What if the one you feared was your fated savior?
What if telekinesis crushed betrayal at the last second?
Damn, X City's reunion is a powder keg of love and rage.
Elara got into the Land Rover alone.
Silas and Piper stayed in the Golden Lion.
"Brother… do you have feelings for Elara?"
Piper asked tentatively, now that they were alone.
Silas pressed his lips together.
Dark, unreadable emotions flickered in his eyes.
"I really like Elara. She's so powerful."
"If she became my sister-in-law, I'd be so lucky!" Piper grinned.
She knew her brother well.
Silas's silence meant he was truly smitten.
Growing up, the more he liked something, the quieter he became.
Never showing a single sign.
"But Brother, if you really like her, you have to make a move!"
"I saw Elias looking at her too—don't fall behind!" Piper urged, worried about his reserved nature.
Silas lowered his eyes slightly.
Muttered a soft "Hmm."
Piper got up early.
Prepared a hearty breakfast.
The five of them ate their fill.
Regrouped in the Land Rover, continuing toward X City.
No accidents, they'd arrive in three hours.
Qian Chuan's group followed at a distance.
Elara kept her eyes closed, seemingly meditating.
But her heart was far from calm.
X City was almost here.
Yet she had an urge to turn around and run.
She didn't know how to face Kael.
Or rather—she didn't want to see him.
Even though she knew this rebirth was for him.
Had repeatedly vowed to treat him well, protect him.
To live in peace with his family.
But now that she was about to see him, she hesitated.
This conflicting feeling tormented her.
Until Jaxon yelled excitedly beside her:
"X City! We're finally here!"
Elara jolted awake.
Her palms were soaked with sweat.
"Hey, is X City building a Safe Zone?" Piper asked.
Staring at the half-finished gate and walls in the distance.
"Probably. But we don't know who's leading it."
"Will they restrict outsiders like us?" Elias pushed up his glasses, serious.
"Bang!"
The door was suddenly kicked open.
Reno Stark, guarding outside, froze.
Then his face lit up with joy.
"Boss! You're awake!"
Kael stumbled forward, his eyes blood-red.
A faint dark red flame mark loomed on his forehead.
His gaze was empty, filled with violence.
Reno's heart skipped a beat.
He sensed something was terribly wrong with his boss.
"Boss~ It's me, Reno! Where are you going? Boss!"
Kael paid him no mind.
Staggering down the corridor.
Reno gestured to his men, who quickly followed.
"Captain Reno, what's wrong with the boss?"
"He looks… possessed!" a young man trembled, staring at Kael's back.
"Shut up! The boss just woke up."
"He's gonna crush Cyrus and those traitors!" another spat angrily.
"Cyrus that bastard! Stole our men, tried to kick us out of X City."
"Heartless scumbag—if he falls into my hands, I'll tear him apart!"
"That's enough, cut the crap!" Reno frowned.
"Keep up with the boss. Don't let anything happen to him!"
Reno and Zhu Jun each led a team.
Zhu Jun's team protected Kael's parents.
Reno's team guarded Kael.
Since Kael fell into a coma, two-thirds of his men had deserted.
Now Reno's team had only six people.
Zhu Jun's had four.
Including family members and Kael's parents, they totaled twenty-four.
Kael had insisted on waiting for Elara at Champs Elysées Hotel.
So they still stayed there.
No supplies from Kael, deserting men.
Even Cyrus—who'd relied on Kael's influence to gather people for the Safe Zone—betrayed him.
Kael's loyal men were furious.
But Cyrus was now the Safe Zone's leader, with countless followers.
Outnumbered and unsure if Kael would survive, they'd endured in silence.
But Cyrus grew bolder.
This morning, he'd given them an ultimatum:
Evict the hotel.
The men chased Kael to the hotel entrance.
Just as Cyrus arrived with an armed team.
"Oh, leaving so soon?"
"Seems like your numbers are down," Cyrus sneered.
He was in his thirties, pale, beardless, with a triangular face.
Small eyes sharp with scheming and malice.
His gaze swept over Reno's group.
Landed on the figure at the front.
His pupils shrank violently.
"Kael! You're awake?"
Cyrus stepped back, hiding behind his men.
Staring fixedly at Kael.
Kael didn't notice.
