he said with some disdain.

His pale face was flecked with crimson blood, looking like a blood-red lotus blooming in the snow—an eerie, seductive beauty. Hidan raised his spear and pointed it at Miura Kikuchi. "Next, it's your turn."
