Cherreads

Chapter 23 - Chapter 24 Truth and Evil

  Night fell.

Aoki returned to the Night Princess Society.

He stood on the roof of a nearby building, gazing into the distance.

Gray roof, white walls, a few cherry blossom trees in the corner—it didn't seem particularly special from the outside.

"Looks like I'll have to go in and take a look."

Aoki looked at a window on the second floor, his figure suddenly disappearing from the spot.

Paintings and calligraphy hung on the walls, an incense burner sat on the table, smoke rising, a faint, lingering fragrance permeating the air.

  A very elegant room.

Unfortunately, Aoki had no mind to appreciate it.

He quickly checked all the rooms, still finding nothing he was looking for.

"Another wasted trip? But I feel like something's not right."

Aoki murmured, then suddenly his expression changed, he looked towards the door, and then his figure vanished silently.

A group of people walked in.

The leader was extremely obese and short, looking like a giant ball of flesh from a distance.

Beside him were two middle-aged men of similar age, both with large bellies and bloated figures.

Behind the three men followed a dozen or so bodyguards.

  Click, click, click.

A wall painted with cherry blossom patterns suddenly split open, revealing a deep passageway.

The three middle-aged men filed in, hurrying deeper into the passage.

The bodyguards automatically dispersed, guarding key positions such as windows and doors.

The cherry blossom-patterned wall slowly closed.

Just as it completely shut, a dark figure suddenly appeared in the passageway, unnoticed even by the bodyguards who had been watching the wall.

"No wonder I felt something was off,"

Aoki thought, looking at the deep passageway, finally understanding the source of his strange feeling.

The space inside the attic was far smaller than it appeared from the outside!

It turned out that a portion of the space was hidden.

At the end of the passageway stood two guards.

Aoki quickly mentally rehearsed the situation several times, realizing that sneaking in without alerting the two guards would be difficult.

He had no choice but to take the risk.

If he failed… so be it.

He didn't necessarily need to investigate secretly.

Based on the current situation, he felt he had a high probability of getting what he wanted here.

Ripples spread through the air as a figure swiftly appeared.

The magnificent hall was silent, the crystal chandeliers on the ceiling casting a soft glow.

  Aoki's eyes widened in surprise.

He had expected this to be some dark, secret base, but it was far more luxurious.

However, now was not the time to be lost in thought; without hesitation, he activated "Spatial Teleportation" again.

The moment his figure vanished, a guard looked over, asking in confusion, "Was that a dark shadow that flashed by just now?"

His companion glanced at him: "You must be mistaken. There's not even a fly here!"

"Maybe I'm just too tired, hehehe, you don't know about that woman from yesterday..."

Aoki used "spatial teleportation" repeatedly, finally finding a safe area.

Unlike the magnificent palace he had just left, this place was dimly lit, cramped, and very oppressive.

It was somewhat like what he had initially imagined.

"Is this a prison?" Aoki quickly surveyed his surroundings, a look of doubt on his face.

On both sides were cramped rooms, without windows, with tightly closed doors, and even a place that looked like a food delivery window.

  Tap tap tap.

Suddenly, a series of footsteps sounded, and Aoki hid in the shadows and looked over.

Three women were walking towards them.

The one in the lead was a middle-aged woman in her early forties, holding a rope in one hand, the other end of which was tied around the necks of two girls.

"Huh?" Aoki stared at one of the girls with a puzzled look.

She had a delicate face and a slender figure; even with her hair disheveled, she was clearly a very beautiful woman.

But what attracted him was not her appearance or looks, but because he had seen this girl before!

When Keisuke Akiyama was instructing him, a photograph accidentally fell out of his pocket. It was of his missing fiancée, and she looked almost exactly like the girl before him!

"Could it be Mizuno Taeko? Wasn't she abducted by a ghost? Why is she here?"

Aoki's mind raced, and he suddenly realized he'd fallen into a trap.

The rumor that Mizuno Taeko had been abducted by a ghost was just that—a rumor, never confirmed.

He immediately thought of another question: what about the other missing people?

Was the culprit a ghost or a human?

The middle-aged woman shrieked, "Get in! This is your last chance. If you don't study properly tomorrow, don't blame me for being ruthless!"

  Bang!

  The door slammed shut.

Listening to the fading footsteps, Mizuno Taeko slowly collapsed, her face filled with despair and fear.

  Click!

A sudden sound rang out in the room.

Mizuno Taeko instinctively turned her head, then her eyes widened instantly.

Aoki covered her mouth, raised his index finger, and placed it in front of his lips.

  "Shh!"

Mizuno Taeko gradually calmed down, the panic in her eyes dissipating, replaced by curiosity and doubt. She nodded repeatedly, indicating that she understood.

Aoki released her, took a step back, and went straight to the point: "Are you Ms. Mizuno Taeko?"

