"Let's focus on how to gain your mates' trust, your majesty. We need to act quickly," Sunny said urgently as they walked through the hallway. Megan rolled her eyes. "I want to learn about my power…"
"I know, but the most important thing is mating with your mates. If they don't mate with you before the next moon," Sunny swallowed, "I don't know what will happen to them. Their bodies are too weak to shift."
"What about me? What if the dark queen…"
"The first step is mating with them. Your power activates through anger, that's the toughest way. You need to be more emotional and must be in love."
"What?" Megan stopped walking and looked at her in confusion.
"Yes, your majesty, we.." Sunny quickly shook her head. "You can't understand. Let's focus on making amendments with your mates. Come on, let's go."
"Where are you going?" someone said from behind.
Megan scoffed as she turned. "Oh, you're the same girl who spilt hot tea on me."
"Chloe, we aren't in the mood to argue," Sunny grunted.
"You are taking the witch's side, Sunny."
"What is your business?" Sunny frowned. She had noticed something was off about her but couldn't figure it out. She looked suspicious, especially after framing Megan. Sunny already understood what was going on, she was targeting Megan for a reason.
Megan was the chosen one and would attract a lot of enemies, especially those who wanted the downfall of the twin Alphas. Without her, they were nothing. She was their strength for now and would later become their weakness. The kind of treasure they would protect with everything they had. Her job was to protect Megan.
"My business is protecting our Alpha from another betrayal," she sneered. Megan scoffed. "She's annoying."
Sunny was about to speak but paused. Let Chloe confront her for good reason.
"Are you speaking to me? I don't believe the Moon Goddess would choose you! It was your fellow witches that lied about your so-called prophecy ahhh!" She suddenly screamed as spiders, scorpions, and other insects crawled toward her at full speed.
"Ahhh! What is this? Let it go now, witch!" The insects were already in her clothes, almost covering her face.
Sunny chuckled and tapped Megan. "Served her right. Okay, let it go."
Chloe's screams echoed through the corridor. It was strange, no one was there. Sunny's smile faded when she realised Megan didn't stop the insects. She looked at her and froze when she saw a deadly smirk on Megan's lips, black blood dripping from the corner of her left eye.
Out of fear, she quickly placed her hands on Megan's shoulders and yelled, "Megan!" shaking her.
Megan snapped out of it and looked around in shock at the pale spiders, rats, scorpions, and more. The person beneath them made no sound.
"You… you can't control your power?" Sunny asked, afraid but forcing a calm face. She focused and controlled the situation, and the rats and insects began to leave.
They both froze when they saw only bones left behind. The insects had eaten her skin.
"My gosh… not only does your power manifest through anger, but it also pulls your dark side along. If it takes over, there's a high possibility you'll become like Athena…"
"Really?" someone replied. They frowned and turned, only to see Chloe staring at them in amusement. Megan quickly looked back at the skeleton, it was still there. She stared at Chloe in confusion. How was this possible for a werewolf to wait… unless she's…
"I knew it from the moment I saw you. You aren't a werewolf, Chloe, but a witch," Megan scoffed.
"What are you planning to do, Sunny?"
"Stay out of my business. I know you're here for your princess. Let me do my job and I won't hurt her."
Megan looked confused. Their princess? What was she talking about? She was about to ask when Sunny winked at her. Chloe's expression relaxed slightly.
"If you'll excuse us," Sunny said and dragged Megan away. "That's the Dark Queen's servant. If I hadn't said that, she might have attacked already. We need to speed things up. Your mate needs to know a dark witch is in his palace." She paused and frowned. "I think Alpha Sebastian's palace will merge with this one, since he and his brother share one mate."
"Let's take it step by step…" Megan said nervously.
"We can't," Sunny replied, scanning their surroundings. "You don't know what happened before the war. The Demon King kidnapped many werewolves and turned them into savage beasts that only obey him."
Megan sighed and nodded. "I heard about that… are they still doing it?"
"Yes. That maid isn't simple. Look at her face. Let's focus on showing them what you can do," Sunny chuckled as they reached the throne hall door.
"Are you ready?" Sunny asked. Megan took a deep breath. "I don't know."
She was about to speak when a sudden chill swept through the air. Several werewolf armies marched toward them. Both Sunny and Megan were flung away by an invisible force, landing heavily on the floor.
Megan looked up, frowning. Her eyes darkened the moment she saw Ezekiel entering the throne hall.
She tried hard to attack him, imagining a huge python appearing and strangling his neck, but nothing happened.
"Why can't I attack him?!" she yelled in frustration.
Sunny chuckled, dusting her gown. "Do you really want to hurt your mate?" she teased.
"That's bullshit! He didn't think about that when he shoved us like paper!" Megan snapped, moving closer. "I don't think he's as weak as you think. Look at how effortlessly he threw us from meters away…"
"He's furious and hates it when anyone stands in his way," Sunny said, then looked at a group entering with complicated expressions. "Ahh… now I understand. He wants to deal with the vampire lord."
"Vampire lord?"
"Yes. He was supposed to be there when you woke them," Sunny nodded. "Come, let's see if you can handle Ezekiel's wrath. The vampire lord seriously offended him, and he's here to deal with it," she giggled. "So come on."
Megan swallowed nervously and followed her into the throne hall.
They met a tall, lean man standing before Ezekiel's throne, Ezekiel looking down at him coldly. "Speak."
Megan looked at Ezekiel and sighed softly. "How am I supposed to tame him?"
