Inside the private dining room.
"What did I do wrong?" Christal Russell muttered. "Number Four just has a runny nose. Is there any need to make a mountain out of a molehill? Mom, Dad, Ian is a top student, but his behavior certainly doesn't reflect it. You need to rein him in."
She was putting Ian on a pedestal just to knock him down, elevating his status only to belittle his actions.
Mr. Quincy was utterly disgusted by Christal's petty scheming, but he kept quiet. Instead, he fixed his gaze on Christal's other three children. The kids, who had been causing a ruckus, were frightened by his stern stare and obediently sat up straight to eat. The atmosphere at the dining table turned freezing cold.
Christal cleared her throat. "Dad, the weather's going to get hot in a while, so we're planning to move back into the courtyard house. Since Number Three doesn't have a room, she can just share with Claire."
