Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 Aoki's Gift

The horse-faced youth was dead, his neck broken, suffocated.

Aoki couldn't help but show surprise.

These people were all martial artists, quite strong, and they had just used lethal force; in the chaos, it wasn't impossible that they accidentally broke his neck.

However, it was quite a coincidence.

Seeing another corpse on the ground, Akiyama Keisuke jolted back to his senses.

  It's over!

  This has completely blown up!

The development of events far exceeded his expectations from the very beginning.

  No, it exceeded everyone's expectations!

He thought that it would be his junior brother Aomura who suffered. He never expected that the result would be completely reversed.

Fujita Nariyuki probably never imagined that his junior brother Aomura's response would be so violent.

In his last moment, he wondered if he regretted it.

Akiyama Keisuke's heart was filled with complex emotions. A practical training exercise had led to such a tragic result.

  Their dojo was also culpable!

In any case, they couldn't let things continue to develop like this.

Keisuke Akiyama took a deep breath and stepped forward. "Junior brother, Fujita Nariyuki is dead, and the culprit has also paid with his life. The others were also at fault, but their crimes don't warrant death. Spare their lives!"

Aoki turned to look at him.

Keisuke Akiyama subconsciously took a step back, and after realizing what he had done, his expression became somewhat awkward.

"Besides, Fujita Nariyuki framed you first. Killing him might leave you with some room for maneuver, but if you kill someone else, there will be no turning back!"

Aoki didn't seem to care about his reaction and said calmly, "Don't worry, senior brother, I never intended to kill them. I'm not a serial killer."

Fujita Nariyuki was dead, and the culprit had been killed by their own hand. The remaining people would live in this shadow forever.

For him, this ending was already perfect.

He didn't mind killing; the number of people who died at his hands today exceeded three digits.

But he would never kill indiscriminately.

As soon as Aoki finished speaking, the people around him collapsed, some even sobbing silently.

  "Thank you, junior brother!"

Akiyama Keisuke breathed a sigh of relief.

Aoki looked at the dojo: "Senior brother, then let's part ways here."

Akiyama Keisuke took two seconds to react: "You're leaving now?"

  Aoki nodded.

Fujita Nariyuki and the others were just minor issues.

The Night Princess Society, that den of demons, was the real super bomb.

He had cleared out the Night Princess Society, but the storm was not over; in fact, it had only just begun. The chain reaction that followed could blow the city up.

As the central figure in this storm, if he continued to stay here, countless troubles would inevitably come knocking.

The combat system was initially formed, the travel expenses were in hand, and even the missing persons case that he had given up hope of was solved.

Although it wasn't quite what he had imagined, the objectives had all been achieved.

Since that was the case, why not just leave?

  "Alright then!"

Akiyama Keisuke gave a wry smile. "I won't try to stop you!"

He suddenly remembered something and quickly added, "Oh, right, Miss Kanroji came looking for you today. I asked her to let you know not to go back to the dojo if she saw you.

She's been looking for you all day.

Before you leave, go and say hello to her!"

  "I understand!"

Aoki nodded slightly. "Thank you for taking care of me these past few days, senior brother. I've prepared a small gift for you."

Aoki Dojo would definitely face some troubles in the future, but he believed that the gift he brought would be enough to make up for all their losses.

"A gift?" Akiyama Keisuke was taken aback.

"Well then, farewell, Keisuke-senpai!" Aoki didn't explain, smiled slightly, and his figure disappeared silently.

Akiyama Keisuke stared blankly at the spot where he had been standing, and sighed, "Junior brother Aomura is indeed no ordinary person."

  *Thump, thump, thump.

  * A series of hurried footsteps sounded.

"Keisuke, is Aomura back? What's the situation...?"

Mizuno Kengo quickly walked out of the dojo.

Suddenly, he stopped abruptly, staring in horror at the blood-soaked ground and the headless corpse.

  Dead, dead?

  What happened?

"Master!" Akiyama Keisuke walked towards Mizuno Kengo.

Mizuno Kengo took a deep breath, calming himself slightly: "Keisuke, what exactly happened?"

Akiyama Keisuke briefly recounted what had just happened.

Mizuno Kengo's expression shifted constantly, and after listening, he remained silent for a long time.

  "Where's Aomura?"

"Junior Brother Aomura left directly!" Akiyama Keisuke said.

Mizuno Kengo nodded slightly: "That's for the best, both for him and for us." Akiyama

Keisuke's expression was serious: "Master, this matter will likely cause some trouble later." Two policemen lost arms, two people died, one of whom was a member of a collateral branch of the Fujita family—this was definitely a major incident.

Especially since the murderer was a student of their dojo. Mizuno Kengo, on the other hand,

 seemed relaxed.

"Keisuke, actually, I've always had an idea, and this is the perfect opportunity."   Akiyama Keisuke had already guessed what he was going to say, and a trace of sadness appeared on his face. "Master!"

Mizuno Kengo raised his hand to interrupt him. "These past few days, I've felt increasingly exhausted. If this continues, I fear I'll no longer be able to fulfill my duties as the dojo master. Keisuke, you've already grasped the essence of the Aoki-ryu, and I intend to…"   He suddenly stopped there.

A series of hurried footsteps sounded in the night air, rapidly approaching.

 Someone was coming.

Mizuno Kengo and Akiyama Keisuke both turned to look.

Soon, a figure dressed in court attire rushed out of the darkness, throwing herself into Mizuno Kengo's arms and bursting into tears.

 "Father!"

The cry was filled with grievance, trepidation, joy, and a lingering fear.

Mizuno Kengo froze. After a long while, he slowly raised his hand, but it trembled as it hovered above the girl's shoulder, unable to let go.

He was afraid he wouldn't be able to touch her at all.

He had had similar dreams countless times.

He would wake up every time he tried to touch his daughter.

Even if it was a dream, he wanted to stay in it a little longer.

Akiyama Keisuke was completely stunned, staring blankly at the girl in his master's arms.

Even though he couldn't see her face, even though she was wearing clothes he'd never seen before, he recognized her at a glance—this was the person he dreamed of every night.

Tears streamed down his face, and Akiyama Keisuke's lips trembled, opening and closing several times before he finally uttered the name.

"Myo, Myo, Myo...Myoko, is that you?"

The girl in court attire looked up, turned, and threw herself into Akiyama Keisuke's arms.

"Senior brother! Waaah, I've finally seen you again!"

After the girl left his embrace, Mizuno Kengo finally came to his senses.

 This was reality!

  This wasn't a dream!

 Myoko had really returned!

Before he knew it, tears streamed down Mizuno Kengo's face as he reached out and hugged his daughter and disciple.

The three of them embraced, weeping uncontrollably.
