"Here..." Lucian said, holding out a foil-wrapped sandwich and held it up triumphantly, his eyes lighting up as if it was a prize.
"You can have it, although it's my breakfast. I already ate one on the way here." Lucian said, walking closer to Rowan's desk.
Rowan looked down at the aluminum foil-wrapped object with barely concealed horror, his whole face scrunching up.
He had never seen anything like this before. Food at his house came on porcelain plates. Even food at restaurants the Donovans visited, came with proper presentation. Food did not come wrapped in foil.
"What... what even is that?" Rowan asked, his nose wrinkling.
"Baconeggandcheese," Lucian said, as if it was one word. "From the bodega on 5th. Best breakfast in the city."
He started unwrapping it, and the smell of bacon, melted cheese, and grilled bread filled the office.
"I can't eat that," Rowan said immediately, leaning back in his chair as if the sandwich might attack him.
