Zac walked through the door, his horns hitting the top of the doorframe, so he bent down slightly to get through.
Sitting down, he shook the imp's hand.
"Greetings. I'm Blitzo the 'o' is silent."
Letting go of Blitz's hand, Zac replied, "Hello, I'm Zac. Nice to meet you, Blitz."
Blitz leaned back. "So, why do you want to work here?"
Zac took a moment to think. "Mainly because you're not too far from home, and I like what you're doing here. Instead of following the usual imp roles like servants and stuff you're selling revenge. It sounds like the most interesting job I could get around here."
Blitz contemplated his words. "Okay then. Why should we hire you?"
Zac thought for a second. "I don't mind getting paid three-quarters of what the other employees make. Also, let me show you something."
Zac stretched out his hand, causing the void to bend around his palm, condensing into a tiny black hole. Before it could do any damage, he dispersed it.
"So," Zac said, "what do you say, Blitz? Do you want me on your team?"
Blitz stared at him for a moment before furiously shaking his hand. "Holy shit yes! But you'll only get half pay because of budgeting."
Zac shook his hand firmly. "Sure, I don't mind."
Blitz grinned. "Great. You start tomorrow. In the meantime, get to know the rest of the team."
Zac stood and followed Blitz into the meeting room.
"Alright, everyone," Blitz announced. "This is Zac. Zac, this is Loona my beloved daughter."
Zac watched as Blitz jumped onto Loona and hugged her.
"Ugh, Blitz, get off me!" Loona snapped, pushing him away.
Millie waved. "Well, hey Zac! Good to see a new face joining the team."
Moxxie waved as well. "Welcome to the family," he said in a mob boss voice before switching back to his normal tone. "Uh, boss… how can we afford another employee?"
Blitz replied, "Because he's strong and more importantly, smooth-brained. He doesn't care about getting paid as much as you do. You should strive to be more like him."
Zac waved awkwardly. "Well, it's nice meeting all of you."
He stretched his wings, causing the star-like patterns to glow with a dim black light before folding them back against his spine. He then sat down in the chair next to Loona, his tail curling around the base.
Blitz clapped his hands. "Alright, get to know each other. I'm going to spend some quality time with Stolas, so catch you bitches later."
Millie turned to Zac. "So, what's the deal with you?"
Zac tilted his head. "Oh, I'm a dragon sinner. What do you want to know?"
Loona perked up, looking up from her phone. "Do you have a bigger form? Like some of the other sinners like the Radio Demon?"
Everyone waited for his answer.
Zac considered how much he wanted to reveal. "I do, but it's too big to show here. If you want to see it, I can show you at my place."
"Sure, sounds cool," Loona said immediately.
Millie and Moxxie exchanged a look before Moxxie spoke for them. "Yeah, let's go."
"Alright, just give me a second," Zac said, focusing. A swirling portal edged with black void formed in the air.
Zac walked through it.
"Holy shit," the other three said in unison as they followed.
Zac closed the portal once everyone was through. "Welcome to my humble home."
Loona glanced around. "You know, I thought it'd be more luxurious like piles of gold and gems. This is kind of plain but also looks kind of comfy."
"I've only been in Hell for a couple of days," Zac replied, stretching. "I haven't had time to collect that stuff yet." They all looked at him with new found curiosity.
As he finished speaking, Zac transformed into his true form.
A sphere of void enveloped him, forming a black hole that didn't damage anything in his nest. Just as quickly as it appeared, it vanished revealing an imposing dragon, wings spread wide, their tips brushing the walls.
Folding his wings back in, Zac sighed. "Ah… that's much better. It feels good to stretch and be your true self."
Zac moved onto his blanket-and-carpet nest, lowering his head to the floor to look at them. All three stared at him in awe.
Loona was the first to speak, her cheeks slightly flushed. "Damn… you're something. Not sure what yet."
Millie followed, and then Moxxie blurted out, "Can we touch you? wait, that sounded weird. I mean, can we feel your scales? Fuck, you know what I mean!"
Zac let out a low chuckle. "Sure. I don't mind. It might seem crazy, but I trust you all."
Millie looked at Moxxie with a questioning expression. "Hon, why do you want to feel Zac's scales?"
Moxxie answered like it was obvious. "When in Hell will you ever get the chance to touch a dragon scales?"
Millie looked at Loona. "Fair enough. That's a pretty good argument, hon."
Loona nodded in agreement.
They moved closer, cautiously at first, running their hands along Zac's forearm. "They're surprisingly smooth… and warm."
Loona was the first to sit against his side, clearly finding it comfortable. She leaned her head against him.
"If you all want to stay the night, you can," Zac rumbled softly. "I don't mind."
Moxxie and Millie who moments ago had been rubbing their faces against his scales looked up at him.
"We'd love to," Millie said, "but we already have plans tonight. Maybe another time."
"Yeah," Moxxie added. "Thanks, though."
"So, we'll be heading out," Millie said as they made their way to the exit.
Loona stayed behind, looking up into Zac's golden, slit-pupiled eyes. "I'd like to stay, if you don't mind. I don't really have a way home Blitz is… busy with Stolas."
Zac thought for a moment. "Sure. I did offer."
Loona gave a shy smile. "Thanks."
Zac tried to smile back, but it came out goofy, making Loona laugh. "Hold that face I need to take a photo."
"Sure," Zac replied.
Loona stood up, snapped a picture, and grinned. "This is gold. Thanks, Zac."
Zac nodded and yawned, resting his head down.
Loona grabbed a pillow and placed it against his side before lying down beside him. Zac curled his tail around them, forming a loose enclosure.
"Night, Loona," Zac rumbled as he drifted off.
"Night, Zac," Loona whispered, falling asleep soon after.
