Chapter 13 time forget my past
As I lay on Vihaan's bed, I felt a gentle presence beside me. Vihaan's mom, Mrs. Sharma, sat down and gently stroked my hair. "Poor thing, you're safe now. Don't worry, I'll take care of you," she said, her voice warm and comforting.
I felt a wave of relief wash over me, grateful for her kindness. Mrs. Sharma had always been like a mother to me when I was dating Vihaan, and her presence brought back memories of happier times.
Mrs. Sharma gently helped me into a comfortable position and covered me with a blanket. "Get some rest, Janvi. We'll talk in the morning," she said, smiling softly.
As I drifted off to sleep, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. I knew I was in good hands with Mrs. Sharma, and that thought brought me comfort.
Meanwhile, Vihaan sat outside his room, watching over me with concern etched on his face. His mom came out a little later, a gentle smile on her face. "She's asleep, beta. Don't worry, I'll take care of her."
Vihaan nodded, feeling a mix of emotions. He had missed Janvi, and seeing her again brought back all the feelings he thought he had overcome. But he knew he had to be careful, considering how hurt she was.
As the night wore on, Vihaan's mom went back to sleep, leaving Vihaan to keep watch over Janvi. He sat outside her room, his mind racing with thoughts of what could have been, and what still could be.
The next morning, I slowly woke up, feeling a bit groggy from the previous night's drinking. I looked around, trying to remember where I was, and that's when I saw Mrs. Sharma sitting beside me, smiling.
"Good morning, Janvi. How are you feeling?" she asked, her voice warm and concerned.
I tried to sit up, but my head was pounding. "I...I'm fine, Mrs. Sharma. Thank you for taking care of me," I said, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Just then, I heard a knock on the door. Mrs. Sharma got up to answer it, and I saw Raj standing there, looking relieved. "Janvi's mom was worried sick about her. She asked me to bring her home," he said, his eyes scanning the room until they landed on me.
Mrs. Sharma nodded, and Raj came over to help me up. As he wrapped his arm around me, I felt a spark of gratitude towards him. Vihaan, who had been watching from the doorway, felt a pang of jealousy. He didn't like seeing Janvi with Raj, didn't like the way Raj was touching her.
As we said our goodbyes, Vihaan's mom thanked Raj for coming to pick me up. "Please take care of Janvi, Raj. She's like a daughter to me," she said, her voice filled with concern.
Raj nodded, smiling. "Don't worry, Mrs. Sharma. I'll take care of her."
As we walked out of the house, my mom was waiting outside, looking tense. "Janvi, where were you? I was worried sick about you," she said, her voice stern.
I sighed, feeling guilty. "I'm sorry, Mom. I went out with Aaradhya and had a bit too much to drink. She dropped me off at Vihaan's house, and Raj came to pick me up."
My mom looked at Raj, gratitude in her eyes. "Thank you, Raj. I owe you one."
Raj smiled, shaking his head. "No need to thank me, Aunty. I'm just glad Janvi's safe."
As we walked away, I could feel Vihaan's eyes on me, but I didn't look back. I knew I needed to move on, and Raj was the one who was there for me.As we walked away from Vihaan's house, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. I was finally moving on from the toxic relationship and focusing on myself. Raj's presence beside me was comforting, and I was grateful for his support.
"Thanks for coming to pick me up, Raj," I said, smiling weakly at him. "I don't know what I would do without you."
Raj smiled back, his eyes warm with concern. "You'll never have to find out, Janvi. I'm here for you, always."
My mom looked at me sternly as we walked. "We'll talk about this later, Janvi. But for now, let's just get you home and cleaned up."
I nodded, feeling a bit sheepish. I knew I had worried my mom, and I was grateful that Raj had been there to pick me up.
As we reached my house, Raj helped me inside and said goodbye, promising to catch up with me later. My mom and I went inside, and she immediately started filling the bathtub with warm water.
"Get in, Janvi. You need to warm up and sober up," she said, her voice firm but gentle.
I nodded, feeling grateful for her care. As I soaked in the warm bathwater, I couldn't help but think about Vihaan and how far I'd come. I was done with the drama and heartache. It was time to focus on myself and my future. As I soaked in the warm bathwater, I felt my muscles relax, and my mind began to clear. I thought about Vihaan and the toxic relationship we had. I realized that I had been so caught up in the drama and heartache that I had forgotten what it meant to be happy and carefree.
I got out of the bathtub, feeling refreshed and renewed. My mom had left a cup of hot tea and some toast on the counter for me. I smiled, feeling grateful for her care.
As I sipped my tea and nibbled on the toast, I thought about Raj and his words of support. "You'll never have to find out, Janvi. I'm here for you, always." My heart fluttered at the thought of him being there for me.
I shook my head, chuckling to myself. Maybe I was reading too much into it, but I couldn't help the way I felt. Raj had been a rock for me during a difficult time, and I was grateful for his friendship.
As I finished my tea, I heard my phone buzzing. I picked it up to see a text from Aaradhya. "Hey, girl! How are you feeling? Sorry I dropped you off at Vihaan's house. I didn't mean to."
I smiled, feeling a bit embarrassed about the whole situation. I texted her back, "It's okay, Aaradhya. Thanks for looking out for me. I'll talk to you later."
As I put my phone down, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. I was surrounded by people who cared about me, and I was ready to move on from the past and focus on my future. Little did I know, life had other plans...
