Chapter 7 - Chapter 6: A Feeling I Can’t Ignore

Jayjay's POV

After Adrian finished introducing the girl, I barely had time to breathe before Ci-n slid next to me like a bad thought.

"See? See?" he whispered, eyes shining like he just won a lottery.

"I told you. She'll come and park in your life."

Park?

Why does he always say park like people are cars?

Then he added, grinning wider, "Sienna Park is about to park… and take your man for a long, far drive away."

My brain froze.

Excuse me?

Take WHO?

Drive WHERE?

Before I could snap back, something hit Ci-n.

Thud.

He squeaked.

Kiefer.

An empty juice box bounced off Ci-n's head, and when I looked up, Kiefer's glare could've ended wars. Ci-n didn't even argue—he immediately ran to hide behind David like a scared kitten.

I swallowed and looked back at Sienna.

Okay, Jayjay. Relax.

She's just standing there.

Standing.

Breathing.

Existing near your boyfriend—why is she existing near your boyfriend?

Kiefer had already turned away, casually talking with Honey like nothing happened. Around us, the group started chatting again.

"Lesson was boring."

"No, it was fun."

"I almost slept."

Meanwhile, my brain was screaming.

Why is she on the same row?

Why does she keep glancing this way?

Why do I suddenly feel like I'm in a drama?

Ci-n's voice cut in again.

"When are they going to make me touch a plane?" he complained. "This talk is too much."

Yuri walked over then, eyes soft but serious.

"You okay?" he asked me.

I nodded quickly. "Yeah. Totally. Very okay."

Liar.

Yuri didn't look convinced. "I have a bad feeling."

He lowered his voice. "Even Ci-n feels it. Be careful."

That did not help.

Great. Now it's not just me overthinking.

It's a group activity.

We talked for a while—random stuff, nothing important—but my eyes kept drifting back to Sienna. Every time I caught myself staring, I forced my gaze away.

Stop.

You're being dramatic.

You trust Kiefer.

Right?

…Right?

After a bit, Yuri tapped my arm. "Come with me for a sec."

"Why?" I asked.

"Just come."

I followed him, my mind already making ten different scenarios. We stopped a little far from the group.

"So?" I asked.

Yuri tilted his head. "What's next Friday's date?"

I blinked. Random?

I started counting in my head.

"May 4th," he said.

It clicked.

"My anniversary with Kiefer."

Yuri nodded. "Yeah. So what are your plans?"

I froze.

Plans?

PLANS?

I didn't even plan what to eat tomorrow.

I stood there for a few seconds, then smiled confidently—fake it till you make it.

"Leave that to me."

The bell rang.

"Break's over," Yuri said.

We headed back. Just as we were about to leave, Kiefer reached out and grabbed my hand.

I looked at him. "What?"

He leaned closer, voice low. "No goodbye kiss? Just a peck."

Instantly, the whole squad reacted.

"OHHHH."

"PECK ONLY?"

"LIAR."

I rolled my eyes. "Bend a little."

He did.

I leaned in, aiming for a quick peck—

And he turned his head.

The peck turned into a kiss.

EXCUSE YOU?

The boys went wild.

Ci-n was the loudest. "HE TURNED—HE TURNED!"

Ciel nearly choked laughing.

"That's your last one today," I warned Kiefer, my face burning.

I spun around and ran, smiling so hard, blushing so much, I almost tripped on my way out.

Great.

Now my heart is racing.

My brain is confused.

And Sienna Park just entered my life.

Wonderful.
