Andrew quickly straightened his posture and smiled politely. "My name is Andrew. I'm the leader of the maintenance team. Don't worry, I'm not a bad person. Let me help you with that."
He smiled warmly, eyes filled with calculation, already wondering what kind of opportunity this sudden encounter might bring.
Although the man looked presentable on the surface, his gaze was far too obvious. His eyes lingered where they shouldn't, sweeping over her chest without the slightest restraint. Mary had seen far too many men like this during the apocalypse. When beauties were involved, such people could abandon parents, spouses, children, even their own humanity, without hesitation.
She shook her head calmly. "No need, thank you. It's not far."
Her tone was polite but distant, a clear line drawn.
Andrew caught the hint. When he noticed that Mary had only spared him a brief glance, he withdrew his gaze and smiled faintly. Being rejected so cleanly the first time only made him more curious.
