"M-Morgan! Not in public please!"
Morgan tugged on the leash around his neck while walking him around the dark park. Bystanders looked at him with disgust, which only served to make him har-
Suddenly he jolted up from his bed in a cold sweat... it had all been a drea- a nightmare.. it had all been a nightmare..
Something was extremely wrong with him. It had been some weeks since the conversation about his trust issues with Morgan, which is another thing he had an issue with.
Why was he so compelled to tell her everything? He wasn't acting like he normally would or how he should act.
Perhaps he just needed to vent to someone, but why would he vent to Morgan when many other options were available?
Well he obviously wasn't going to get an answer from just sitting around, so he made a call he's been dreading to make.
A call with the person who sometimes knew him better than he knew himself.
A call with Cassie.
---
He would say good morning to Morgan, but that would just get his thoughts all jumbled up once more.
Him and Cassie decided to meet at the same place that she told him she saw the future of them dying. He felt a bit guilty calling her randomly after not speaking for a good bit, so he ended up bringing her a gift.
He saw her sitting on the grass under a tree. He couldn't tell if she was sleeping, but when he shoved the bouquet of flowers in her face she seemed to wake up.
"You know giving someone flowers while having a fiance-"
"She's not my fiance. Wait how did you even know about Morgan in the first place?"
A rare nervous smile appeared on her face as she spoke.
"Uh, well Kai isn't the best at keeping secrets you see."
After he set him up with a girl and all.. that bastard was going to pay later on, he just didn't know how yet.
He almost forgot why he came here for a second, but the tricky part is how should he explain it.
"No need to explain, I already know why you came here."
Creepy.. but that also saved him the awkwardness.
"I dont think you should engage in sexual relations with Morgan so earl-"
"Do you want to die?"
She really did know how to get under his skin. So embarrassed and ashamed, he explained everything. From the meeting at the academy to the conversation he came here to talk about and everything after that.
"Ah, I think I get it now, this is your first ever experience with a romantic relationship right?"
"It's not romantic."
She looked at him. It was one of those rare moments that she wasn't wearing a blindfold, so he could see her eyes squint at him despite not being able to see at all.
"Fine then, let's say hypothetically someone who doesn't know what a relationship is automatically defaults to the building blocks.. those being trust and in your case spilling everything."
He scratched his head, sitting down on the other side of the tree, letting the shade cool him down.
"I'll have to disagree with you on that one, because I have no intention of keeping a relationship with Morgan after getting these five months over with."
She paused for a bit before saying something that made him want to throw her into the sky below.
"Could it be you're already in love?"
He also thought of that possibility, but his heart simply didn't beat when he was around her. Sure he did have some physical things happen when they talk, but it's different than the signs of love that he knows.
"And how would you know what love is like? You've never been in love."
How did she know what he was thinking..? She really was creepy.
"I totally have! I love credits, food, memories, and more!"
She sighed. He could actually hear her hand hitting her face, which kind of annoyed him.
"At this point you'll have to figure this out yourself.. go fall in love with Kai or something."
"I already did that."
"Huh?"
"Huh?"
...
"That was a joke."
...
"I think you should go.."
...
"Maybe that's for the best."

Morgan sipped her tea, placing it back down on the table. Madoc carefully studied the file she had given him.
"I refuse."
She stood up, pushing her chair back in as she did.
"Then our meeting here is over, there's no need for you to send suitors any more. I'll refuse them all."
Madoc let out a heavy sigh as he stared at the back of Morgan, who was walking away.
"Why are you being so stubborn? This isn't like you."
She gave pause for a second before turning her head back around to look at him.
"I'm an extremely lonely person, by choice and due to my flaw. Yet I realized while I do desire to be lonely, I want someone to be alone with."
She smiled, a smile that Madoc hasn't ever seen on her face. For the first time he saw a simple mundane smile on her face, not one exuding confidence.
"I wished for my future husband to be as lonely as me, yet now I've met someone who's possibly even lonelier than me."
From birth she was alone, her fate from the start was to be alone. That's why Morgan never had a good impression of fate. Yet to meet someone who was just as lonely, and if not more than her, all while being possibly immune to her flaw.. what could that be but fate?
"Three months. If this little game you have him with doesn't reach a conclusion in those three months, then you'll end this farce."
That was plenty for her.

Coming back to an empty house after having someone in it all the time was weird. First Effie had stayed with him and now he has Morgan.
At first he thought she had given up on him and ended up leaving, but she had left a note saying she would be back on the counter.
Perhaps it was out of consideration to him or maybe even..
Shaking his head, he went to the bathroom, turning on the shower. Grabbing a rag and towel, he stepped in, letting the cold water clear his mind before the water began to warm up, relaxing his muscles which had tensed up.
The water felt like tiny buns running down his skin. He thought of Morgan before putting his hand on his chest.
His heart stayed the same.
He sighed. Maybe it was one of relief, but he knew that he wasn't in love with her. What he did know though was that he didn't dislike her either. He was self aware enough to know he enjoyed her company. Maybe it was because he was so desperate for someone to trust or perhaps it was due to the fact it was the first time he had been offered to trust someone rather than that trust coming naturally.
Eventually his shower ended and he began to clean up the house, including Morgan's clothes which were thrown around the house. For royalty she truly had no class or decorum.
He ate leftovers, brushed his teeth, and went to his bed.
The final thoughts he had before drifting to sleep was how lonely it felt to have him be the only one in this house.
His eyes fluttered open. It was still dark outside. A rustle in his sheets had woken him up. He turned his head only to see Morgan laying on his bed, smiling at him.
He raised his foot and kicked her off the bed.
