Chapter 32: You're All Veteran Actors!
Seeing Ren's face darken, Lucy felt momentarily flustered.
"Bleugh!"
Suddenly, Natsu, who was beside Gray, vomited, interrupting their conversation.
Gray jumped straight up from his seat, looking at the vomit on his clothes with utter disgust.
"Damn it! You motion-sick bastard!"
Smashing a fist onto the unconscious Natsu's head, Gray stripped off his shirt in disgust.
"Hahaha! Natsu's still the same, huh!"
Seeing this, Ren couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"So, are you heading out on a request?"
Getting back to business, Ren looked at Erza curiously and asked.
"That's right! Since you're here, help us out!"
Hearing Ren's question, Erza's eyes lit up, and she explained the situation to him.
A moment later, Zeus and Prometheus appeared before everyone.
"With Ren here, the Eisenwald problem will be easily solved."
Gray, having pushed Natsu into the corner with disgust, looked at Ren with shining eyes.
"Don't count on it. I'm not participating in the request."
Ren grinned and leaned back lazily in his seat.
The expression on Gray's face froze, and he looked at Ren resentfully.
"Ren, Eisenwald's goal is to summon the demon Lullaby. I hope you can help!"
Erza looked at Ren sincerely, her eyes serious.
Being stared at by Erza's earnest and innocent eyes, Ren spread his hands and snapped his fingers.
In an instant, Zeus and Prometheus sped over, appearing in everyone's view.
"Prometheus, follow Erza."
"I'll head to the regular Guild Master meeting alone."
After assigning Zeus and Prometheus to Erza's side, Ren patted himself down and stood up.
Suddenly, Ren stopped.
His gaze fell on a seat not far away in the carriage.
Smiling, he walked slowly toward a person whose face was completely hidden under a black robe.
Patting the person's shoulder, Ren grinned. "Seen enough yet?"
Ren's sudden move startled the person.
He quickly looked up, met Ren's smiling eyes, and pretended nothing was wrong.
"What are you talking about?"
"It doesn't matter if you don't understand."
Ren stared at him with a smile, reaching his hand toward the man's neck.
Ren's movement wasn't fast.
But when the man tried to dodge Ren's arm, it was as if he were controlled, watching helplessly as Ren's hand clamped around his neck.
Gripping the man's neck, Ren lifted him straight up.
A suffocating fear instantly flooded his heart. The man struggled constantly, his face turning red.
Seeing this, Erza and the others rushed forward.
"Ren, what are you doing?!"
Erza hurried to Ren's side, seeing him strangling the man, and shouted at him.
Glancing at the man whose face was beet red and looked ready to die from suffocation any moment, Ren swung his arm hard, throwing the man away.
As the man crashed heavily into the carriage wall, Ren said to Erza, "This is the Eisenwald member you've been looking for."
"What?"
"How did you know?!"
Hearing Ren's words, Gray and Erza looked surprised.
Only when Zeus revealed the guild mark on the man did they believe Ren.
"Quick, search him! See if Lullaby is on him!"
Erza snapped back to reality and shouted at Gray.
Gray nodded, rushed to the man, and searched him.
But after searching for a while, he didn't find the flute on the man.
The man sneered and said to Erza and the others, "Lullaby is in the Guild Master's hands. Just wait for your Guild Master to be cursed to death!"
The man's eyes were filled with resentment as he stared straight at Ren.
"Fairy Tail flies, just wait to have your souls completely sucked dry by Lullaby's curse and die!"
The man laughed maniacally, shouting venomously at Ren.
"So noisy!"
Before Ren could speak, Zeus beside him suddenly let out a roar.
Lightning surged around him, and a bolt erupted from Zeus, piercing straight through the man's body.
The man's body jerked. He looked at the lightning-wreathed Zeus in disbelief, then closed his eyes unwillingly, dead.
"Ren, hurry to the Guild Master! He's in danger!"
Erza's face was grave as she shouted to Ren.
Ren nodded, not refusing this time.
"Zeus, let's go!"
Jumping onto Zeus, he shot out of the carriage in the blink of an eye, disappearing from everyone's sight.
Sitting cross-legged on Zeus, Ren looked calm, not worried about Makarov at all.
In the original story, the demon Lullaby was easily defeated by Erza and the others. Could it really threaten Makarov's safety?
Zeus sped all the way and soon arrived at the regular meeting place.
Seeing a group of old men sitting there drinking afternoon tea, Ren sighed.
He really didn't want to deal with these old guys.
Jumping off Zeus's back, Ren put his hands in his pockets and walked toward Makarov.
Hearing the commotion behind them, the Guild Masters turned their gazes toward Ren.
"Ren? Why are you here?"
Seeing Ren appear suddenly, Makarov was surprised.
Ren told Makarov everything that had happened, then sat beside him and started feasting.
Traveling was tiring; it wasn't too much to ask for some food, right?
After learning the full story, Makarov wasn't worried at all. He even told Ren to stay and handle it if necessary.
Watching these veteran actors, Ren couldn't help but sigh.
"Long time no see, everyone!"
Ren smiled and waved to the several Guild Masters present.
Ren was familiar with these people.
The Guild Masters of the light guilds.
They were old acquaintances of Ren.
While Ren was feasting, a furious gale suddenly struck.
A man holding a scythe, with a crazed look on his face, appeared in midair.
Looking down at the top figures of the light guilds, the scythe-wielding man's eyes grew even more insane.
He pulled a black flute from his robe, with a skull shape at the top.
With a crazed expression, the man muttered to himself, "You old geezers, be devoured completely by Zeref's demon!"
