Chapter 10 - These are Lord Jashin’s Instructions

Simu put down the book in his hand, a strange light flickering in his eyes. He remained still until a muffled "Mmph mmph" sound drifted down from the ceiling.

"What is it now?"

Simu looked up at the ceiling and casually dispelled the spider silk attached to Hidan's mouth.

Having finally regained his right to bark like a dog, Hidan immediately erupted into curses, "Bastard Simu! You've been reading for an entire day! This great me is about to starve to death!"

Only then did Simu remember that this guy didn't seem to have eaten this morning either. Actually, to be precise, he had eaten, but the food never reached his stomach.

"Fine. I thought you were so impressive with your Immortal Body that you didn't need to eat."

Simu brushed the dust off his clothes, stood up, and used a strand of silk to pull Hidan's head into his hand.

Hearing those words, Hidan said arrogantly, "Well, although I have an Immortal Body and it wouldn't matter if I didn't eat, I only have the strength to prepare sacrifices for Lord Jashin once I've had a full meal..."

"Mm-hmm."

Simu gave a perfunctory nod.

Hidan grew anxious and explained earnestly, "I'm telling the truth! I won't die even if I don't eat!"

Simu nodded seriously. "I believe you. Since it's an Immortal Body bestowed by Lord Jashin, not eating is obviously no problem."

Hidan's face turned bright red. This bastard Simu was clearly treating him like a child and humoring him! To prove just how powerful Lord Jashin's immortal physique was, he made a decision.

"I'm not eating!"

"Huh?"

Simu looked at Hidan as if he were looking at a mentally disabled child. He had just said he was hungry, but now that they were at the Cafeteria, he refused to eat.

Hidan gritted his teeth and said fiercely, "I must prove Lord Jashin's greatness! I absolutely cannot let Lord Jashin be shamed!"

"Uh..."

Simu scratched his nose. It took him a moment to sort through Hidan's twisted logic. If he didn't eat, it proved the Immortal Body didn't require food, which proved the Immortal Body was amazing, which further proved Lord Jashin's greatness?

To maintain the meager bond he shared with Hidan, Simu explained, "I really didn't mean I'd look down on you just because you need to eat."

It would have been better if Simu hadn't spoken. By saying this, Hidan felt as if he could already see the smug, mocking smile hidden in Simu's heart. The moment he ate, this bastard would surely put on an annoying face and mock him!

No, I definitely can't eat!

Hidan shook his head firmly.

Seeing this, Simu stopped trying to persuade him. He directly ordered ten servings of Hidan's favorite pork cutlet rice and ate them one by one right in front of him. The crispy fried pork cutlets were coated in breadcrumbs; when cut open, the rich cheese filling inside stretched out in long strings, releasing an incredibly enticing aroma...

Hidan gritted his teeth and squeezed his eyes shut. Unfortunately, that thick fragrance still lingered around his nose. After Simu had eaten his fill, he finally sewed Hidan's head back onto his body.

"Goodnight, classmate Hidan."

Simu gave Hidan a slight smile and then closed his own bedroom door. Hidan's expression was grim. He touched the stitched lines on his neck that had been repaired countless times, his mood dark. Most importantly, he was truly starving! However, for Lord Jashin's dignity, he had to endure.

It wasn't until midnight that Hidan finally couldn't take it anymore. He pressed himself against the wall, confirming repeatedly that Simu next door was asleep. Only then did he tiptoe out of his room and head toward the Cafeteria.

Little did he know, a tiny spider was hanging from the ceiling, witnessing Hidan's departure the entire time. Since it was the middle of the night, there was no one in the Cafeteria, allowing Hidan to slip in easily.

"Bastard Simu! Once I've eaten my fill, I'll kill you sooner or later! Then Lord Jashin will know that I am the strongest follower!"

Hidan spoke through gritted teeth as he recalled the humiliations of the past two days. After some rummaging, he found his favorite fried pork cutlets. Although they were cold, he couldn't care less at this point and began devouring them.

"Mmm! So good!"

Hidan was chewing huge mouthfuls when he suddenly frowned. He felt something hard against his teeth.

"Pah!"

He spat it out. A thumb-sized object flew from his mouth.

"Who's so wicked that they'd hide things in the pork cutlets!"

Hidan complained with great dissatisfaction. Upon closer inspection, the thing that had hurt his mouth was actually a small scroll.

"A scroll?"

Hidan's brow furrowed. He felt as if something bad was about to happen. Driven by curiosity, he carefully opened the scroll.

Classmate Hidan, is the pork cutlet delicious?

The moment he saw those words, embarrassment and fury exploded in Hidan's heart, ultimately turning into a sky-shattering rage.

"Kamizuki Simu! I'm going to kill you!"

In the dormitory far away, Simu picked his ear and smiled slightly. Such a reaction was exactly as he had predicted. Furthermore, he wasn't staying awake late at night just to play a prank on Hidan.

Inside the temple, the Blood Pool suddenly began to boil violently. This anomaly was quickly discovered by the guarding followers. A few minutes later, the Archbishop appeared on the scene.

"Archbishop, look!" a follower said, pointing at the ground.

The blood flowing from the Blood Pool had formed a large, crimson character on the floor: [Sacrifice].

The Archbishop looked, his eyes radiating shocked and excited light.

"Lord Jashin has manifested!"

His hands trembled slightly. For so many years, they had performed countless ritual sacrifices, but Lord Jashin had never given a response. Now that Jashin was actively demanding a sacrifice, did it mean the time for His return to the Shinobi World was drawing near?

With an excited heart and trembling hands, the Archbishop immediately summoned all followers. He ordered them to begin scouring the mountains for all kinds of wild beasts and venomous creatures to sacrifice to Lord Jashin starting tomorrow.

At the same time, Simu, lying in his room, wore a satisfied smile. The life energy he had accumulated previously—the energy stored in the Blood Pool—had been exhausted during the process of analyzing genes and creating his human body and Kagune. Now, he had to replenish enough life energy to continue gene analysis and create more Jashin race members to strengthen his power.

Rather than exerting himself to hunt beasts in the mountains alone, it was better to use the resources of the Jashin Religion and have them accumulate resources for him. He could get enough rest while replenishing energy and increasing his strength.

It was a total win-win!

Just like that, for the following period of time, the entire Jashin Religion fell into a state of intense busyness.
