Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: I'm not going!

[Kim No-Ah]

"No,Yun-Ra! Don't even think about bringing me to that bastard's concert again!" No-Ah snapped as her best friend shoved a concert ticket into her hands.

"Come on, it'll be so fun together!" Yun-Ra squealed.

Well, this is my best friend, Do Yun-Ra. She's trying to bring me to this naked mole rat's concert again, but I WILL NOT be going!

NOT after what happened last time.

"One last time! I'm not going to do that again, No-Ah. I prooomiseeee~"

☆☆☆

The last concert night.

The stadium was lit with blazing concert lights, the colors spilling across the crowd like waves.

"Tsk. You know I don't like crowded spaces, right?" No-Ah asked Yun-Ra.

But she was too busy buying merch at the counter to even care. She glanced left and right, clutching her haul so tightly her knuckles turned white.

Seriously, I don't understand her. It's like it's a battlefield. No-Ah thought while sighing and rubbing her forehead until it turned red.

No-Ah gave Yun-Ra a gentle but insistent nudge, urging her to hurry.

"Oh no! We're late! The concert is almost starting!" No- Ah squeaked in a high-pitched and dramatic voice, which made Yun-Ra jump.

"What?! Really?" Yun-Ra turned her head to face her. "LET'S GO THEN!" without a second of hesitation, she grabbed No-Ah's arm and dragged her to their seats.

Heh. She didn't even check. So easy. No-Ah thought with a mischievous smirk as she ran beside Yun-Ra.

They stumbled into their seats after a while of running, breaths coming quick and uneven from the run.

"We made it!" Yun-Ra cheered, practically bouncing in her seat.

Suddenly, the lights dimmed. A hush fell over the crowd. As much as a stadium full of screaming fans could hush—and then a single spotlight cut through the darkness.

A figure slowly emerged from under the spotlight. It was a man. Tall and radiant, his presence commanding the stage even before he spoke.

"Ugh. So dramatic." No-Ah muttered under her breath, irritated with the noise of the screaming fans.

The man looked up with a grin that could melt ice. "Are you ready guys? Let's light up this night together!" His voice was bright and cheerful, as clear as crystal, and No-Ah couldn't help but feel annoyed by how perfect it had sounded.

The fans started roaring in unison. "KEI! KEI! KEI...." the noise rattled through No-Ah's chest, and she couldn't hide the grin spreading across her face despite herself.

So his name's Kei. She thought to herself, her chin coming to rest on her fingers. The smile slowly curving into a full-blown smirk. Even she herself didn't know why she was smiling so hard.

Yun-Ra nudged her with her elbow playfully. "Look who's smiling now. Don't get lost in the crowd!"

"Tsk. I'm only enjoying the view! And I'm a grown woman, you don't need to worry!" No-Ah replied. "Plus, chaos is already my best friend."

"Sing along with me, boys and girls! 1, 2, 3!"

Kei's voice rang across the stadium, bright and full of energy.

My god, it was the most angelic sound she had ever heard.

"..." speechless.

After the concert.

Yun-Ra was rummaging through her bag until she pulled out a letter.

No-Ah watched as Yun-Ra held out the letter to her.

"My dear very beautiful, very smart, very cute No-Ah~" As soon as No-Ah heard that, she knew that Yun-Ra had an annoyingly elaborate favor brewing.

"Can you pleeaaasee help me give this letter to K-?"

She cut her off mid-sentence, and answered a simple:

"No, Yun-Ra."

Never in my whole entire life I would do that! No-Ah thought to herself.

"I'll treat you to your favorite place~" Yun-Ra purred, batting her eyelashes like she thought it would work.

"..., and?" No-Ah raised an eyebrow, she wasn't going to let go so easily.

Yun-Ra hesitated. "... and I'll buy you those ₩300,000 shoes that you were eyeing...?"

No-Ah's eye lit up at that one sentence. "DEAL!" Before Yun-Ra could react, No-Ah snatched the letter and darted straight toward security, a grin stretching across her face.

"This is a letter from my friend. She wants to give it to… Kei."

"Which friend?" the guard asked calmly.

No-Ah turned and pointed toward their seats. "That one—"

She froze.

Hang on.

Where did she go?

WHERE THE FUCK DID THAT DUMBASS GO?

No-Ah's stomach dropped. She scanned the rows frantically, but Yun-Ra was nowhere in sight.

"W-Wait! She was just there!" No-Ah stammered. "I-I'll call her—"

Before she could pull out her phone, the guard took the letter from her hand.

The guard glanced at the letter, then back at her.

"So… you're the one who wants to give it?"

"No! I mean— yes— I mean— it's not mine!"

Too late. The guard had already left to give the letter to Kei.

No...

No...

THIS IS NOT HAPPENING!

Who knows what content is in that letter? What if that Kei thinks I'm a creep?

After a while of just standing there looking dumbfounded, No-Ah trudged back gloomily and collapsed onto their seats.

Yun-Ra returned after a few minutes. "Did you give that letter to Ke-...?"

No-Ah's face was pitch black. The aura around her felt like a thunderstorm about to break.

Yun-Ra swallowed. "…I'll take that as a yes?"

And what happened to Yun-Ra after that?

Well.

Let's just say the stadium wasn't the only place that night where something exploded.
