" I'm serious here…"
" This is our territory," Simon said coldly.
" Don't think you are free just because our Alpha wasn't destined to kill you. We won't forget how you betrayed him!"
Athena smirked. " You think I don't know your Alpha is weak?" She shrugged. " I knew the reason why you kept that girl in your pack." Then she glanced at Gabriel. The reason she hadn't attacked them was because of him, and Simon and Joshua were wearing protection rings. She couldn't deal with them for now because she was also weak and needed some rituals to regain herself. After that, a serious game would begin with the chosen one.
Simon ignored her and continued drinking his wine quickly. Athena wished to know what was going on in the man's head.
" What is it that you want to tell me?" Gabriel raised a brow. Athena glanced at Joshua and Simon, and he understood. " Fine! We will leave! But I can't wait to see you pay for what you did!" Joshua pointed at her.
Athena rolled her eyes. " Your Alpha should be the one to get ready, his downfall is near…"
" Watch your tongue," Gabriel frowned.
Athena raised a brow. " Of course, you are all calm because you don't know what is coming. That Ophelia's daughter's existence was a great curse…"
" Why are you here?" He quickly caught her in.
Athena scoffed. " I knew you didn't tell me the full prophecy. Why would you tell the Werewolves everything? The witches owned the prophecies, not them."
" I don't understand. Didn't I tell you the full prophecy?" he asked in confusion, wondering what exactly she wanted to know.
" No…" she looked restless and hurried. " Gabriel, remember you weren't meant to side with the Werewolves. The witches owned you. I needed to know every detail about this prophecy before it's too late. I'm running out of time, and you knew I wasn't the only one in this situation. The power he possessed was eating him because the owner wanted it back," she whispered.
Gabriel's face changed. " What are you talking about, Athena? You think I would believe you?"
" Cut the crap. I knew you were pretending not to know the twins' source of power. They were pure-blood Werewolves, and those powers they possessed were by mistake… not theirs…."
" Who were you working with apart from the Demon King?" He looked at her in disbelief. They both stared at each other for a while, and in the next moment, black smoke entered from every hole, through both windows and door entrances. Gabriel understood this familiar situation and looked at Athena in horror. " You… he's back?"
" I'm sorry, Gabriel. I was too hungry for power. Megan shouldn't mate with her mates," she smirked as the darkness charged toward him. " Megan, daughter of Ophelia… my next target…"
Athena teleported back to her palace.
" Welcome, Your Highness," Vincent said. " What was the next plan?" he added.
" Megan…"
He chuckled and nodded happily. " Oh, the chosen one…"
" Shut up. I didn't believe she would be more powerful than me."
The other black witches exchanged looks. " What is she talking about?" one of them whispered.
" Didn't she know the chosen ones were always the most powerful until the next chosen one was born?"
" Enough!" Athena roared. " Just watch me kill her like a puppy. I was only waiting for orders from above!" she snorted.
" Our next plan was how to stop her from mating with her mates!" she added. The rest nodded in agreement. She was right. Their goal was to take away the new Dark Queen because her existence was a threat to their queen.
Vincent smirked. " Rest assured, my queen. Chole said the Werewolves hated her."
The rest burst into laughter. " So, Your Majesty, how was it possible to mate with someone you didn't like?"
" We all knew how arrogant Ezekiel was. Very picky and stubborn. He wouldn't kiss, talk less of touching her," one of them said.
" I agreed," another old dark witch spoke. " He barely trusted people, not even when you successfully betrayed him, hehehe."
The rest laughed with her. Athena sat on her throne, smiling at what they said.
Vincent cleared his throat to get their attention. "As I said, our girl Chole, who was working as a maid in their Alpha palace, would continue to drive them apart and make her look bad in front of those Alphas, so they could reject her and chase her away, right?" he looked at the rest.
" Of course," they all nodded immediately. " If we managed to get her out of that palace, we would get her and then take her to the queen," another person suggested.
" I accepted," Athena chuckled.
" We needed to act fast because the White Witches were dying to know their source of power… that was why Ophelia let her wake them."
Athena's eyes narrowed. " Those White Witches were up to something…" she murmured.
" Exactly. Why did they want to know their power? We all knew they weren't normal Alphas… they must have known you found out!"
The rest gasped and started whispering among themselves. " Your Majesty, I hoped you didn't leave any evidence about what you saw when you fought Ezekiel?"
Athena looked at him in a daze for a moment and suddenly hit her forehead. " Ahhh! The book!" she whispered.
" What book, Your Majesty?" Vincent asked in confusion. Athena quickly stood up and dashed toward her secret library. " You wouldn't understand. I wrote it because I was trying to investigate Ezekiel's power."
" So what?" Vincent, who followed her behind, asked nervously.
" It was the telekinesis I experienced that day. He could move anything without even stretching his hands or using a wand!" she grunted. " Sebastian was intentionally hiding his own ability, and that was the problem! We confirmed he also possessed something like Ezekiel, but he was hiding it!"
" How was that even possible? Unless they…" He paused, looking surprised. " I hoped it wasn't what I was thinking."
Athena sighed and stopped the moment she reached a huge wall. " Exactly what you were thinking. He found me before the war and… we exchanged a deal."
She removed her twelve-inch black wand and pointed it at the wall. " Anoichtó!!" she yelled.
The wall slowly moved to one side, revealing shelves filled with thousands of books.
" Wow…" Vincent was amused. He entered the library in disbelief. " What was the deal?"
" He wanted his property back, of course, and it was with Ezekiel," she sighed as she moved toward where she kept the book. " That was why you needed to tell Chole to act fast. Only then would we be able to get both parties. They were all weak. This was our chance," she murmured.
She frowned when she saw an empty space in the middle of the bookshelf. " Where is my book?"
