A certain snake sinner was laughing maniacally.
"No sinner dares stop my conquest!" Sir Pentious declared.
The blimp continued firing its cannons and lasers, destroying large sections of the surrounding neighborhood. Zac ducked as a stray beam narrowly missed him, exploding behind him and launching him forward.
Just before his face met the paved road, Zac dragged his tail across the ground, pivoting his momentum and sending himself rolling. He tucked his wings flat against his back to keep them from being damaged.
Finally coming to a stop, Zac snorted and pushed himself up from the ground. He oriented himself and looked up at the blimp, now hovering roughly a hundred meters away. His breathing grew heavy as a primal rage settled in his chest.
Zac picked up a rock, his arm shifting as he pulled back and hurled it toward the blimp. The rock soared and moments later, the sound of shattering glass reached Zac's heightened senses.
"Oh shit, where did that come from?" Sir Pentious shouted in shock.
"Boss! I think it came from that scaly man down there!" one of the egg creatures yelled, pointing at Zac, who stood perfectly still.
Zac watched with grim satisfaction as the front of the blimp erupted in a red explosion. The airship spiralled downward, smashing into an office building before crashing into the street in a heap of twisted metal.
From the wreckage, Sir Pentious slithered out, his egg minions scrambling to pull him free. Zac noticed that the snake demon appeared covered in eyes from his ruffled hat all the way down his serpentine body.
Another figure arrived, climbing down from the top of the wreckage. The woman had a single massive eye with an X-shaped pupil and pale, almost ashy-white skin.
"How do you like that, old man?" she shouted. "Why don't you get your toys off my turf!"
Without warning, she lobbed a bomb at Sir Pentious. It detonated in a violent explosion, destroying several egg creatures who threw themselves in front of their master.
In retaliation, Sir Pentious pulled a steampunk-looking assault rifle from the rubble and opened fire at the cyclops woman.
She barely ducked in time, then responded by throwing another bomb.
Elsewhere in Pentagram City, 666
"Good afternoon, Pentagram City. I'm Katie Killjoy."
"And I'm Tom Trench, coming to you live from the west side of Pentagram City," Tom announced through his gas mask, his voice muffled. "A turf war has broken out between mad engineer Sir Pentious and explosive expert Cherri Bomb."
Katie continued, "After the recent extermination, new territories are up for grabs as demons fight to claim their ground."
Back on the battlefield, Zac watched as the one-eyed woman clashed with Sir Pentious and his army of egg minions.
Suddenly, a spider demon crawled out from behind a pile of rubble, sprinting forward while ducking through gunfire. He returned fire with twin tommy guns, taking out several egg minions. Zac got a clearer look at him pale white fur accented with pink spots.
The spider demon joined Cherri Bomb in the fight against Sir Pentious and his forces. Zac overheard them shouting to each other and caught the spider demon's name Angel Dust.
As Cherri hurled bombs and fired an RPG, Sir Pentious fired back with a steampunk laser rifle. One of the egg creatures hoisted a gold-and-black rocket launcher, firing a steampunk missile that soared overhead before slamming into the street and erupting into a massive cloud of red smoke and dust.
Zac watched the two-sided battle unfold, deciding it was time to interveneif he wanted this territory, he'd have to take it.
As the dust cleared, the bank building lay reduced to rubble. Angel Dust pulled out dual tommy guns and began unloading, mowing down multiple egg creatures, while Cherri continued blowing the poor things apart.
Sir Pentious suddenly lashed out, grabbing Angel with a chain and slamming him into the ground.
"Harder, daddy," Angel said.
Zac grimaced.
"Son?" Pentious replied, eyes wide.
"NO!" Angel snapped, rolling his eyes.
Before Pentious could react, Cherri flying-kicked him, forcing him to drop the chains.
Zac decided this was as good a moment as any to step in.
Why drag it out? Might as well make an entrance.
Zac shifted into his true form, transforming into the imposing figure of Safi'jiiva immediately capturing everyone's attention.
All eyes turned toward him, waiting to see what he would do next.
