° 8 years later °
Inside the Hydra base, in a cell with an iron bed and no decoration, a 15 year old girl could be seen wearing a collar. Her skin was cinnamon colored, looking bright and healthy. Her hair was white and straight, tied in a ponytail. Her eyes were dark crimson, almost like blood, and her figure resembled that of an 18 year old teenager—athletic and well-formed in all the right places. But what stood out about her were her rabbit ears, which had a cute appearance, and her cotton like tail. She wore a prison uniform. It was Rumi, and she was meditating at this moment.
She had spent some very turbulent years at Hydra's base, from her training to her torture. She only strengthened her will with these abuses. She learned everything she could from all the masters she had. With her photographic memory and reflexes, she quickly became an expert in all martial arts and forms of assassination. She learned military tactics and technology, but all of that pales in comparison to what she achieved. Finally, she obtained Conqueror's and Armament Haki. It was difficult and required her to be on the verge of death to obtain it.
(Flash back)
"Sir, isn't this dangerous?" asked a rookie soldier with some hesitation as he was about to shoot Subject 6R with one of the latest disintegration weapons Hydra had since World War II.
"The subject can withstand anything, begin the process," the scientist ordered as he watched Rumi being shot.
She instantly detected a real threat with her Observation Haki. Knowing she didn't have time to dodge, she tried to protect herself with all her willpower. She felt as if she unlocked something hidden from her: Armament Haki. She covered herself with it instantly, but was still disintegrated. From Rumi's ashes came a shockwave—Conqueror's Haki—but it wasn't strong enough and had no range, so no one noticed. After two days, Rumi recovered and was whole again. It seemed her regenerative factor had only become faster, but she knew better: she had become stronger. Her Haki was now unlocked; everything would become easier.
(End of the flashback)
"It's a good thing I unlocked my Haki at that moment, because otherwise, not even ashes would remain; I would have truly died," Rumi thought calmly. "Today I'm going to escape from this base and destroy all the information, but first I must get rid of the power-nullifying necklace." It doesn't work so well on her, since she still has her powers, but it weakens her enough to be an obstacle to her escape, she told herself with concentration.
"Alright, I just have to wait for them to give me my food, then the plan will begin and I'll take off this annoying collar," Rumi said, eagerly awaiting the escape. She didn't have to wait long.
"Hey, bunny, here's your food, take your favorite," a hydra guard mockingly said as he placed a plate of mashed potatoes and carrots.
Rumi just looked at it and ate the carrots, leaving the mashed potatoes with a new surprise: an EMP bomb. When she put down her plate, the guard picked it up and took it to the kitchen, but not before throwing the mashed potatoes in the trash. After a while, the janitor picked up the trash can and slowly walked to the door, stopping by the command room to collect his garbage. But just as he opened the door, the bomb exploded, and all the security and communication systems stopped working in an instant. Hydra's base was cut off from the world.
Instantly all the devices stopped working and the security systems did not respond, releasing all the cells.
Rumi, who was waiting patiently in his cell, saw everything go dark, his cell open, and his collar beep and come loose, returning all his power to Rumi.
The two guards who watched all this in horror threw down their weapons and escaped, only to be caught by Rumi with a jump and left headless by her kick.
Rumi only saw the corpses and ran away knowing she had no time to lose, she ran through the corridors killing everyone she encountered, she ran and headed towards someone she wanted to see.
She arrived at her destination in just a few minutes, the laboratory. The instant she entered, she saw Dr. Charles, who was equipping and taking away her entire database. The instant she saw her, she tried to escape, but a kick to the legs took away her mobility.
"It's good to see you, doctor. I'll keep all of that," Rumi said maliciously as she dragged the doctor onto her dissection table, where she experimented on him. After chaining him up, she went to the computer and reviewed all the data there, and she was surprised.
'This son of a bitch had data on his DNA, it seems he had almost managed to decipher it, he also had many anti-mutant and anti-Rumi weapons, and all kinds of technology, including alien technology and the position of other Hydra bases,' he thought as he downloaded everything to a USB drive he found lying around and made a small incision in his abdomen where he placed the USB drive before it healed, after that he destroyed everything without leaving a single record of his research.
'From what I could gather from his conversations, he was a corrupt individual who pocketed most of the funds. He didn't share any of his research with anyone else, so no other Hydra base had his data. They didn't even know the abilities, appearance, or name of the miraculous test subject who would grant them immortality. As far as Hydra and SHILD were concerned, I mysteriously disappeared in the orphanage explosion, and it's believed that Russia kidnapped me. There's no connection between me and Subject 6R. I suppose I have his greed and avarice to thank for that,' Rumi thought with a touch of glee as she approached the doctor who was shouting incoherently. When she arrived, she decided what she would do to him for all the pain he had caused.
"Before, when I was a child, I thought about all the things I would do with you when I had you, but now I can only feel sorry for the fool you were. I guess I have to thank you for that. Nobody outside this base knows who I am, not even Hydra. Now I am free and nobody will stop me. Hydra won't know who killed him. Thank you for that. You can die in peace. I guess trash is good for something after all," Rumi said calmly as she grabbed one of the bottles from the shelf and poured it down the doctor's throat.
This was just a single scream of pain before his entire stomach melted and he died with his intestines exposed.
Rumi ran towards the power generator; with her haki she knew that no one had left the base yet, but it was only a matter of time before they did, and she wasn't going to allow it.
She ran all over the base, killing every soldier she saw until she reached the power generator, where a huge contingent of armed and ready soldiers awaited her.
