Chapter Sixty-Four – Paranormal Realm 62
I knew I was pregnant. Doctor Hale had confirmed it, my body had confirmed it dramatically in a bathroom while I fainted, the entire Council of Elders had acknowledged it formally. But I didn't feel pregnant, not in any way I could point to. I felt like myself. Tired sometimes. Hungrier than usual. Occasionally aware of a low, warm feeling in the center of me that Nyphrin had told me was the bond and the pregnancy talking to each other, whatever that meant.
Then week two arrived and apparently decided to make itself known.
It started with the smell of someone's coffee in the hallway at seven in the morning. I had been fine with coffee. I had been drinking it since I was sixteen and I had no quarrel with it. But on Tuesday of the second week I walked past the kitchen, caught the scent of it from outside the door, and had to make a very quick and undignified decision about where I was going next.
I made it to the bathroom.
