"Who might what?" a new voice interrupted. Elder River, one of the Silver Moon pack elders, stood near the back of the room. "Who might be his mate?"
The hall went silent.
"What did you say?" Damon asked, his voice dangerously quiet.
"I've been thinking about this since you told us about the restaurant attack," River continued, moving forward slowly. His ancient eyes moved between Damon and Nicklaus. "About the vampire lord who appeared there. About how he didn't attack Rowan but seemed interested in him. About how he specifically chose to intervene."
"Get to the point," Nicklaus said.
