Chapter 11- The Vaylor Estate (Part 4)

The entire room was submerged in silence as the lab workers gathered around the screen to take a look. Their expressions went from curiosity to surprise and then to outright shock. A shock so deep, it robbed them of the ability to speak.

They all simply watched as the data on the screen loaded. Even Fiona, the girl known for being the most stoic and calm, had her eyes widen visibly as her lips parted. No one could believe their eyes.

After what felt like minutes of silence, George opened his mouth as he shakingly put his hand on the keyboard. "A-Are we sure of the data being presented here… Is this a bug?"

"... No, sir… We… recently regulated the machine… This shouldn't be a bug…"

"What? So you want me to believe this?! Look at the screen!" He pointed with a perturbed tone. "How can this even be possible? He's a normal kid. His body should've exploded if this much energy was really coursing through his body. In fact, almost every Novice Vampire Hunter would die having this much energy in their blood."

'D-Die?!' Elio heard all of that as his face paled. "What is going on? What is wrong with me? Am I going to die?"

"But sir…"

"We need to run the test again. We must run the test again. Take another blood sample and restart." The man said as he started typing aggressively on the keyboard. Meanwhile, Fiona simply sucked a deep breath to calm her nerves and looked down. Her eyes grew unfocused for a second as if she was trying to take in the shocking reality.

Then, she looked at Elio and walked toward him. "Is it fine if we take another blood sample, Elio? It is… It is very necessary."

"Y-Yes. But, am I in danger?"

"No. You aren't… I think… But, this is far from normal." She struggled to find the words to say. After all, she had never seen anything like this before in her life. "The results are unlike anything I have ever seen in my life."

'Oh no. I am so screwed. What the hell is going on?' Elio started breathing heavily. 'What does she mean? Why does everyone look so pale and terrified? What did they see?'

Quickly, the lab workers extracted another sample of blood from him and made sure to carefully put it in the machine and adjust its position again. The blood was sucked quickly, and the results started registering in the machine again.

George watched in silence as the same exact ridiculous results started showing up.

"It can't be… It just can't be." Slowly, the man pulled his goggles off as he looked down. Rubbing his temples, he slowly turned around and looked at Elio. "Please come here, sir."

"..." Elio gulped before he stood up and approached George. "I… I do not know how to even say this. But… You should not even exist."

"..."

"Look here." He said as he pointed at the screen and clicked a button. Immediately, a chart appeared before him.

"This chart is the way we measure the level of Blood Energy in the body. We have gathered this data across thousands and thousands of samples to create what you are seeing. The Blood Energy in the body. The way we measure it is by calculating the concentration of energy per blood cell."

Elio listened attentively to the distressed man as he explained.

"This over here at the very bottom is the normal amount found in a normal, average human. 0.56 per blood cell. That number, as you can guess, is pretty small; practically, blood energy is non-existent in the normal body. Then, certain chosen people called Vampire Hunters awaken their energy through a special process."

Then, George clicked the button, and new information appeared on the chart. A new, considerably longer bar appeared next to the first one.

"This is the average. 22.5 per blood cell. An average talent would have this much, maybe a bit more. Then, depending on their talent and as they rank up, their blood energy increases."

Slowly, more and more bars appeared, each one longer than the last by a considerable margin. Until he reached the 200 mark.

"Until this point…" He sucked in a deep breath. "This is normal progress. Then, we have the prodigies and geniuses. People who transcend the norm and reach new heights. For example, Miss Fiona is considered one of the best talents to ever be born in the world of Vampire Hunters. Her talent is unrivaled, and only a handful of people could rival her when she awakened. Her blood energy level was…"

He clicked the button and a bar suddenly shot up out of nowhere, flying like a rocket to a whole completely level. It was so long that the rest of the bars turned into small lines.

"Twenty thousand?" Elio blurted out. "This is when she… awakened?"

"Yes. Of course, now, her energy level is far higher than this, but I cannot disclose such information. This, however, should give you an idea of the level of power. Then… Then…"

The man couldn't find the words to describe what he was about to show. So, he simply clicked the button silently.

Instantly, a new bar exploded out of nowhere, flying so high above that Elio was almost taken aback. It quickly reached 5000, then 10000, then 20 thousand. But it didn't stop, only continuing to grow.

50k… 80k… 100k…

Finally, it came to a stop at 150k.

Elio slowly put his hand on his mouth. "150… thousand? thousand? Are you sure? I'm not even…"

"Awakened? Yes, you aren't. Yet, your blood energy level is… 150 thousand. Almost 300000% more than the average for a normal human. These results are… Well, I have no words truly."

"... Why…? What is wrong with me? Why does that much energy course through my body?"

'Did I eat something wrong? But, what… I'm so confused.'

"Your talent… If this data is true… It is unlike anything this world has ever witnessed in its history. This is far beyond the realm of genius and into the realm of… Well, the unknown. I don't think we would even start to comprehend this yet."

Silence loomed over the entire place. Nobody dared to speak; even the whispers died down. Everyone looked at Elio as if he were some kind of alien. A monster far beyond their understanding.

"Everyone. I want you to leave the lab immediately." Fiona spoke, cutting through the silence. "You are taking today off. Go ahead, excuse yourselves."

The lab workers looked at one another before they nodded and silently left the place. George was about to stand up and leave when she signaled for him to stay. Once the entire place was empty, Fiona spoke.

"This… This must stay a secret between us. I want you to wipe the memory of everyone who was here." Fiona said.

"Huh? Miss Fiona. I don't think this is the right thing to do. We must report to the lord-"

"No. This… Stays between us." She said coldly. "My father, of all people, should never know about Elio's powers. Not yet."

"How can we hide such a thing from your father, Miss Fiona? This is something far beyond a mere talent. This could change the whole wo-"

"World? The world is already changing, George. My father knows very well what he's doing, and if he comes to know about Elio, he won't spare any effort to seize his powers."

'I cannot give that old bastard this kind of a weapon. I cannot let him do what he wishes. He will send the whole world to hell.'

"If I come to know that you or anyone else has told him something…" She said coldly. "Should I say what would happen?"
