Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: The Shadow of Kali

If I can free you, then I can also keep you bound.

You cannot move without my will. You cannot use your powers.

And if you try… this shock you just felt was only a warning.

Next time, you will turn to ash.

"My only question is this," Siya said coldly.

"If you really are the real one… then was the soul I created truly this evil?"

George answered slowly,

"No… but I was created by you. And yet the goodness you placed in me no longer exists. It died the day you left me alone in the abyss of monsters… to be killed."

Memories struck Siya like lightning.

"I never abandoned you," she said.

"That day I was fighting too. I was so badly wounded that I was unconscious for two months. The first thing I did when I woke up was search for you. You were nowhere. I blamed myself. I thought I was a coward… irresponsible. And when you finally returned, you were the one who pulled me out of my darkness."

His twisted laugh echoed through the chamber.

"That George was not me," he said.

"I never returned. I have been imprisoned here ever since—planning your death every single moment. Through the powers you gave me, I could see everything in your life. You were happy. You were living peacefully… while he wore my face and lived beside you."

Siya screamed,

"Stop! You're insane! You threw away your goodness so easily—just to kill me? Just because I couldn't save you? If I had known you were trapped here, and that the one beside me was a fake, do you think I would have let you rot here?"

George's eyes glowed like blood.

"Everything is already over," he said.

"The goodness inside me… the bond I had with you… it's gone. For your own safety, you should keep me imprisoned. If I am released… you will die."

Siya stared into his corrupted eyes.

"Then who was the one with me?" she asked.

He smiled like a madman, placing a finger on his lips.

"I won't tell you. Find out yourself."

Siya lost control. She grabbed him by the throat.

"Tell me! If you won't answer, you are useless to me. Beings of darkness like you deserve only one fate."

He spoke calmly, almost gently.

"Very well… I will reveal one truth.

That mountain you brought me to… it hides a terrible secret.

The same Sanjeevani that once saved lives… began to take them.

People died one by one—brutally. You could see them with your own eyes, but they could not see you. They begged for help… while others watched them turn into blood-hungry beasts."

Siya stripped him of his powers.

Slowly… she began to give him the same pain those humans had suffered.

Thousands of invisible needles pierced through his body.

Every torment, every agony the victims had endured—she made him feel it.

The others had never seen Siya like this.

She no longer looked human.

She placed her foot on George's chest and roared,

"As you act, so shall you suffer!

You enjoyed the agony of my children, didn't you?

Now you will endure every one of their pains.

You will beg for death—

but I will not grant it."
