I stared at her, my jaw dropped, and my eyes widened. No. No, I had to have heard that wrong; she didn't say that! No, no way!
"Uh, sorry, say that again?" I said to her. She tilted her head and leaned down just a little.
"I said, I would marry a girl like you," she said, looking me in the eyes. "fiery, strong, and brave enough to put idiots in their place. Idiot men, especially."
I was too stunned to respond. I just stared at her. There was no way in hell I was this lucky in life to actually end up with someone this pretty who was interested in me.
"I'll see you tomorrow." She said before going into her room. I went into my room and just leaned against the closed door. I was standing there, shock filling my veins, and all I knew was that I was being given a new choice on a silver platter: to start something with the most attractive woman I had ever witnessed in my life. I stood there for what felt like hours, then I changed into sleepwear and settled for the night. But my mind refused to leave me alone for even a moment.
Mano, this woman was out to set my life to a spiral. I can feel it in my bones, and the fact that this is actually happening to me in this new life is absolutely insane! Before this life I would never have even believed myself if I ever heard I wo7ld be in this situation! Heck! If i could tell past me this, I would just think it was a lie and that I was fooling myself in my head. Now, I am stuck laying here, can't sleep because of how hectic my thoughts and feelings are right now. So, I tossed and turned all night, and just trying to figure out what is going on in my head.
Before long, I had been laying there till dawn, and still no idea how to go about anything after yesterday. And now, I have to go find Scarlet and talk to her about what the fuck is going on with my situation.
Getting up and dressed early in the morning, I left before anyone was up, and got to Scarlett's place, and waited outside her family home. Constantly looking around incase Mano was here or if she was coming here. She probably would never come here since she has no reason to come here unless she has business with Scarlet. But last I checked, Scarlet had no idea who Mano is, and I never heard about the trades in the far east. Let alone about Mano. The moment I saw Scarlet, and she locked eyes with me.
"Gia?" She was surprised to see me.
"We need to talk," I told her, making my way over.
"Oh dear, what happened?" she asked while walking with me to class.
"Mano said that she would willingly marry a woman like me!" I told her.
"Wait, what?" Scarlet asked.
"Yeah! And I was so taken aback by it because, like- how does someone that pretty like ME?!" I talked to her with animated motions. Scarlet listened as I talked to her the entire walk to school. She asked questions here and there, and I couldn't stop going on, and on, no matter what I said, Scarlet kept interested, or just indulging me as her friend. soon enough, we reached the school, and we went into the school while talking.
I kept an eye out for Mano. No matter where I looked, I couldn't see her anywhere. I kept walking with her until we reached class. We spoke every so often and caught up with the other two on what happened yesterday with Mono. Soon enough, we had the curriculum results posted on the wall, and... Instead of Scarlet being number one, and me in second place, Julius had taken that spot, and Mano had fourth. I was stiff, and I felt icy rage fill my veins. I remember watching this scene and wanting to punch Julius. He played Scarlet like this. The world around me was muffled and silent. I glared at Julius's name on the board. No matter what happens, I will hate him even when Scarlet punches him in the face later on down the line.
After days of Scarlet's hard work, she perfected everything and got her place back. Yet again, I still felt angry. Julius came in, and I was ready to hit him.
"Don't fall for it, Scarlet. He was aiming for a lower mark." I told her. She went stiff with anger.
"Julius!" I looked to the door, surprised. Mano had walked up to Julius and smacked the back of his head, stunning everyone. "Can you not do this to someone at least once in your days?"
I watched her, frozen in place. Why was Mano here? let alone be so brave as to hit the crown prince. She must have a close relationship with the royal family, let alone with the more preferred prince who will keep the kingdom in better condition, but still an ass hat to my bestie.
"Just having some fun, Mano," he said to Mano. I watched the interaction. No one like her was in the series or manga. I even checked the author's notes and interviews, but there was never any mention of someone like this. Even the first drafts I bought to read never mentioned someone this confident. I was just standing there, confused. Did my reincarnation add to this plot? If so, what else changed since I was brought into this world?
After that, Scarlet and I parted ways and continued on our next few days to make it through school. Scarlet went on dealing with Julius as in the animated series. Meanwhile, I ran into Mano every so often, and it was like she was trying to study me. I had a few days where I froze Julius when he was about to follow Scarlet, and I had created a giant snow owl of ice to fly Scarlet home.
Today, Scarlet was going to the event. I knew Scarlet would be dropped from her engagement. I asked her if the event went south.
"If it goes south, stay up on the high arches of the room, and just watch." She told me. I had ice on my knuckles as sharp spikes. Since Scarlet wants to do this herself, I opened my hand and shattered the ice.
"Alright, but I will be enjoying the show." I smiled, folding my arms, dressed in a fine suit rather than a dress. Going inside, I climbed the wall and sat on a high edge of the wall, using the curtain's rope like a swing seat.
As the confrontation began, I smiled as Scarlet punched that terra person in the face and began to beat everyone below to pieces. An absolutely refreshing sight, seeing so many getting punched. Finally, it ended with Kyle. I slid down and watched from the side, smiling with teeth. Then Leonardo rushed in.
"Wait!" He cried out as he burst in through the door. "I beg you, don't hit him! Scarlet!"
I watched as Scarlet's fist made harsh contact with Kyle's face and sent him crashing into the wall, creating an indented crater. Scarlet cracked her knuckles and smiled her welcoming, beautiful smile.
"I feel much better now." She said with a smile. Julius came in with a laugh. I was going to ignore him until Mano came in; she looked radiant in a dark blue dress with golden trim and a big black bow tied in the back. Her hair was braided together, and she had slight traces of makeup on. She looked too dazzling to look away from. She gave a small laugh, looking around at what Scarlet showed what she could do. Regardless, Leonardo will be very worried about everything. If my rebirth in this world did add individuals, I hope there will be a partner or two to help him. Actually, he's been drinking a new tea recently to help his nerves rather than that drink for the stress cramps. I wonder where he got it. And new devices have been showing up. Wonder what's going on.
