Chapter 56: The Mosasaur Destroys the Warship
"Boom!"
The crimson slash crashed straight into the Raptorex, detonating with a thunderous explosion. The ship shook violently and lurched backward.
"Roar!"
The Raptorex howled in pain as its body suddenly reverted to its original form—a massive dinosaur towering at the ship's bow, roaring furiously.
A deep gash ran clear across its body, the wound several centimeters deep and bleeding profusely. Yet the torn flesh was already closing before the naked eye.
"Mosasaur, ram that warship!"
Jiang Qize barked coldly.
He hadn't expected that warship to harbor a swordsman—no, a Great Swordsman-level powerhouse. He'd almost been sunk in the gutter by that slash.
Had the strike landed, this ship would've been finished.
"Roar!"
Sensing its master's fury, the Mosasaur bellowed from beneath the waves.
With a powerful flick of its tail, its massive form dove underwater, surging straight toward the warship.
After a period of adaptation and development, its speed enhancement had reached fifteenfold. In the sea, the Mosasaur was like a colossal torpedo—charging through the water so fast it appeared only as a gray blur.
On the warship, Gion sheathed her blade after delivering that strike.
Such was her confidence—she was one of the few swordswomen in the Navy recognized as a true master. Barely twenty years old, yet already stronger than most.
If she couldn't handle a pirate with only a sixty-million bounty, she might as well go home and feed pigs.
But when she saw the two slashes the Raptorex had unleashed in response, her beautiful eyes narrowed slightly.
"An ability user…"
He had actually withstood one of her slashes. A faint blush crept across her face—part shame, part anger. It felt like a slap to her pride.
Suddenly, her eyes snapped open sharply. In an instant, she drew Konpira, sending a terrifying slash down into the sea.
"Boom!"
The seawater split apart.
Then—BOOM!!
A violent tremor rocked the warship, followed by a deafening explosion.
The entire vessel lifted off the surface, groaning and cracking as a gaping hole burst open in its underside.
"Ahhh!"
"Help!"
Navy soldiers were hurled into the air, screaming in panic.
Some officers managed to step onto the air using Geppo, grim-faced as they steadied themselves midair.
Gion's long, pale legs stepped lightly upon the air as well, her body poised and steady, her expression dark enough to drip water.
Her cold, alluring eyes peered into the sea below, where a massive gray shadow moved swiftly.
Even with her sharp vision, she could only make out its blurred outline.
"Rumble…"
The warship crashed back into the sea with an earth-shaking boom. A gigantic wave exploded upward, spraying dozens of meters high and drenching the marines floating in the air.
"Roar!"
A furious bellow echoed from the depths.
Then, a monstrous, terrifying head burst through the surface of the sea.
"Boom!"
The enormous Mosasaur slammed into the warship again.
BOOM!!
With that single impact, the warship was completely pierced through—its hull split apart, wood splintering everywhere, a yawning hole gaping through its center as it slowly began to sink beneath the waves.
Clang!!
A slash filled with murderous intent cut through the air.
The Mosasaur roared, whipping its tail as it dove back into the sea.
Pfft!
The trailing edge of the slash grazed its body, slicing a wound several meters long. Blood streamed out, staining the sea red.
But the Mosasaur was already gone.
Gion's chest heaved with fury, her face flushed red, her grip on the sword whitening her knuckles.
"Roar!"
Another thunderous roar shook the air.
She turned sharply—only to see the Raptorex's massive tail swinging toward her, a huge crescent-shaped slash tearing through the air, splitting even the atmosphere itself.