Stared straight in one direction, muttering softly:
"Elara~ Elara's back~"
Reno and his men rushed to Kael's side.
Glaring warily at Cyrus.
"Now that my boss is awake, your days are numbered!"
Cyrus stared at Kael for a moment.
Then grinned maliciously.
"So what if he's awake? He's just a madman."
"Do you think I'm afraid of him?"
He pulled out a pistol quickly.
Pointed it at Reno.
"Be smart—gather your people and get out of X City."
"Otherwise…" He cocked the gun.
Pointed it directly at Kael.
His team followed suit, aiming at Reno's group.
Reno and his men drew their guns without hesitation.
Gnashing their teeth:
"Cyrus, you're a monster! Without my boss, you never would've gathered so many people."
"Never would've had so many supplies—even these guns were gifts from him!"
"And now you're pointing them at us!"
Cyrus's face darkened.
A ruthless glint flashed in his eyes.
"X City only needs one leader—me."
"Kael was just a stepping stone!"
"Wow, someone's got a big mouth."
A lazy voice rang out suddenly.
Startling both sides.
They turned to see a Land Rover parked nearby.
Doors opened.
Three men and one woman walked over slowly.
The man in the lead crossed his arms.
Eyebrows raised, lips curved in a smirk.
Oozing unruliness.
"Jaxon, this guy's even cockier than you," Piper sneered.
Looking Cyrus up and down disdainfully.
"Hey! I'm not that shameless!" Jaxon glared.
"I'd never do something as backstabbing and heartless as him!"
Elias nodded seriously.
"That's one thing Jaxon can't top."
Piper laughed.
Staring at Cyrus, whose face turned red and blue with embarrassment.
"Who are you? Daring to meddle in Safe Zone business!"
"As leader, I have the right to kick you out!" Cyrus snapped.
"Oh~ someone's really taken with himself."
"Sticking a green onion up a pig's nose—trying to look like an elephant!"
"Too bad I don't give a damn," Jaxon sniffed.
Looking at Cyrus with pure contempt.
"You~ you~ just wait! I'll deal with you later!"
Cyrus knew now wasn't the time to fight outsiders.
His priority was to get rid of Kael—once and for all.
He stared coldly at Kael, who stood motionless, staring blankly.
Raised his hand.
All his men raised their guns in unison.
"What are you doing? Have you no shame?"
"Don't forget who fed you when you first came to X City!"
"Now you're pointing guns at your savior!" Reno's face turned livid.
He winked at his men.
They immediately shielded Kael behind them.
One man rushed into the hotel to find Zhu Jun.
"That's right! How many of you swore to follow Boss Voss?"
"Deserted him when he was comatose—he never should've taken you in!" another man shouted angrily.
"Hmph, Er Maozi! Who we follow is our business."
"Mind your own!" one of Cyrus's men retorted.
"A wise bird chooses its tree. Kael's half-dead—what future is there with him?"
"I regret following that tyrant Kael, who flies off the handle at the drop of a hat!"
Cyrus's men shot back without backing down.
With Cyrus's backing, they had nothing to fear.
"Bullshit! Without the boss's guns, ammo, and food,"
"would you be standing here so boldly?" Er Maozi's eyes bulged.
Breathing heavily with rage.
"Enough talk. If you won't leave, I'll send you packing!"
Cyrus waved his hand, about to give the order.
A soft, faint female voice cut through the tension:
"Since all this belongs to the Voss family…"
"you should return it."
Before the words faded.
Cyrus froze in terror.
His pistol seemed to come alive.
Wriggling uncontrollably, flying upward.
"Ah! What the hell?"
"My gun!"
Zhu Jun arrived with his men.
Just in time to see this incredible sight.
All the guns in Cyrus's men's hands floated three meters into the air.
While Reno's and Zhu Jun's guns remained firmly in their grasp.
Reno was stunned for a second.
Then watched as his boss stumbled toward the Land Rover.
His tall figure swayed slightly.
Hands reaching forward unconsciously.
The blankness in his eyes faded—replaced by star-like brilliance.
"Elara~ Elara~ I'm here to pick you up~"
Reno gasped.
A sudden realization hit him.
He spun around to look at the Land Rover.
The passenger door opened.
A pair of long, slender legs in black leather pants stepped out first.
Then a woman with tied-back hair, wearing a golden princess mask.
Stepped out of the car.