Mizuno Taeko nodded, looking at Aoki cautiously: "I am Mizuno Taeko. May I ask who you are?"

Aoki did not answer, but asked again: "Where is this place? Have you been here since you were captured?"

"I've been here since I woke up from my coma."

A look of fear appeared on Mizuno Taeko's face: "I don't know where this place is. There are many women who have been captured here. Everyone's fate is different. Some disappeared after being taken away, while others are covered in wounds every day, as if they have suffered inhuman torture."

Some, like me, were forced to learn various techniques for serving men and were brainwashed into slavery.

Any resistance was met with beatings and verbal abuse; I personally witnessed two girls being strangled to death."

  "I understand."

Aoki stood up. "You stay here for now; I'll come rescue you in a bit." "

  You..."

Mizuno Taeko had just opened her mouth when the mysterious man in front of her suddenly disappeared again.

After a moment of stunned silence, she leaned against the wall, slowly sat down, hugged her shoulders, and curled up into a ball.

She didn't know if the mysterious man would return; she wasn't even sure if it was real, or if he was just a hallucination.

Aoki left the cell area and suddenly felt the air become hot and dry, filled with a strange, acrid smell.

Following the smell, he took a few steps forward, and a huge room appeared before him.

The most striking thing in the room was the huge furnace in the center, its opening open, with bright white flames dancing inside, waves of heat sweeping around.

Beside it was a cart with three naked female corpses on it, their bodies covered in wounds, their faces still bearing the marks of despair and fear.

Two masked people walked towards the cart.

"How many is this this week?"

  "Mind your own business!"

"I mean, such good women, just died like that, what a waste!"

"Are you worried about not having enough women here? I'll send you two tomorrow." "

As they spoke, they lifted the woman's corpse and walked towards the furnace.

Just as they were about to throw her into the fire,

  *splat! *

Two he@ds shot into the air.

Aoki's figure appeared beside them, looking at the two he@dless corpses, and coldly uttered two words: 'Deserved to die!'

This was his first time killing, yet he felt no discomfort, his mind filled with intense killing intent.

He completely understood where he was, and he also understood one thing: there were no innocent people here.

'To harm people in the name of ghosts, and ultimately be judged by ghosts—truly a cycle of cause and effect, retribution is inevitable!'" Aoki

glanced at the three female corpses, picked up a cloth from the side, covered them, and turned to leave.

As soon as Aoki stepped out of the incinerator room, two armored guards with long swords at their waists approached.

They were startled at first, then their expressions changed drastically, their hands quickly reaching for the hilts of their swords.

Aoki transformed into a black shadow, passing between them.

The two men's expressions instantly froze, and their he@ds fell off with a thud.

  The killing began silently.

Aoki, who had already sentenced everyone here except the victims to death in his mind, showed no mercy. Show mercy.

He@dless corpses fell one after another, blood flowing like a river across the ground.

This was a luxurious palace, magnificent yet solemn.

Inside were dozens of girls, all dressed in extremely revealing court attire, resembling erotic costumes.

At least a third of them were underage!

Three portly middle-aged men, completely n*ked, were enjoying the girls' services.

  Creak.

The palace doors opened, and everyone looked over.

Aoki slowly walked into the palace, his cold gaze sweeping over the three n*ked men.

  "Found you!"

Fujita frowned, displeased. "Is this a place for you? Get out!"

  *Thud!*

The two men beside him fell he@dless, Aoki's figure appearing beside them.

Fujita froze, then his expression changed drastically. He tried to back away but bumped into a chair and fell heavily to the ground.

  "Wait, let's talk this out!"

"Dying so easily, you got off easy!"

Aoki swept his right leg across the ground.

With a soft thud, another corpse lay on the floor. "

Stay here for now, don't run around!"

Aoki glanced at the girls—some numb, some terrified, some excited, some frantic—and said nothing more before turning and walking outside.

The culprit had been executed, but the trial was not over!

  Half an hour later,

Aoki gathered all the victims in the palace.

Looking around, he saw only young girls, the youngest under ten, the oldest no more than twenty.

He roughly estimated their number to be at least two hundred.

This was despite not knowing how many had died.

  "You are free. Go!" "

Aoki said simply, and his figure vanished like a bubble in the sunlight.

The palace was silent, without a sound.

All the girls wore expressions of bewilderment, trepidation, and disbelief.

The surprise had come too suddenly; they couldn't believe it for a moment.

Two seconds later, someone took the lead, and everyone frantically ran towards the exit.

Mizuno Taeko looked at the corpses on the ground, stepped over the blood, and ran wildly, feeling no fear, only overwhelming excitement.

The moment she burst through the gate and saw the starry sky, her eyes blurred.

Aoki stood on the roof of the Night Princess Shrine, watching the girls wailing and hysterically venting their emotions, sighed, and flew away.

Sometimes, people can be more terrifying than ghosts
