Hidan had no idea that he had already been misunderstood by the great Lord Jashin. After soaking in his "hot bath," he crawled out of the Blood Pool.
"Ah, that felt good!"
He stretched lazily and then looked at Simu, speaking in an extremely provocative tone, "Seems like you're useful for something after all, you useless Simu."
Simu shot him a glance. A dark red blood shadow instantly streaked across the air, cleanly beheading Hidan.
"Mmph~~"
Hidan let out a muffled groan. For a moment, Simu truly didn't know if his beheading method was a punishment or a reward for this guy! These masochists were truly unbearable. Especially a masochist with an Immortal Body!
Under the power of the Kagune, Hidan's head rolled several times on the ground before coming to a stop. Unlike previous times when he could only rage helplessly after losing his head, Hidan now shot out massive amounts of spider silk from his neck. The threads connected his head and body, and with the powerful life force of his Immortal Body, he healed rapidly.
In no time, there wasn't even a mark left!
"Jie jie jie jie jie jie!"
A frantic smile broke across Hidan's face.
"Useless Simu, I won't be afraid of you beheading me anymore! Even if you hack me into pieces, I can restore myself!"
"Sooner or later, I will definitely kill you and sacrifice you to Lord Jashin!"
He pulled out his black spear and pointed it at Simu.
"No, I don't need to wait. Right now, I can already defeat you!"
With that, he prepared to swing his spear and charge at Simu. Simu sighed, feeling somewhat puzzled. Could it be that Kagune actually affects a person's brain? Wait, Hidan didn't have a brain to begin with. Maybe the Kagune took over the functions of the brain after entering his body?
Facing Hidan's assault, Simu didn't even move. Two bright red limbs sprouted from his body, dancing at a terrifying speed to create a dense, blood-colored storm. Before Hidan could even get halfway, he was engulfed by the storm and hacked into pieces!
Literally hacked into eight pieces. Head, two arms, two legs, and his torso cut into three sections.
"Hmph, bastard Simu, your attacks can't do anything to me now!"
Hidan was very confident. He urged the power of the Kagune inside his body, preparing to reconnect and restore himself. However, no matter how hard he tried, the Parasitic Spider remained completely unresponsive.
"Don't waste your energy."
Simu crouched in front of Hidan, looking down at him. "These Kagune were made by my own hands. I can control their movements whenever I want."
Hearing this, Hidan's face instantly collapsed. He roared in dissatisfaction, "I knew it! You definitely had bad intentions!"
Simu shrugged and said casually, "You can't beat me either way. Having an extra Kagune at least gives you a trump card when dealing with others."
While that made sense, our dignified Lord Hidan was not someone with so little backbone. He immediately declared, "Bastard Simu, you better pull your stinky thing out! I'm telling you! Even if I, Hidan, am beaten to death here today, I will never use your Kagune for even a single second!"
"Yeah, yeah, sure, sure."
Simu didn't argue. Once Hidan actually got hacked to pieces by someone else, he would learn the meaning of "true satisfaction."
Having restricted Hidan's movements, Simu slowly took out a box. Numerous [Kakuhou] surfaced from the Blood Pool, and Simu placed them one by one into the box.
Finally being able to leave the headquarters for a mission, Simu had no intention of passing up this chance to promote Lord Jashin. After all, it had been three months since he arrived in this world, and "Lord Jashin's Growth-type Game" still hadn't leveled up! How could he not take this mission as an opportunity to farm some Reputation for the Jashin Religion?
"Bastard Simu, you just wait! I'll definitely get my revenge!"
Beside him, Hidan rubbed his neck. Despite having an Immortal Body, being beheaded too many times still left some strange sensations.
"Since you're ready, let's go."
Simu picked up the box and walked out of the temple. Hidan followed closely behind, muttering to himself. Neither had much to pack. Simu at least needed a change of clothes, but Hidan brought nothing at all. To him, the mission site was only a day's journey away. Two days round trip, plus two or three days for the mission—it wouldn't even be a week. Why change clothes? At worst, he'd just wear them inside out.
"You guys are quite fast."
Miura Kikuchi was quite satisfied with this. Standing beside him were two other followers of the Jashin Religion. They were his assistants and also executors for this mission. Rather than executors, however, Miura Kikuchi and the others were more like supervisors.
The Archbishop knew the strength of Hidan and Simu. Completing such a mission shouldn't be a problem. The key was how they would complete it and whether they would cause any trouble. Especially Hidan—if left unsupervised and allowed to run wild, the Jashin Religion might find itself under siege by the Five Great Nations by tomorrow!
"Alright, stop nagging and let's go," Hidan said impatiently.
Miura Kikuchi gave Hidan a deep look but said nothing, walking straight into the forest. As for the other two followers, they dared not speak at all. Everyone at the Jashin Religion headquarters knew the tyrannical reputation of the two Divine Sons. Offending them was no different from suicide. Especially Hidan, who would truly hack someone down just because he didn't like the look of them!
The Jashin Religion headquarters was built deep in the mountains. The surrounding woods were lush, but there weren't many wild animals. Anything larger—forget tigers or black bears, even rabbits—had been caught by the sect members to be sacrificed to Lord Jashin. Now, Simu and Hidan could only see tiny Black Beetles or the occasional Raven flying through the sky.
As they walked, Miura Kikuchi began to introduce the mission.
"Our mission is to arrive at Mizuo Village by tomorrow night. Use our Jashin Religion necklaces to contact Mr. Sakamoto and get intelligence on Gato from him. Then, we head to the headquarters of the Gato Shipping Company to take him out."
Hearing Miura Kikuchi's long explanation, Hidan gave a bored yawn.
"What intelligence? What Sakamoto? If we want to kill that Gato guy, can't we just find him and kill him?"
Hidan looked at Miura Kikuchi with disdain, as if mocking his intelligence. Miura Kikuchi's face darkened. "Before a battle, one must collect the enemy's intelligence!"
Hidan threw him a contemptuous look and said nonchalantly, "Collecting intelligence is what the weak do. The strong just go over, kill the enemy, and sacrifice them to Lord Jashin."