"Raise your hands and kneel, demon, we have you surrounded!!" the Hydra commander shouted fiercely, thinking he could recapture Rumi, unaware that he had sentenced himself to death.
"Let's see who gets killed, you son of a bitch!" Rumi shouted excitedly, eager to fight and test all his strength.
"I fired!!" shouted the commander as all the soldiers opened fire. Rumi simply dodged and leaped in front of some soldiers. With a kick, he sliced a man in half. Using the corpse as momentum, he jumped towards another soldier and decapitated him with a kick. The soldiers were frightened and escaped throwing grenades, only for him to kick them all back. They exploded with force and killed many. The few who remained were quickly killed by Rumi with punches and quick kicks.
The commander, who had witnessed everything, removed his uniform shirt, revealing his body modified with cybernetic implants. With great speed, he attempted to deliver a right hook to Rumi, only for her to dodge it and deliver a hook that disoriented him. Taking advantage of this, Rumi climbed onto his shoulders while applying a headlock that broke his neck, killing him without further ado.
"I would have liked to torture you, I really would, but I don't have time to waste, they're already starting to mobilize all the units for the escape, I hope you rot in hell, you son of a bitch," Rumi said disdainfully as she spat on the corpse of the commander who captured her and murdered Margot.
It only took Rumi a few moments to poison the power generator with plutonium. This explosion will erase everything within a 30-kilometer radius in 2 minutes, enough time to escape, although only she will. With communications and equipment broken, everyone will die, and no one will know about it until a month later, when they come to investigate why they stopped giving reports. By then, she will be out of the country.
Rumi didn't think twice and ran with all her might, destroying walls, doors, and even people in her path, not stopping for anything. After descending the mountain, it exploded in a shockwave that sent Rumi flying. After a few minutes, as the dust settled, a Rumi emerged who regenerated at a visible rate. She had a huge smile on her face; she was free. Without realizing it, she shed a few silent tears.
"What will you do now?" an unknown figure asked Rumi. She turned around to see a divine being, an androgynous angel with six wings, wrapped in jewels and gold with a crown of fire. He was a god, and she didn't know why he was there.
"Who are you? What do you want from me?" Rumi asked fearfully, for she knew she could not confront this divine being.
"Do not fear my child, I am the god of the normal earth, your home and your origin, I just wanted to see how you are," the divine being said affectionately.
Rumi just stared in disbelief; she thought there was no god on earth, and that angered her more than anything.
"You knew I was in the void, didn't you? You knew I was suffering in the void for a long time and you did nothing," Rumi said with a hatred like no other, that bastard called god left her to her fate in the void and appears here as if they were old friends.
"That is the purification that every soul goes through to rid itself of the unfulfilled desires and dreams in its life. Your desires and will were stronger than the emptiness. I regret your suffering, but you have to let go. The death of your mother and Margot is shattering your spirit. It wasn't your fault," the god said pitifully, which surprised and enraged Rumi.
"What gives you the right to talk about them?! You don't know anything!!" I shouted with sadness and anger.
"I know more than you do. I know how much you hate yourself for their deaths. I know that every time you look in the mirror, you only see a failure. I know you could have escaped from this prison six years ago, that you could have killed everyone even with your nerve-shattering collar. You could even have destroyed the information and left, but you didn't. It was your penance. You thought you deserved all that pain and suffering, so you invented reasons to suffer. When you no longer had any reason to stay here, you lied to yourself, saying you were calm and that you knew what you would do after leaving here: keep killing people until Hydra no longer exists. You are breaking down. Your soul is being contaminated with sadness and despair. You have to forgive yourself," the divine being said with compassion and love.
Upon hearing this, Rumi simply stood there, trying to deny the words of this hypocritical being, but she couldn't. At that moment, Rumi unleashed her emotions and collapsed to the ground, weeping bitterly. She tried to make sense of the pain and suffering she endured during those nine years in that prison, but she couldn't find it. She had wasted her life, all to try to punish herself and shift the blame for Margot's death onto Hydra. She didn't believe that Margot or her mother would want to see her like this, miserable and helpless.
"What will you do now?" the god asked Rumi gently. He wanted her to know what to do and what she would do with her life. She had been given a new life to live, not to suffer.
"I-I don't know," Rumi said through tears. Because of how stupid she had been, the being who saw Rumi so devastated felt sorry for her, so decided to give her a purpose, a goal that she could follow and complete.
"Just be happy, my innocent child. This world may be full of evil, and what can be said of the universe, but the one who gave you a new life didn't give it to you to come and suffer. He gave it to you for yourself, to live, not to survive. Love yourself and forgive yourself. Live to seek the happiness that Margot and your mother wanted you to have. That is the mission and purpose I give you, until you find your reason to live," said the divine being with authority and kindness while stroking Rumi's head to comfort her.
Rumi could only look with awe, sadness and hope at the divine being; she believes it is time to move forward, to leave the past behind and look to the future.
"But I will still get my revenge," she said mischievously and mockingly through tears, determined to stop being a crybaby and forgive herself, to show that she is strong and that all the gifts she received were not in vain.
"That will be your decision, my child, but if you do it, you have my approval. All of Hydra's people are trash," the god said with amusement, liking Rumi's attitude.
"Thank you for saving me," Rumi said with gratitude and happiness. She didn't know how much pain and suffering she would cause herself just to avoid feeling guilty about the death of her mother and Margot. The god just shook his head in amusement.
"No problem, live your life, okay? Usually, no god has to come and tell mortals to value their lives," the god said mockingly. "Goodbye," he said before everything lit up and the god disappeared.
"Goodbye mother, goodbye Margot," Rumi said with a smile, as a tear of happiness and hope fell.
